OtakuDepot Posted May 9, 2011 I've been really bad about getting around to take pictures of my girls over the past few weeks. A few weeks ago my girls were very happy to receive necklaces from our very own Balldylox and they have been wanting to show them off. I finally got around to taking some pictures of them and wanted to make sure I got them online for people to see. My girls have been very patient with me over the last few weeks and I don't want to push my luck any further. Thank you again to Balldylox for his fantastic gift, my girls really love them. **James Otaku Depot's growing family. “Give a man a fire and he's warm for a day, but set fire to him and he's warm for the rest of his life.” ― Terry Pratchett, Jingo
baldylox Posted May 9, 2011 FINALLY!! I'm just kidding.... I'm so glad you took some pics of your girls with their necklaces! They look really nice! Yukino has such a nice shirt on... the necklace works well with that. Sakura's kitty paw one suits her well, I'm glad I went with that one for her. And Saber is looking most excellent! Where did you get that top she's wearing? I love that look for her! You and your girls are most welcome sir. I'm glad I could help you out a little. Making those was fun and it's even better seeing them on your daughters! Thanks for the pics! Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop. OtakuDepot Posted May 9, 2011 Thank you both. I'm glad I got off my lazy butt and started taking photos of my girls again. It was a lot of fun - somehow I forgot that part. haha And Saber is looking most excellent! Where did you get that top she's wearing? I love that look for her! That's one of the Cool Cats pieces I got many months ago. I have the same thing in about 3 colors I think. haha It's one of their one piece outfits. Here's the link: http://us.sk-coolcat.com/front/bin/ptdetail.phtml?Part=dan03_2 I'd really like to get a nice little chain/belt for her waist while wearing it. I think that would look nice. **James. Thanks for the link! I always wondered how nice those would look in person so having seen Saber in one, I can say I may buy one or two in the future. As for the belt/chain for her waist, hit up Walmart, Books A Million and/or Barnes and Noble. I found some neat bracelets at Wally World for 5 bucks each that I use as belts. Go and look in their jewelry section the next time you're there. I also got a bracelet for 5 bucks at BAM that is made of leather, is adjustable and has little brass "peace" symbols all the way around it. It also looks good as a belt. I found it right up by the cash registers and check out area. Barnes and Noble also carries small hardback books that are similar in scale to our girls and thats also where I got my little martini glasses from. Just keep your eyes open and all sorts of things make themselves available for DD use! Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop. OtakuDepot Posted May 9, 2011 Thanks for the info Balldylox! I may have to actually go out of the house this coming weekend and look for some. I may want to get some of those tools you have to try working with jewlery to shorted chains so I can get a custom fit. wow nice necklaces, your girls looks so lovely in the pictures Thanks Otakusan. I've been having problems with the white balance on my recent pics and I'm pretty sure I've found that it's because my rooms walls are green and my girls were too close to the wall and getting some strange color on them as the light bounced off it. hehe I'm going to have to get a white backdrop or something for that area. For these I moved them away from the walls and was much happier with the color in the shots. Plus I didn't have to spend so much time in Adobe Lightroom trying to correct it. **James Otaku Depot's growing family. “Give a man a fire and he's warm for a day, but set fire to him and he's warm for the rest of his life.” ― Terry Pratchett, Jingo

I may want to get some of those tools you have to try working with jewlery to shorted chains so I can get a custom fit. It will be worth it to go and check. You've seen mine before and I think they work really well. As far as tools go, do you mean you need to change the lengths of the necklaces I sent? Are they not sitting well on the girls? Sorry about that if that's what you mean. I got mine at Lowes. They were in a set and ran about $30-$40. Well worth it since they are so small. They make it easier to work on small items like jewelry. Make sure to get those long needle nosed pliers with a rounded set on tongs. It makes for easy bending and shaping of links and such. If Lowes doesnt have them or you dont have that store near you, Home Depot may have them. If not, a hobby store should have them too. Good luck! Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Yes, I've got a DSLR and have played with the WB but the trouble is the direct light will be straight flash, sometimes I'll use a 1/4 CTO (Color Temperature Orange) gel on the flash but then the light bounces off the green wall in the back and I have multiple colors of light. When I move away from the wall - yea!!! auto WB works wonders again. haha I think I'm going to get some poster board and create a white background in that area - much easier than painting the whole room. As far as tools go, do you mean you need to change the lengths of the necklaces I sent? Are they not sitting well on the girls? Sorry about that if that's what you mean. Don't worry, the necklaces are perfect. My comment was if I got another chain from Walmart as a belt I'm guessing I'd have to adjust it to fit my girls but I don't have the tool I'd need. I should get one though. I did buy 2 chains off Ebay and they are nice but they come almost down to my girls waist! haha **James Otaku Depot's growing family. “Give a man a fire and he's warm for a day, but set fire to him and he's warm for the rest of his life.” ― Terry Pratchett, Jingo
baldylox Posted May 16, 2011 Huh... the bracelets I use didn't need to be adjusted at all. I guess if I wanted a certain look I'd have to but they both seem to work well for me now. I'm sure you can find the tools you'll need tho, they're easy to find. Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.
