leitan Posted August 17, 2012 oh wow, she's so cute! i love the pink floral feel of the photoshoot, it shows her off really well. the wig you chose also is fantastic (i am obsessed with pink hair, and it's short too!)--but, something is bothering me, and i don't know if you use a wig cap so i'd rather warn you about this now since if you don't there is a risk of staining your lovely new girl in a bad place: you've placed the wig too much tooo far down (forward) on her head. i hope it's okay for me to explain this as i'm just trying to help. your actual photos are lovely but you need to learn to style the wig higher on her because the way it is position now is not anatomically correctly placed. now she's your doll and you don't have to listen to me at all, obviously if that is how you like it to appear then i have no say in it, so i'm sorry if this offends you ><" -- but, the way her wig is styled now, this means the wig band is going to be near where her exposed forehead should be. if the wig band is near where her exposed forehead should be, and it leaves a stain, if you or anyone else positions the wig "correctly" then the stain will show! i tried to find images to show you how to place the wig: http://i.imgur.com/80wK7.jpg here's a pop star wearing a wig that's rather similar! but notice how her wig does not start right above her eyebrows? there is a gap of a few inches that exposes her forehead. IRL she will place her wig barely just below where her hairline naturally should be. that is how the wig on your doll should be placed - "pulled back" or "higher up" to achieve this look. with your doll, the wig band has been placed directly above her eyebrows. there's no gap. i wouldn't worry too much about it looking wrong, but if you ever had to sell her or learned to style the wig above the brows higher, it could be a risk that your wig band left a stain in a bad place. even when a wig has bangs, the bangs should be long and the wig band should not start on the middle or lower forehead like it is with your cutie. i'm really sorry if this offends you as it's not my intent at all! you clearly put a lot of effort into coordinating her pastel style and making her very cute, plus even the bedspread matches! but since she is your first DD (as you said) i would like to offer you this advice. please at least consider it, and if you keep her hair the way it is you may want to make sure you have a thick wig cap to prevent her stains from being visible ^^" Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I had thought about getting those same set of clothes for my girl because I love the print on it! Might have to do that in the future haha. eroge-maid Posted August 17, 2012 thanks for the tip Leitan, i had thought that myself but I hadnt my glasses on, I had limited time without my daughter present and i have no experience with wig caps...Shiki is wearing one and as it was sitting underneath I had trouble handling the wig and calculating its position. I feel so newb now... I take your comment as you intended, as helpful... And everything you said made sense. Thanks for being 'brave'...many viewed this topic and said nothing lol... weaklings!! Shiki isnt wearing her wig right now, but tomorrow Ill mess about with it again and get it right! I blame my bjd and her easy to use furwig that just sits on her head without any elastic for not teaching me the valuable wig lesson.
