An Afternoon With Mariko-sensei

So today was a holiday in Canada. I decided to go into work for a few hours anyway, and since I figured I'd be alone I let Mariko-sensei come in with me.

 

 

 

After a few photographs she settled in as my pep squad, cheering me on when I got stuck.

 

 

 

We took a break to take a look around my lab.

 

 

 

When I got stuck, Mariko-sensei tried to explain what I was doing wrong.

 

 

 

 

 

 

I wasn't really getting it and Mariko-sensei was getting frustrated.

 

 

She tried explaining things again over by the window. The pictures looked ok on my camera but didn't turn out very well afterwards.

 

 

 

 

Mariko hung her head in shame, she was a failure of a teacher.

 

 

Her last resort was to do some sexy poses to get me more interested in learning.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Poor Mariko-sensei. I told her I felt inspired by her efforts and was ready to take another jab at my problems. (Which I did actually solve shortly after that.)

 

 

On the way home we stopped by the river for some photos.

 

 

 

 

 

This is the same area where I did my first outdoor shoot with Yuki, except it was evening instead of morning, and I'm experimenting with a Nikon D90 I borrowed from a friend instead of my normal P&S camera. In my photo post-processing, I had a lot of trouble with the colours and Mariko's white skin face.

 

 

 

 

 

 

After a while we were both getting hungry and I was out of photo ideas so we headed home.

Ah these pictures of Mariko-sensei make me so happy ^O^ Volks didn't capture the loveliness that Mariko has! Ever since seeing owner pictures of her it has definitely made me a fan of her I love how she tried so hard to get you to understand the problem, such a hard working teacher indeed

Mariko is a favorite of mine, and your girl is adorable. I really like the lacy tights with her outfit too... I've been to scared to put the tights she came with on her.

I love Mariko. Her face is just so adorable, I now wish I had gotten her and will be adding her to my Dollieh wishlist. Darn. That wishlist is getting longer.

Nice! What are you working on?

 

Ummm I'm working on human postural stability modelling, although that whiteboard is a culmination of scribbled notes over at least a year of student-prof meetings.

Normally there are others in my office but I agree it was great that I could take her in for at least one day.

She DOES try so hard. I actually didn't really need her help but I didn't have the heart to tell her so. I was considering putting on her default tights for these photos but was also too scared to chance them staining.

Yeah... afterwards when I was processing the photos I was trying to come up with some story to link them all together. It worked out way better than I could have hoped. And I love how her photos turned out, some of them make her look cuter than she looks IRL.

I adore Mariko Sensei and she never fails to be such a cutie in this photoshoot! (: At least she cares enough to try to help, hahaha. XD Very sweet of her!

In the her trying to help pictures... I do entirely imagine her with a squeaky voice like she were a person in a movie who'd been shrunk.
