hmmm, Shopping Mall Japan question...

Recommended Posts

Alright, so I finally decided on ordering a DDH-06 from Volks USA!

whenthewebsiteisbackup*coughcough*

Anyway, I'm using Shopping Mall Japan to ship it to me in the UK, but I just have a little question about the service fee.

If I'm paying $5 for the service fee, does that include the cost of shipping the head from Volks USA to the SMJ storeroom, or do I have to pay for that separately?

I'm sorry if it answers that on the website somewhere, but it's really hard to find info on SMJ, everything is so confusing

Oh, and has anyone bought a head from Volks before?

Could anyone please tell me roughly how much they charged for shipping, it's hard to say how heavy a head will be or how big of a package it will fit in if you've never touched or seen a DD in person before T_T

Any help is always appreciated!

And sorry for asking a noobish question!!

- Aisu ♥

Aaaah, I read that page before I posted but it didn't quite make sense, I think I was reading the USA Shop fee only if there are three separate charges ^^''

Thanks for the help!

No. The service fee is the "service" of them buying stuff for you in general & running the website, probly PayPal fee coverage in there too... Shipping from seller to SMJ, and then shipping from SMJ to you are separate charges

uaah, sounds like I should probably buy a full set DD from somewhere like Mandarake then, I was going to buy the parts separately but with all the fees and stuff, it would probably be dearer in the end if I went the SMJ way, right?

And thank you for the help! ^^

Volks Intl site doesn't have the head you were looking to get from the Volks USA? Because then you wouldn't really need all the middle-men to handle processing...

SMJ is most useful for Y!J auctions or Mbok, or if you're looking to get something from a Japanese website/store that won't ship International themselves

I looked at the Int site but it's strange because the cost of the items themselves are dearer than the USA site, so I naturally thought it would be cheaper overall to get a middle man to ship it

And looking at it now, the 06 head is out of stock anyway, so maybe I'll just save a little more until I can get my hands on a full set ^^

It is?

Ah, thank you!

I would have gone spending more money than I needed to if you hadn't have helped ^^

They're increasing the prices on the US site to be more in line with the Japan one anyway. So when the store reopens there won't really be any advantage to buying from the USA site using a deputy. I believe the final cost will be cheaper if you order straight from Japan.

I saw that too on the redirect pagey-thing, but it does make a lot more sense now to ship from Japan, it seems like a lot less of a fuss than faffing around with a shipping company ^^
