Mahoro Posted November 2, 2012 The Little Busters Anime OP/ED Songs, they're such an improvement on the original game ones. Rita's singing has gotten noticeably better, and Little Busters! in particular feels more like the strong forward song I imagined it should be. That said, I still haven't actually started the show XD
Ravendruid Posted November 2, 2012 Just in time for Halloween, a friend turned mo on to Smashing Pumpkins. I can't believe I've never payed attention to them before. Fun to listen to, a wide ranging style including something for just about every mood, some great poetry in the lyrics, and the lead singer has the kind of voice I could hear all day and not tire of. I'm not going to go all fanboi, and say they're the greatest thing ever, but certainly worth multiple listens. They have earned a permanent spot in my playlist, and I'm grateful to Mitsuki for introducing them to me. mitsuki Posted November 2, 2012 That is great, Ravendruid! I am glad you like them. Corgan-sensei says he has a really weird voice and that no one would want it but it makes him stand out. I think he sounds great. I love the diversity of sounds they have. I never get tired of listening to them and it has been 20 years for me.
Ravendruid Posted November 3, 2012 I love really unique voices. Especially, coarse, gravelly, or rough ones. Voices that sound like real people who've lived real lives. Voices that tell stories in and of themselves, separate from the words they sing. I quickly get tired of overly smooth, clear, "perfect", polished voices. Plus he seems to have the hint of an accent I just can't quite place, and that intrigues me. Daddy of: Yuriko, Sohi, Miku and SK's many kids
blueboy57 Posted November 13, 2012 ^^Well if you like unique voices, I'd try System of a Down. They're not one of my go to bands but I like some of their stuff...and their vocalist definitely has a unique voice. So I missed In This Moment at the Uproar Festival, but they're coming back to St Louis. I'm not gonna miss them again...even if I have to by myself. Really wish it wasn't in the ghetto next to a bunch of strip clubs but eh can't be too picky. Plus Halestorm will be there. So two bands that their lead singer made Revolver's list of Hottest chicks of metal and hardrock...and Lizzy Hale from Halestorm was #1. Yep DD Family: Kara (Power Girl) HDD-02 & DDDyIII
DJStarstryker Posted November 13, 2012 Saw Shoko Nakagawa in concert (again) on Friday night. SakuraSylph and I have seen her 4 times now - in 2008 when she was at Anime Expo, in 2010 when we had our trip in Japan, and now twice in the past 2 months. She's always fun to watch. And you really get your money's worth. The girl sings her heart out for nearly 3 hours straight nowadays. The thing I enjoy on top of that though is, since Shokotan likes cosplaying and is a geek herself, that has inspired fans to dress up for her concerts. Her concerts are almost like mini anime conventions in the number of cosplayers you get. I think the thing that really hit me was seeing the guy that looked about 60 dressed up as Len the vocaloid. Even old guys want to have fun! And for those who don't know Shokotan, that's the girl who is my avatar right now. Here's her most famous song, Sorairo Days, the theme from the anime Gurren Lagann. Are you ready to rock? ^_^
SakuraSylph Posted November 13, 2012 Indeed, I adore Shokotan! She genuinely loves her fans, always has as long as I've known her, and she works to spend time with them in whatever small ways a person that famous can (she's very famous in Japan). It's one of my favorite things about her that DJ hadn't yet mentioned. Yeah, she's an unabashed geek with a great singing voice who is out there to have a ball. They release a bluray of one show from every concert tour she does, so she has more live shows published by now than anyone else I know of -- these are well worth buying too. Earlier tonight I was listening to her latest mini-album, this one a cover collection of some newer artists' songs. SakuraSylph
Ayshel Posted November 22, 2012 In the las months I'm listening to Eluveitie, I really like this kind of folk metal, and it's nice tu put as background music. I also like Piano Guys from youtube, in my opinion they're awesome musicians ^^ Sophia (DDH06) and Sakura Matou at home
Kouriel Posted November 26, 2012 My taste in music might be a little odd for some people. I'm a huge fan of Nick Cave and the bad seeds and Einstürzende Neubauten. I love dark wave music from the 80s, Björk and Soap and Skin.
Shaipnoy99 Posted November 30, 2012 Most recently for me I'd have to say... music from 10 years ago. rap R&B pop indie rock screamo EDM eurobeat (because of initial D fifth stage) mmm yeah. I think that's it.
yama Posted December 1, 2012 I honestly don't know how to describe my taste in music. ^^: If I am to make a try, I guess it's a lot of new and old Japanese music (anison/pop/doujin(which isn't really a genre)), some Korean pop, and a little western electronic music. Oh, and I pretty much only listen to songs with female vocals or instrumental music. My last.fm has what music I listen to even if it doesn't necessarily reflect which artists I like the most and such. http://www.last.fm/user/tsuruya Hi! My name is yama. I am niced to meet you.™ ↑ All Most of my Volks junk.
Pahsmina Posted December 30, 2012 I can't really describe my music taste that well since it's pretty messed up and I change my taste a lot. All I can say is that my number one favorite band forever and ever will always be The Libertines. Own- Melina - DD Rise Kujikawa, Luke Triton - MDD hybrid, Clive Dove - DD hybrid, Arianna - DD Yui Hirasawa
elfinder Posted December 31, 2012 My favorite band has to be Shiny Toy Guns! Their new album of this year, III is so amazing! I listen to it all the time, over and over!
finnleo Posted January 1, 2013 I've been listening quite a lot to this youtube bunch called The Piano guys. probably known to some here, just by the hits their stuff gets, but thaught id mention it still. I thaught the piano bits were impressive why i found them in the first place (The pirates theme), but the guy with the chello despite occasional goofy expressions takes the cake. SchroedingersCat Posted April 21, 2013 This is an old topic But I finally put my Enya CD my computer. Enya is my absolute favorite Her music is amazing and takes me to a happier place I absolutely love Enya's voice, but her churchier songs drive me nuts. So I always end up cherry picking my way through her albums, and not really enjoying them as much as I might. Says more about me than her, but anyway. Now with +/- 15% more uncertainty! baldylox Posted April 21, 2013 Oh yeah I love some old school Enya! Some really great music there. At this exact moment I'm listening to "Gangnam Style" by Psy. Right before that was "Thrift Shop" by Macklemore. I'm usually listening to lots of odds and ends for music. But main rotations include 80's pop, 90's alternative, OLD school rap like LL Cool J and Sir Mix A Lot, and lots of techno and electronic dance stuff with some dubstep thrown in. I'll also play quite a bit of 60's to 80's rock depending on my mood. The only music genres/styles I can't listen to are jazz with horns in it, big band/swing music, country of ANY kind and newer rap. Anything other than those is fine by me. Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.

I thaught the piano bits were impressive why i found them in the first place (The pirates theme), but the guy with the chello despite occasional goofy expressions takes the cake. I LOVE the Piano Guys! I listen to their stuff like all the time! My music tastes vary lol. Usually I listen to Korean girl bands like Girls Generation, or then it'll change to Stone Sour, Backstreet boys, techno stuff, and classical lol XD The only things I don't like are country and hard core metal and rap, other than that it's all good :3 Hubby & mine's Girls: Kana (Saber Extra), Serena (Momo), Taki (Cirno), Allora (06), Mizuki (Nanami)
Anriko Posted April 21, 2013 My taste runs more towards darkwave and industrial these days. VNV Nation, Rotersand, Cruxshadows and Abney Park are high in the rotation. But I'll listen to nearly anything.
