Saber and the willow

Ever since I did a shoot in the middle of winter with saber and the local species of a crack willow tree I have in my yard, I've been meaning to do a summer variant of it also.

 

Eventhough it was a sunny day after weeks and weeks of more or less continous rain, the wind started to blow after the 15-minutes of calm while snapping these.

 

This time I remembered to manually switch me camera into outdoor mode, but because I didnt want unwanted junk to appear in frame, had a challening angle facing the sun.

 

Not much in the way of posing, just some minor angle, and positioning tryouts before the wind started to blow the poor girls hair, and skirt into a jumble.

 

Pardon the stand, but you just cant get away without one with Saber in her royal romper suit

Wind started to pick up, and after this the wig nearly flipped around, and the hems were flapping all over the place.

Original Saber is so epic *o* I love how the light hits her in all these different directions, just beautiful!

The natural lens flare is so cool, even if it wasn't your original intention.

The ray of light is so neat when focused on her~

I like this one the most. I think that's awesome you were able to get that ray of light shining down on Saber in the photo.

The rays of light falling on her are perfect!

 

And with the hem of her skirts and hair gettin ruffled by the wind makes it look really life-like

mm, I do especially like the shot with Saber doing the Roma Downey imitation also myself, which is what I started to aim for when the flare showed up, but it was a bit of a challenge since the display on the camera was nearly all white around Arttuuria while trying to find the right angle.. heh

 

Again the mandatory moaning about a trying with better camera, though im not sure would have it helped all that much. These took a little fettling to get some more volume into the green in the background, but im still pretty chuffed about the results all things considered.

Gorgeous pictures! Saber looks like a real angel that has descended from heaven. Especially with all the awesome natural lighting effects from the suns rays. Terrific job capturing these wonderful pictures.
