baldylox Posted January 3, 2013 Will you be posting any pictures soon? I would love to see how she turned out Yeah, I figured we'd be seeing shots by now! What gives? Billy EDIT: Ok, I figured I'd check the first page for fun and there were some pics! That shot of her vinyl all together is IMPRESSIVE! She looks so cool! I can't wait to see her in person now. Did you figure out how to do her joints so they aren't as dark? Have you put her inner frame back together yet? How did that turn out? And will she be ready for our meetup this month? I WANNA SEE HER!!!! I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.

Basically the hand and elbow joints are what we put in first cuz we thought they would take like you know, hours. What we should of done, and I know this for next time, is just flash dip them real quick. Heres a grainy pick of her togeather, Flash is evil but in normal lighting she looks amazing. Knowing is half the battle! The joints don't look that bad when she's all together but she should be ready by the time for the meet! Keijogirl Posted January 3, 2013 She looks awesome all put together! Kinda wonder if dye remover would work on those super dark parts to lighten them up a bit. I know it works on the resin dolls to help undo a tanning. baldylox Posted January 3, 2013 Well, those sure helped out. Is it the flash that makes her headcap and bust piece look lighter in color than her head and limbs? Or are they really darker? Will her faceup be done by the time we have our meet later this month? If not will you still bring her so I can see her in person? Billy The head cap was spray paninted and we were to lazy to remove it like we did the hand In natural light she's lovely. And of course I'm brining her to the meet! She should be read by then. SisterKyoya Posted January 4, 2013 So if you just used RIT, couldn't you water it down for the hard parts so they won't take as much color so quickly? She looks SO beautiful! It's so awesome that you just used RIT, I have hope for fantasy colored DD! ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram

She should be read by then. Did you ever find the giant floof wig? Ahh okay. That's great that she looks good in natural light, I can't wait to see her! It's so awesome that you just used RIT, I have hope for fantasy colored DD! ~Sister Kyoya Yay Questions! Since this is the first time we tried it we didn't think of that XD But that is a possibility we can try in the future. We didn't anticipate that some of the hard parts would be of a different consistency then teh rest. Some of the parts sat in the water for the same amount of time as the uber dark ones and came out fine. I got a ton of powdered Rit dye and a friend of mine is considered dying. If it can work with coco brown I"m sure it can work with any color. And my girl was normal skin too but I think if you are going to do any other colors other than brown you might want white skin. I want to do one more girl like this, This time I will probably use less dye and not let them sit as long. They absorb the color more if the water is boiling first and then set to simmer. >.> Its like cooking! Cocoa (Custom Tan Yukino) is currently taking over my house, and soon...THE WORLD! Nelly19 Posted January 4, 2013 this is good!! am happy this worked out, and her color is staying consistant yes? I now am motivated to find wait for another DDdy girl in the market and dye her brown ^.^ my life would be complete. Can you explain the process in detail please?? Yukamina Posted January 4, 2013 Did the dye job come out even? It looks even but I can't see it in person ^^; Whenever I see dye projects on DOA I can't help but notice the color looks marbled in places, so I never wanted to try dying a resin doll. If RIT dye works well on vinyl that would be awesome, though taking them apart and putting them back together looks scary! Semienigma Posted January 5, 2013 Me and my friend are working on a detailed tutorial on how to dye your dolls with rit dye. But with the exception of one of her uppers, Coco is pretty much all the same color on her parts. But I think it was some lingering msc or something. But I suggest that before dying give the doll a nice wash, all the parts individual part and let them dry. I still feel its a two person job one to do the dipping an the other to do the rinsing and drying. It all took less than 45 and that was with us durping around XD Cocoa (Custom Tan Yukino) is currently taking over my house, and soon...THE WORLD! I"m just happy I didn't need to use any chemicals on her harder plasitic parts. Just plain old hot water I do wish Volks would make darker girls too. It would be nice, there are a lot of dark skin characters they could do. They can even make them limited like Kanu Cocoa (Custom Tan Yukino) is currently taking over my house, and soon...THE WORLD! SisterKyoya Posted January 11, 2013 I've been tempted for a while to ask if you would ever consider taking commissions for doing dyed DD. I just have been curious, but no plans at the moment because I've got way too many major projects going right now. I've wanted a DDdy girl with an 04 head with a skin color like your girl for about the last nine months so the idea surely doesn't seem to be going away. If nothing else I thought I'd ask. ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram
Semienigma Posted January 11, 2013 That's a good question XD Well, I don't know really, probably not since its something that's permanent and the darkness varies. I personally best to do it oneself. I did this because I love tan dolls its a fun idea. I also have to see how the tanning holds up, so making a care log about this.
