Error-Chan Posted August 28, 2012 I seem to have a problem with my MDD. Her inner skeleton does not like to stay together. The joint joining the chest the her lower hath. The peg can go into the hole but its like the hole is not the right size. Is there anything I can do to fix this? for reference in this photo below its the size 13cm where the joint is Thank you for helping =)
Anna-neko Posted August 28, 2012 Lets get the obvious check out of the way - have you checked for cracks? Most common issue (happened with my MDD too) is the small things holding internal parts together have cracked. Either completely in half, or just on one side. The bit holding torso to hips is a round little ..err.. donut shape. Pretty easy to pop out to check (when in doubt, take pictures! The board helps better when we see stuff) And the easiest way to fix these things is epoxy (the stuff made for plastic/vinyls). Comes in a funny package that looks like 2 tubes. You squeeze stuff out from both tubes, mix and apply. To either fix a crack or thicken a joint which will then stay inside whatever better
Error-Chan Posted August 28, 2012 Heres a photo. I think the previos owner used glew to try an fix it or something theres a lot of debris in there. So what do you lot think of this then? can I fix this? IMG_0889 by ErrorObitsuChan, on Flickr

Anna-neko Posted August 29, 2012 That does look pretty messy... so aside from the super-awesome link comment above just posted (great tutorial, use it!) I just took a couple quick shots of my own MDD's internals (PM me if u want me to take more pics and whatnot) What the torso bit is supposed to be. Nice and clean, the 'crack' line thru the middle is just 2 halves together The hip section, with the part most likely to crack sticking up. That bit is how torso attaches to hips. The doll can't be w/out it The part itself! On my girl it tends to get stuck in the torso section when I pull her apart ... but you can see the crack on the further side. This is what breaks quickest and first... Thats the part you're gonna be epoxy~ing PS: totally took the pic of it upside down.. the narrower bit goes into hips, the wider bigger bit is up into torso ^^;

Can I get a new one at all? This MDD was for my 21st and Christmas present so Now I am regretting getting her T^T broken neck in the mail badly stained head and now missing things
Anna-neko Posted August 29, 2012 um.. they don't sell these parts separately.. Its part of the internal 'skeleton' when you buy the doll <_<;; Maybe you could improvise with a similar part from a hardware store? There's gotta be all sorts of hardware thats round and similarly small... ... Y!J reveals someone tried to make a replacement! http://page9.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k150950152
