With the Saber pre-orders they gave a week to pay I believe so I'd say it'll be the same this time especially as they haven't specified the release date. Not everyone is online 24/7 and they know they have to account for that.

Probably September/October. At least based *solely* on the current delay for shipping the idolm@ster girls and what seem to be gaps in the event schedule.

I agree. I think that a September release seems pretty likely with the release schedule right now.

At the moment I almost don't even care when the girls will get here, its murder waiting for the initial notification! I'm getting so anxious!

So we're likely to have to pay for them in September then? This is bad news for me. I had an unexpected emergency surgery and so now I have a bunch of medical debt. Plus my husband can't work cuz he's taking care of me. I don't want to whine to you guys, but things aren't looking good for me to be able to pay for my Kos Mos. Makes me sad, I really wanted her.

 

I kinda don't wanna give up my order right this second in case I can figure something out, but the likelihood of that is slim-to-none. What do you guys think is the likelihood of me being able to split everything off but her head and both eyes? That way I could just get a body later.... Also, if I wait too long and they ban my account (something I'd like to avoid) can I just create a new account? What do they remember your account based on?

you are right my bad. the comment was actually more aimed at the people that decided to spend on another doll and now are complaining about it

I will have to do that if I can't find any other route, but ideally I'd like to at least get her head since I did order her myself all those months ago. I wanted her for her sculpt, not her character. But I don't want to have to pay secondary market prices for her head since I did order her. I dunno, I have to think about it, but it's a bit stressful since the deadline is approaching.

I'm personally hoping it's more towards October, simply because then they'll arrive closer to my birthday in Nov.

 

That is one issue with pre-orders being so far in advance, is it does give more time for emergencies to crop up. We've been seriously lucky this year, but there have been times in the past where unexpected falls or other medical issues have popped up out of nowhere and taken huge chunks out of savings so I can understand your predicament, Jezrah. Hopefully you recover quickly.

@Jezrah - hope you get better soon. I too can kinda relate to your dilemna and I am hoping they don't ask us to pay till October since my having to go on mat leave hasn't left me that much extra as I had hoped for that and some unexpected expenses have put a dent on my Dollieh savings too. So keeping my fingers crossed that it won't be till October.

October would give me more time to assess how screwed up our finances are. I didn't have health insurance since my husband is self employed, so now I have to turn in a loooot of paperwork. The hospital wants the state to cover it, but they will if the state won't. The state makes it as hard as possible to get approved.

 

Maternity leave is tough too. A lot of people can't even get any anymore, and when you can your budget gets tighter. Stupid system. Do they expect the babies to raise themselves?

That's too bad about the state not covering it. I hope you get it all sorted out soon though.

 

As for my Mat leave, its not that bad as I might have made it sound because at least where I work, they do cover 60% and employee insurance covers the remaing 40% for about 6 months. After that its just the E.I. but its just base pay, no premiums or differentials from shift work that add up to a pretty penny. Also no overtime pay. My DD spending I can usually justify by doing OT to save up. Being pregnant though, I can't do any OT since I'm tired all the time and its hard to move. So no OT, no DD budget. And I had to dig in to what I saved for KOS and Momo because of an emergency. Sigh. Can't be helped though. I am very thankful for the paid leave because like you said some people can't even get them. But yeah, October would be more ideal. Oh well, fingers crossed.

Sorry to hear of your troubles Jezrah, it is really hard to hold on to DD funds in cash when the wait time is so darn long. I really wish they had an early payment system so they everyone can guarantee their buy (And save a little on exchange rate if the time is right )

Of course life always takes a priority over hobbies, but at least playing first will ensure everyone get their dolls instead of last minute disappointments after all this arduous waiting for our precious.

I really hope you get to keep Kosmos' head!

 

On another note, did anyone notice Volks have posted an update on the DD blog about the latest prototype of KOS-MOS' Gatling Gun. Seems like they have improved the weight (or rather lightness) of the weapon!

Does this preview actually mean the release is round the corner? ?

I hope so. I think they can focus on her now more now that the last lottery is over. And with the release of the Miku promo, maybe KOS-MOS will get more attention.

Well, if they just finished working out the guns, then they still have to make all of those... Still I really would love more updates on where they are in the process with the dolls themselves and everything else. It's fall now, and all the info we still have is "fall"... Even some more pictures of the prototypes would be awesome at this point. I'm pretty sure that I remember with Saber they gave out a lot more progress reports and arrival estimates, even if those tended to end up being way off.

Yeah, all the updates I have are of old pictures of KOS-MOS in different wigs that I pulled from the blogs.

 

My guess is that they'll bill in October and ship in November, since so far, they've been pretty heads-down about the Xenosaga DD's.

 

I'm curious to see what the actual wig color will be on Kos -- I've seen her in brilliant blue, and then in a lighter blue on two separate photographs. While not true to the character, I like the more brilliant blue.

I'm so amazed by how the Asuna doll was rolled out right away, but the Xenosaga dolls are a loooooooooooooooooong wait.
