My partner-in-crime [who is a constant lurker] calls it wearing 'dolly-drunk glasses.'

Have you ever gone to a website and been tempted by something pretty like a DD, clothes for your girls or supplies...

And before you can think straight, you have clicked ADD TO CART

And before you know it, you've paid and later checked your email, seen the order confirmation and thought 'oh wow, I probably did that when I maybe shouldn't have'

 

Confess!

 

I have a Volks order arriving either tomorrow or the next day that I have not much of an idea when or why I ordered it but somehow I still know of it as I just checked a shipping number I somehow remembered.

 

....It wasn't me, the dollies drugged me with their prettiness!

This happens to me, but not with doll stuff, but with PVC figures. XD

And game merchandise.... orz

I'm at the stage where the effects aren't as strong as it use to be. I have stronger antibodies now , unless a new strain appears and affects me

That happens to me all the time.. I have enough money saved up for Sakura and just recently got paid and thought that I would keep that money in my account so it doesn't get low... and here I go and spend it all on a wig for my newest girl, two pattern books, and a plushie for the new girl. hehe

I've gotten 13 girls and 10 times as many bits of clothing in just over 2 years.... what do YOU think?

Although I'm becoming a bit more resistant now because I have so much already. 10 girls at home, 1 floating head. And 2 more girls arriving (and two bodies that need to be purchased).

I've never had that feeling for this hobby per say since I'm still pretty new to it. But my kryptonite for a while has been figma's and nendoroids.... I've gotten super good at sleeping on a purchase decision as of late. But every once in a while theres a character that gets released that just has me clicking that "Buy" button.

That has happen to me a lot when I first started this hobby. It has now been over a year and is somewhat starting to die down. What is pulling me back would probably be this year's University tuition fee.

I make sure to make ALL of my purchases with my "EVERYTHING IS FINE YOU CAN AFFORD ANY AND ALL ITEMS" glasses on

 

I have the amazing ability to either talk myself into a purchase, or when I can't do that, convince myself that something magical will happen in the coming months that will allow me to afford what I'm about to buy!

 

I placed an order one day for like $300 worth of yo-yo related stuff, and came to the conclusion that it was probably time to chill out buying non-practicals. I'm not even any good with a yo-yo....

The first picture that came into my mind was an image of Tamayuki's Dolly dragging a prescription meds bottle around, stopping and saying, "What? I didn't do anything!"

 

I would be so prone to buying everything DD I set my eyes on if I could even pretend that it was possible at the present time, but since I can't I have been dreaming on paper. I started a list of the "base 13" DD I want (for the different body types so I can draft patterns without having to swap pieces) and I can say that there are definitely more than 13 dolls on the list and Tamayuki isn't either...

 

And that doesn't include all the stuff I want to make elaborate sets for extensive photo stories of Naiomi's plays, Tamayuki's furniture and hobby addictions, clothes and accessories for Yuriko's modeling career, not to mention wanting to remodel part of our basement for a DD only room, complete with Naiomi's theater stage and a DD boarding house... Rainie may be high energy, but she seems to be the lowest maintenance so far! That could be because she's still waiting on her body... hmmm.

 

Must prevent Tama from looking through American Girl catalogs...

Ha ha! I think you may be onto something there but it's not just those two girls who make me buy things. I also have the super adorable factors there with Elisabeth, Mamimi and Sprout too. So I'm not safe no matter what I do!

I've done better lately. I try to only buy what I need to complete a certain character or outfit, though I still have a hard time resisting cute shoes and wigs... I have to think of it as fewer funds toward the next DD, and that helps :3

I have been "high" on dolls since 2004. But my addiction with DD's is far worse than any of my other dolly addictions.....Dollfie Dreams is the Heroine of the dolly world, LOL!!!!

Well, I've completely stopped buying games and books (my other two MAJOR addictions) in order to save money for doll stuff. That's pretty significant coming from me. Also, the fact that I had no problem dropping $25 on a wig, and barely even blinked at the $20 shipping fee shows that I'm not in my normal mental state. Normally I have to beat myself up just to spend $10 on myself, and I usually throw a fit at even the tiny shipping fees for books off of Amazon.

YAY! Finally you are doing things purely because you want them. You give yourself WAY to little credit Sweetheart, and I'm really happy to see that Yuriko is finally helping you recognize that (even though she gets stuff in the process.) You are still my hero.

While my recent dollfie purchases recently are the first time in a while that I spent money I didn't have yet, I'd say that I'm not quite dolly drugged yet. I'm definitely video game drugged though; every game I want to play makes it way into my collection on its release day.

I tend to do this with the most expensive of things

I do this...

Than when a package arrives my hubby asks why I have a package... And than asks if its for my dolls/other hobbies... Mostly dolls.

 

But he's occasionally gotten my dollies things too, and than photographs them with said items, he's slowly coming over to the dark side

I recently bought a dress set that fits DDDy and some cute white ankle boots from Volks just because I thought how cute they would look on Yoko when she arrives. So yes, this has happened to me.
