Pfftt, Manami would CRUSH her.  😄 I love Towa and I'm not really sure why I haven't adopted one yet.  Maybe it's timing or lack of funds when I think of it, I have no clue.  One of our local doll peeps has her and I love seeing her at meets.  I want one but for some reason THE one hasn't shown up yet.  She'll let me know when she's ready to come home as all DD's do.  😉

There HAVE been a lot of Towas popping up lately... I don't know if there's renewed interest in DDdy due to Yor Forger, or maybe simply due to Towa being the most gorgeous standard model in the current lineup. I like to think that my own Towa has been quite brilliant at marketing herself.

Here's my Dynamite Duo. Towa's original wig appears to have been in a warzone, so it's fortunate we found another.

Agree she's kind of cute, but one way or another they ALL look like towa nowadays, it's like a weird multiverse thing lol 

Don't believe me? Off the top of my head Skadi, Rem, Ram, Mash, Yor, Towa... of course its more apparent with similar looking eyes and wigs but its definitely there

Apart from mash and rem, you have the red eye's to go with, which takes away maybe 30% of uniqueness. In general Id argue the Sakura Shinguji head was similar in general shape and form even before.

Yor seems to be engineered to be similar after the fact, since user photos started popping up I've noticed the features of her mouth that make me think that she was originally like Sinon, but they just painted a smile instead of a frump.

So she wound up a bit like this in my oppinnion:

Still have to see in person if its enough to be a deal breaker.

I'm there with you in both. I wonder why that is? Sakura could well be among them if she was newer. Seems like they're really going for the same face shape lately? I know Volks has a history of hit and miss when it comes to character likeness but in the case of Yor is almost as if they had to make her cheeks so prominent for whatever reason.

Can't believe nobody else has noticed or mentioned this. Its fairly notorious once you see it, i believe you might actually be right! there's no reason for her lip commissure line to be that shape, or to be there to begin with. Very,  very odd.

I see your point. Highly doubt I'll see one in person but based on the ones I've seen it's a pass for me.

Here's Sakura Towa. I'll take Yor out for a photoshoot sometime. She does look like Towa's twin sister, but I am glad I acquired her. She has quite a stern looking faceup - I think it's mostly in the eyebrows. Plus her semi-white vinyl is gorgeous. I think she'll become very sought after especially when the next series of Spy x Family drops.

I don't hug my DDs for.. several reasons, not for lack of wanting though. At most I pet heads/pat them.
For one, they're character DDs and I love them as dolls but also collectibles and I'd be distraught if I happened to mess up their outfit (snag a part, dirty in a bad way, rip etc) since they'd be really hard to get a replacement. Only one is 9S the few times I took him to show off to my mom, loved carrying in my arm/have him seated on it.
Y'shtola has the the single saddle stand though (waiting for the 6th/5th of May for those new ones..). I legitimately wish I could buy some spare outfit parts for 9S.. just so that I can move him around more in his outfit..

I DO have a new idol outfit (Yellow Star+ shoes that Kaito wore but in all black) and will probably be handling him more then since I'm not too worried about a standard outfit.
Other thing is that I spend my time either playing videogames (no free hands), or eating while watching things (he can get dirty)
I'm also worried of potentially dirtying or scratching his face ; A ;
I'll definitely pick him up more once he's in his idol outfit and on the saddle since he'll be easier to lift.
He's also displayed with anime figures in front of him, so it's a hassle to move those to get him off my cabinet..
Y'shtola I will change poses for but will mostly remain displayed, her outfit has too much going on+her staff is posed.

Utena and Anthy will be inside a cabinet on display so probably not going to pick them up either..
I wish I could sleep with 9S besides me though! I like having him around where I can see him, the few times he has been moved from his display spot.
For now, it's enough to pat his head as I pass by my cabinet and look at him when I sleep and wake up!

My girls move around the house, although they're careful to avoid direct sunlight.

The apartment Towa and I lived in during covid was filthy, but she's still in awesome condition. It's mainly wigs that seem to deteriorate, plus some very old outfits we bought.

Not many of my girls wear their default outfits. Many have never been worn.

I just love the expressions my girls have when the TV is on - it's like they're really engrossed by what's appearing on screen. We just finished Anohana, and up tonight is Angel Beats and maybe the Violet Evergarden movie.

I do not hug mine, but I enjoy being close to them. When I am relaxing at home gaming or something, I enjoy having them in close proximity to me. It's like having a little friend that cheers you on! 😁 

Hugging no, but I do like to have my boys around in closely to me and I like to pat their heads or poke their little hands.

Sometimes also having them sit on my lap or next to me when I game or watch something.

Well well well, look who is a fortune teller!  Guess who will be coming home with me from the doll meet I have coming this Saturday?  TOWA!!!  😄 

A friend of mine knew I was looking for one and since the doll meet is on my birthday, she decided to sell her to me for a great price.  She doesn't have her default wig or eyes but that's ok.  I can find those or something similar I'm sure.  So hooray for you for knowing I'd be getting one 6 months after you said so.  LOL

Her default wig is a lovely colour and the waves are nice but it's really thin and not amazing quality.

In my photo above Towa is wearing the Towa 2.0 wig we found on Yahoo Japan Auctions. We also picked up a spare Towa 1.0 wig there.

Thanks!  I've always wanted a Towa but I never really went after her for some reason.  But now I have her so I'm super happy!  I really want her default wig so I guess I'll have to start looking on Mandarake and YJA.  I just love the color!  I looked on both the Volks USA and Japan sites but it looks like they don't sell her wig separately.    Ah well, such is life!

Flat out hugging and cuddling, not really. I like to hold mine and have her around me though. She's currently sitting on my desk.

Her wig (Ramune Blue Romantic Wave) is available for sale separately at Dollpoint in Akihabara. Her eyes are also the readily available 22mm Type J in red, so you can easily have a friend or proxy pick them up for you, or pick them up yourself next time you visit Japan.

You can get that color through some of the Dream choice wigs. Mine is wearing the ponytail wig they sell in her color.

Luckily I had her default eyes for some reason so those have already been installed!  I know a couple of people in Tokyo so I'll get with them to see if they can get me her wig.  Definitely worth a shot.  For now she looks good with the one I put on her as a placeholder.

I don't hug my dolls in general because I'm terrified of either accidentally scratching their faceups or getting them dirty ^^; 

I always wear gloves when handling my dolls. I just like having them near me though when I'm just in my room and on my computer or playing games. I do wish I had more space in my room to just display my dolls though. Most of my dolls are in their boxes and I can only rotate about 5 dolls at a time and I have like 12 full dolls total with 3 dollfie dream floating heads 😅

This is so embarrassing considering that I only got my first DD a few days ago (Y'shtola) but I’m already hugging her, ehehe. I’m just careful to not squeeze her and make sure her face is not against me. Going through a rough time at the moment and I’ve bonded ridiculously hard with her so quickly, lol, so she sits with me most of the day. Lots of headpats and light snuggles for her. 😅

I admit I hugged my DDdy Sasara when I first got her, but after the initial excitement, I now just give passing head pats or have her posed on my desk. I do the same with my resin boy but I’ve had him longer. When I first got him, he went everywhere with me and was cuddled all the time. I’m still too afraid to do that with Sasara though…😅 

She is still too new (to me) and also now the most expensive item in my entire collection.  

My tribe take it in turn to come into the living room once the sun goes down (they are all terrified of sunlight).

Tonight Towa, Yor and Kizuna are in. Kizuna's standing right beside me. The other pair are waiting for the TV to go on.

The only one who never comes in is Mytyl, because SD. Elves with elf ears only come in on special occasions, due to the risk of breaking their precious ears. Frieren only comes in for Frieren Fridays.

One Pureneemo is my work assistant but they rotate those duties on a weekly basis (mostly due to burnout as our weekdays are extremely busy). This week it's Lycee.

I hug and hold my dolls all the time, I've got Problems And Disorders and like having objects in my hand, and big dolls especially fit that niche. Usually at least one of my dolls are in a simple outfit/wig so i can just nab them. I will say I'm more keen to regularly handling my Smart Doll bc its just the nature of the beast that they're kind of designed to take a beating, but my DDII frame has fallen off mantleplaces onto hardwood (screaming and crying I was trying to share my hobby at a Christmas party and she got knocked off by accident) and came out totally unscathed, so I'm not shy about holding her. My Dollfie Dream boy however--he's...a very pretty centerpiece to pat his head and move his arm sometimes...? I'm so gentle with him in comparison to my girlies LOL......
