New style for Rise

As I mentioned elsewhere, Rise wasnt exactly working as Rise Kujikawa, and seeing how nice the new Sakura DD looked added a bit to my angst.

 

However, I slapped myself since I remembered that I had a similar outfit in storage, and with a new wig with a minor personal touch tried to bring out some potential.

 

Im in favor of asymetric character designs for some reason, so I decided just to braid one of the side bangs.

 

This is a bit of a work in progress, since I still plan on changing the eye's, but not well enough funded at the moment to shop around for such things yet, since I want something outside the volks range.

 

Most likely will go with my typical thing, and try to get a pair of deep blue ones

 

But here's the idea so far:

 

Outfit: Mashiro's hakama set, Wig: Purple puppet suigintou style, with added little braid and ribbon.

 

 

Eventhough the hakama set was sold as compatible for S-bust its clearly a bit too big on the top for Rise.

I'll probably try and fiddle my own bathrobe designs, and perhaps make a own version of the barrel-obi worn by Sakura.

 

I didnt remember the geta's in the set being such murder to pose with, and rise took two swandives onto her head as a result before actual shooting, having to reset the wig as a result.. heh.

 

But I am happy to report, just with getting her out of character mode, is letting her work better.

I originally meant to do this as a photostory, with Rise going to Shino for help with getting a bit more pizazze into her look, and Shino was naturally more than happy to help with various options, here are two frames out of the written script I decided were so amusing I didnt want to let pass:

I love the Mashiro Hakama set. It looks really great on Rise too, especially with the long blonde wig. I like the single braid idea too, pretty cool detail that helps her look different.

 

And I have to say that your Shino RULES! Her ideas for attention grabbing outfits are perfect.

Yea, Shino can be a bit of a firecracker.

 

Thats just two frames I had thaught up though, it was meant to slowly go down a long line of outfits, starting with sabers maid getup, and after a few no-no's shino decides to get a bit more... serious.

 

Actually a bit sad I didnt go through with it now, but I was a bit impatient to see if I could polish up Rise's looks. (yes, sakura really had that bad of an effect.)

 

the pearl silver wig does make an impact, but needed the little braid to differentiate (sp?) from 'gintou who has the exact same wig. Im thinking of maybe a leeke himecut in either the same color, or raven black that might set off the planned blue eyes better.

 

Maybe even cat ears, but will have to see if thats pushing it too far.. heh.

 

Its actually amusing since I now have rise on display between my Shino and 'Gintou, that how similar their head molds are, with Rise just having much fuller lips, and the detailed nose. Near triplets.

A quick little update here...

 

as I said in another rise makeover thread I was experimenting with volks acrylics, and thaught the end result was a bit too wild looking, see below for proof:

 

This pair was especially amusing since the other eye's iris is slighty bigger than the others, so she ended even looking like she had a partial head trauma.

 

Luckily I was digging through my parts bin, and found a pair of custom resin eyes in a floating head by Koburin (I think thats the name... was a very small logo on the pouch).

 

Their Lilac in color, and 22mm in size, which is way too big for Rise to look normal, but I do like the fairy type look they give her.

 

Also as an added bonus they do the "Follow you" thing.

 

 

Auto color correction made them look a bit more deeper than they are in reality, and Id wish for a more blue hue, but for something found in a drawer they do make a nice touch. (waaaay better than the acrylics)

 

I think I can start calling her by her stage name "Audrey" from now on... heh.

Oooh, the custom resin eyes are spiffy!! I love that they follow you!

 

Yeah... that was my problem with resin-style eyes... they got *way* too starey if the pupils and everything isn't just right! Head trauma indeed! My Rise looked the same way as I tried eyes in here, LOL!!!

She is so beautiful with those mesmerizing purple eyes!
