Thank you for all the pictures, Mitsuki! They are so helpful. I feel like I understand a lot more about how these dolls work now.

Everyone's comments are helpful too.

I gave these measurements to Alice collections and they notice that first set of measurements says waist is 18.5, but second one says 14.5. Is that a typo?. Should I go with 14.5 as waist as it is from Volks site?

The DDI (first version) had a bigger waist. The DDII has the 14.5 cm waist.

Thank you for your quick reply! Is Saber Alter and Saber Extra DIII waist like the DII (14.5)?

DDIII may even have a smaller waist. They seem to have longer torsos.

Thank you for posting pictures, I see the difference in them, but still really close. I am going to reply with 14.5 waist, I think it will be a good fit. Thanks again for your help!

So, I've been striking out trying to find this, but what ARE the measurements for a DDS?

It's hard to tell from the comparison images how much smaller than the ddII it is.

This has been kind of driving me nuts, as well. Does anybody have a picture of the DDII, DDS, and MDD standing together?

Not that this will help right now but I do plan to make a post in the very near future with a DDI, DDII, DDdy and DDS all posed together for comparisons. Since I got back Rei's original DDI body at Xmas, I've been wanting to do this post to help others but I keep forgetting about it.

But I'll write it down now and get to doing it within a week or two if I can.

Interesting to note the different points of articulation. It gives me a better idea of how to pose Tana a bit better in the future! Eventually, I do need to give her the neck mod I've seen before. What other "mods" are out there?

I have seen arm mods like the neck one for increased range of motion. The most drastic one I have seen is replacement of the outer vinyl parts with silicone versions which gave tremendous increase in poseability. I also seen a complex wrist modification that gave much better range of motion but involved quite a bit of work to do it.

I've seen that one, where there's a screw that is straight into the wrist, giving a full rotation for it... Dunno if I'm ready for that much of a mod yet... Right now, I'd be happy to have Tana look a little higher when she's laying down..

The DDIII torso isn't all that much longer compared to the DDII. There is a slight difference, but a lot of the time the difference is due to one or both of two things:

1. The DDII spine/waist joint has a tendency to compress slightly as the joint sections are small enough to fold into one another inside of the lower torso section without any external visible signs. This is easily remedied by removing the upper torso and gently realigning the spine joints. It's entirely possible for a DDII to temporarily lose an entire 1cm in height because of this joint! DDII girls of any age may be prone to this issue, however, the ones who pose a lot or are a little older are at higher risk of spinal compression, luckily it's easy to fix.

2. The DDIII's upper torso frame is not seated all the way. The upper part of the lower torso skin extends up to cover the upper torso frame, sometimes these "frame coverings" can get caught on the shoulder blade/wings, preventing the upper frame from seating all the way. It's also possible for one or the other "frame covering" to get caught in the space between the upper and lower frames, sticking in the joint and preventing the joint from seating, this also makes it impossible to horizontally turn the waist joint, as it will stick and move back. My Momo (Moe 2nd) came in her box with the first problem, and when I corrected it, I ended up accidentally causing the second. These 2 conditions can potentially cause a .5-1cm increase in height for the DDIII!

The easiest way to prevent both of these situations is to ensure the upper frame is in place before placing the bust part onto it, which is the opposite to the way we're all familiar with handling the DDII bodies.

The DDIIIDy is even more prone to the upper frame/lower torso skin sections conflicting due to the placement of the skin joint. Also, due to the more robust size of the spine/waist joints of the DDS/DDIII/DDIIIDy, joint compression is much less likely than with DDII.

I was wondering if I could get some help with sewing measurements for the DDS (and I am hoping this is the right thread to post this), I need the following measurements bust, waist, hips, arm length from shoulder to wrist, torso length (shoulder to waist) and waist to knee. I searched the forum but I was unable to really find what I needed ^^;
