misskale Posted August 15, 2012 So, I was looking through some stuff on American Girl dolls and I came across these ones from a line called BFC Ink that seems to have been discontinued. Though I'm not sure about that, they just seem to be less places than they apparently used to be. According to Den of Angels they seem to fit JID/Large 1/4 stuff and I really like that their articulation is "similar" to DDs. You can see a picture of them here The other "good" thing is that the majority of them are only $30-ish new. I ended up paying $60, but I got Calista who was the one I liked the most. eldritchhumanoid Posted August 16, 2012 They kind of died rather quietly, if they actually died. There was word about a new "Pen Pals" line coming out for this brand, but if it ever did manifest it was in small quantities (I've only encountered one or two on eBay). I thought they were cute, but I could never find them in stores (I wanted to get my niece one). The only negative review I heard about the articulated body was that it "has too many joints." The lady didn't have much faith in her kid, since she said she was afraid of her kid pinching herself. Anyway, I've been trying to keep an eye on this brand, but MGA hasn't been too good about keeping people informed about their non-Bratz and non-Lalaloopsy brands. misskale Posted August 18, 2012 My Calista arrived today. Her articulation is really good, her upper torso feels a little loose but it's not a problem. Size wise she is pretty similar to the MDD. Her feet are a little bigger, but not absurdly so. I think the JID suggestion is pretty accurate. Here she is sharing an American Girl chair with my MDD Emmie. Till Troll Posted August 22, 2012 I picked up the brunette girl cheap at a discount store the other day, and while some of her joints are restricted in their range of movement, I am happy with her. Although her skintone is a little dark and peach compared to Volks normal, I intend to use the body as a cheap mdd stand in. I removed her head the minute she was deboxed. I am tempted to go pick up the callista that was there also, as a short body for my dark skinned doll project. Does anyone want the spare heads? I'll only bin them otherwise.
