Different head sizes??

Hi All

 

Im new to DD, wanna check a noob question: Are there any differences in DD's head sizes? Cos I saw on the Volks website that there are head cups for small, medium and large.. thanks

I think what they mean is small=yo-sd size, Medium=MSD size and Large=SD size. I don't think the DD head are different in that way but l could be wrong.

Correct! DD heads do differ in size but for the most part, you can use the large size heads caps on just about every DD head. You may find one or two that are smaller or larger but usually not by enuff to make the headcaps not fit.

occasionally the limited character MDD heads will be smaller than DD heads

 

Totally measured the other day and Mari's head is smaller than Saber's. How much of a difference can half an inch be? LeekeWorld wig fit Saber's head perfectly with no problems, while on Mari it was flopping around all the time & had a whole lil "pocket" of empty air sticking out

Mostly it depends on how much size difference you are talking about. I measured two DDH 01 heads we have (one was ordered for the DD, one for the DDS) and they are the exact same size, however proportion wise the DDS head on the MDD body isn't the same scale and gives the bobblehead affect. Additionally when I put the larger head on the smaller body, there is a gap between the neck and the indent for the neck in the bottom of the head that isn't there when I use the MDD head on the MDD body.

 

As for the different sizes between sculpts, I have noticed even in the sculpt database there seems to be a huge variety in head sizes.
