Price check!

I wasn't quite sure where to put this so mods please move as need be.

 

I'm not 100% sure just yet but I think I will need to split my incoming Sakura Wars DD (she's coming from Kerbey Lane), basically I would be keeping everything but the body. What would a fair price be for the body, I believe she cost $810 total (I put 1/2 down) ?

 

I'd prefer to keep the body, splitting it out would be a last resort and I won't know for sure if I have to or not until early October (I have an appointment for extensive dental work then and I'm not sure how much that is going to run me) so I am just trying to figure out rough value now. Thanks ^^;

Isn't that a bit too high? I thought most recent splits were putting the DD3 and DDdy3 bodies at $320-$350 max. $400 seems to be taking advantage of the body shortage to me.

Ive seen used DDII's sell for $300 recently, new ones for more than that. And a couple of DDII's sold on dollfieworld for $400 each a few days ago. So $400 isnt unlikely for a brand new DDIII

Well, DW is ALWAYS high on prices so they aren't a good measurement tool in my opinion. I find actual sales from Ebay, YJA, FFM and the forums to be a better gauge of market values.

Sheesh, that's highway robbery! I'll admit I hadn't added up the total costs of parts thru Volks International or Volks US lately so I guess that's why I'm off a bit. But still, I haven't seen these bodies SELLING at $400 yet.... asking prices are all over the place but actual selling prices on the aftermarket seem to be lower than $400 from what I've seen. But I guess I can't ever hope to see ALL the sales of DD bodies nowadays.

Well, I do know that Volks has the Aoi and Yukino complete set for just over $500. It's complete with faceup head, wig, doll and a slip for it. And it's the DDIII body.

But they're never in-stock so it barely applies in comparison to the only available options...

I think that a dd body on auction would able to get around $400 on it while a buy it now price would probably be reasonable around the 250-350 range depending on the condition.

Thanks for the input on pricing everyone, I'm only going to sell the body as a last resort as I know acquiring another one for her further down the road would be an epic pain. If I do end up selling (I won't be asking $400, it'll be lower) I will definitely offer it here first via the splits section (had a couple of people quasi-ask about it already).Thanks

There weren't any DDII bodies available at any of the four Volks showrooms I went to this weekend, sadly. No DDS frame pieces either... however in better news there were lots and lots of DD3 parts.

 

Technically there was/is a DDII in the form of one Aoi v1, but she was 40K yen so probably more than you want to pay for just the body.

 

That DDII body would be over $500 USD.

 

With the DDIII parts adding up to quite a lot, it doesn't look like there are any options for getting bodies at a price anything like what DDII used to go for at retail from Volks USA.

 

It looks like DDIII parts were available but the critical torso internal frame piece is still hard to get. Can it really be that hard to go into hyper production to replenish this piece for everyone needing it?

Of course not, but lolvolks. They didn't even bother stocking the normal skin part because its listed under DDS NS line which they said they would not be restocking during said event. It just happened the WS version was available because it was "new".
