American Model Clothing?

Does anyone know if American Model clothing would fit a Dollfie Dream body?

 

I'm asking because I kind of want to make some stuff for other people's Dollfie Dreams for awhile, sort of like a little charity while I get my sewing skills back up to par. It would give me something to work towards (and motivation to stay awake during my days off and more reason to obsessively collect fabric).

 

That part's probably a dumb idea. But remember, Elle has a compulsive need to be generous, but she's kind of going through some rough times, which is making it hard otherwise.

 

I have a rough idea about the SD/SD-13 to DD comparison (really rough), so I can probably start working from some of those patterns, and I have numeral comparisons for MDD to dolls I normally work with to dolls for which I have dedicated patterns.

 

But right now, I just want to know about American Model to DD. Anyone know or know where I can find measurements for comparison? Anyone willing to be a guinea pig if not?

It looks like the American Model waist and wrists are too small.

I thought there would be a bit of resizing involved. I just wasn't sure how much.

Here's a pic of my medium bust DDII body wearing a Tonner American Model dress ("Worth Mentioning" is the name of the fashion):

 

 

The waist of the dress falls right at the doll's waist (the narrowest part). The dress snaps all the way closed without any straining of the fabric, and the dress fits snugly at the waist without being tight, as you can see in the next pic. But the DDII med bust is much lower and smaller than the American Model's:

 

 

The doll's bust point is at the black arrow. This dress has princess seams. The top part of the bodice is empty here. The top of the dress also comes almost all the way up to the base of the doll's neck. Too high! And the dress is cutting into her underarms.

 

This isn't the best example for comparing fit, because it is a very forgiving dress, with no sleeves and no fitted hips. Basically, I would say the DDII med bust has a shorter torso above the waist and a lower, smaller bust.

 

I couldn't find a decent pic of a Tonner Model wearing this, so here is one of my resin BJDs filling it out:

 

You can see the princess seam pretty clearly here. The top of the dress is in its proper place.

The dress looks nice on both doll bodies.

Thanks. It does fit the DDII nicely in the waist and hips. But I would love to find out if a shapely large bust DDII or a DDdy would fill out that bodice!

It would be interesting to see it on a larger DD bust. I wish I could help you out, I have DDs with larger chests, but no camera.
