What age do you consider your DD girls to be?

Maiyuki (who is DDh03 on DDS body) is 19 because she's a fun loving gal & I had a lot of fun when I was that age !

Kihona's age as a character, is 26 years old.

 

Yep, and she's my only dollfie right now that's an OC, the other is just Saber Extra.

And since Alna is supposed to be an Idol singer, I didn't want to make her too old... but admittedly, I have no idea what the average age of a Japanese Idol Singer is, LOL!! All I have is the suspicion that most of them have a short shelf life... so I made her and Pidge 24 instead of 28.

 

The average is probably actually lower than 24. The number of teen idols would probably drag that down, with the average maybe closer to 21 or 22.

 

30 is kinda, sorta "old maid" as far as female idols go. There's certainly some older than that, but they aren't really seen as "idols" anymore. They're just seen as just plain singers or J-pop artists. Not really as the idol part (someone to aspire to be like).

Hmmm, Tana is sort of an enigma, I guess. Activated almost a year ago, I'd have a hard time mentally guessing her age. She seems logical enough to be in her late 20's to early 30's, yet there's a girlish attitude she shows occasionally. Maybe about 17-18 mentally?

I don't think my girl has an age. I suppose one could think of a doll as an individual frozen at a certain moment in her development, but I rather think they are outside of time altogether, representing supra-individual archetypes.

Fate and Hitomi are in the same grade so I made them both sixteen. But Fate acts more than sixteen at times.

 

Akira is the youngest and she seem so childish and the DDS body just remind me of early teen. So Akira is 15.

Considering how much of a party animal Mikoto is, I'd put her around 19-21. The 02 head looks a bit older than some of them as well so I think that works.

I actually bothered to figure this out, but it was more of a side-effect of analyzing some of the symbolism in Baroque rather than trying to figure out my doll's character (since he's just a head for now). Unfortunately, I just came up with a range: 14-18.

I've always had a really hard time putting an age on things, but I guess if I'd to say something, Mina would be anything from 16-18.

I had my girl age range even before I got her. Panchita is in her early 20's. I'm not sure the exact age yet but she is in her early 20's

I don't have original characters for any of mine, I keep all my dolls the same character they are from when they were created. Mashiro is Mashiro's age, Yui is Yui's age, etc.

 

That being said, Mashiro is technically a deity so it could be said she is over a thousand years old, Yui is a regular late high school/early college age, and Saber is, well, hard to place but I would say she is in her early 20s.

Hmmm... I can say around 16-20. Except Beato though as she is practically ageless.

16-24 depending on the bust size. She falls into that young and pretty age group.

When I had my DDs I considered them all late high school or early college aged.

Lily is 15, but mature and intelligent. She'd be the kind of girl where you'd sometimes forget that she's still a kid, because she's responsible and smart, but every once in a while there's something she just can't handle.

I actually haven't thought about this yet! My husband and I are going to have a girl couple, and we know for sure that they will still be in highschool, possibly juniors or seniors. So, I guess around 17-18? We still are debating their names too lol!

I've got some at varying ages.. XD

 

Yumiko (my MDD) is about 12-13

Yune (my DDS) is about 17-20

Tsukihime (my DD) is about 27ish

Hydinia (the DD i'm working on right now) is about 18

She wasn't calling them all by sculpt name, but rather by their given name. Maya is her MDD 01 head. I think you mean DDS Mayu. But don't worry, its an easy mistake to make, especially when you aren't familiar with everyone's dolls yet.

Not to mention the chaos of given names being the sculpt name, and duplicate names across the forums. Does anyone really know how many Sabers there are on the forums? It would be like going into a busy store and having a little kid yell "Mom!"

You chose that example with malice aforethought! Since there's, what, six different Saber releases so far?

 

I'm sure there are a couple of hundred Sabers around here.

Yes, I'm sorry, the Sabers were just the easiest to pick on for a good example. Duplicate names are just a pet peeve of mine and I try very hard to avoid it. For a while I even stressed a bit over Tamayuki's name after I realized how many Yukino's there are here, even though his name has nothing to do with a boy-ish reference to the 03 head. Similar sounding names drive me a bit batty as well because I can easily get them confused, like Tamayuki and Tamaki (one of the guys from Ouran High School Host Club). I often have to bite my tongue when new people come on the forums and they get their first girl sometime after that, and still choose an exceedingly common name, and sometimes one of a utterly different sculpt.

 

 

Seriously people, how hard is it to look at the credits of translated/dubbed anime for unique names? When I was trying to figure out Tamayuki's I went through a few pages of credits on Anime News Network to find something I liked. Eventually I ended up taking two parts that I liked, sticking them together, and doing a Google search to see if it turned into meaning something freaky. Now that I know enough about Japanese I've finally been able to track down (I think) how his name would be written: 魂雪 (It also says a lot about him too if you can read it.) Just for fun I did a Google image search for Tamayuki, and it was entertaining to see what popped up. Yet another fun thing about unique names.

 

My dislike of duplicate names with my own kids even extends to a custom I may get around to someday. Her character was named Beatrice for quite some time, but since she is an 04 head I had to come up with a new name for her despite my resistance to change it. That's just obsessive-compulsive me.

Thanks for the info. Now, after reading all the other posts, is it any wonder I am totally confused???
