elsii Posted October 18, 2013 *twiddles thumbs* Ugh, I don't even have an official pre-order but I am trading with someone who does... Hurry up darn it! I wants mah MOMO! Wonder how quickly those tights will stain. instagram | twitter | tumblr | flickr
SisterKyoya Posted October 18, 2013 Wonder how quickly those tights will stain. Ug, I have been concerned about those tights since I started seriously thinking about Momo. I have been considering doing my own version on fabrics that I have already tested and I know they don't stain after a couple of weeks. If I did, they would be available in my DD shop once it's open and after I have a chance to check out my husband's Momo. Volks disregard in the fact that their clothes can stain the very dolls they produce is something I simply do not understand. ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram

Of course some custom made non-staining ones could be very tempting instagram | twitter | tumblr | flickr

SakuraSylph Posted October 19, 2013 There was a sign in the Volks shop today that said KOS and MOMO would be shipping out in mid-November. Just in case this is more specific news than what the website has been telling folks who ordered. SakuraSylph

SisterKyoya Posted October 19, 2013 i still havent received my invoice >_< At least you are in good company because I feel the same. I think after this it will have to be one dang special girl for me to do a preorder. SakuraSylph Posted October 19, 2013 At least you are in good company because I feel the same. I think after this it will have to be one dang special girl for me to do a preorder. Much less stressful just getting them in the aftermarket. Wait.. I don't understand. Since the Xenosaga dolls are preorders you have a guaranteed doll, and all one needs do is sit tight until she's delivered. In theory that should be the least stressful doll purchase ever, requiring only patience, not luck or a bankroll. Unless someone is moving house right around the delivery time, I suppose, in which case coordination with Volks would be in order. What is it about this Xenosaga order that you find more stressful than entering lotteries or going after a DD at dolpa? SakuraSylph

Ravendruid Posted October 19, 2013 There are some people for whom waiting is just about the hardest thing you can ask. Patience, apparently, was not doled out in equal measure. I think that the whole not knowing 100% that the dolls will absolutely be here is starting to wear on certain people. That, and having to sit on the money until Volks finally allows us to give it to them, and the constant nagging worries in the back of the mind along the lines of "what do I do, if for some reason there's a problem with the payment, or the card doesn't go through.... etc." For some people, waiting and all the myriad uncertainties that are constantly floating around inside their heads can be just about the most stressful thing in the world, and the longer it goes on, especially with little information on when it will change, the more it builds up. Those people would actually rather pay a premium price than have to deal with the nagging insecurities for as long. I think that if throughout the process we were given a lot more specific information regarding timing and schedules, even if that information had to be adjusted occasionally, it would make the process a lot easier to endure. Jezrah Posted October 19, 2013 I wasn't having trouble waiting, and then they mentioned payment. So now I'm anxiously awaiting the payment info email, so I can hand them money. After that I won't be as anxious anymore. I know that if I pay them I'll get it eventually. But also, if they had never mentioned payment at all yet I probably wouldn't be as irritated as I am right now. Please just take my money, Volks!
TheWhiteRabbit Posted October 19, 2013 I certainly don't mind waiting for the ease of a preorder. I love that I am guaranteed my doll. Yukamina Posted October 20, 2013 The long wait must be exhausting, but getting the doll you want for sure is great. If they were released through lottery and I lost, I'd hate having to search for available ones second hand, especially with second hand market prices... I can't afford having to spend an extra $200+ for a doll simply because I missed buying directly from Volks Which makes me really glad that Miku is preorder too, because she's a must have for me. I don't know if I'm surprised or not that Volks is taking so long to email people for payment. They always seem to be delayed in everything! SakuraSylph Posted October 20, 2013 Huh. Impatience because you want your spiffy doll to hurry up and get here, that I can see. It's been a year so 'tis about time for the waiting to be over, right? And it's the last few weeks that are the hardest ones to endure, which is where we are right now. I think I understand you there. Maybe I can address some of the worries you had though, just based on my experiences shopping at Volks in so many different ways. -The dolls will 100% come, in the quantity you ordered. -Lack of status updates is the normal for Volks. They have a ton of preorders going at the same time (DDs, doll heads, wigs, charagumin) from many different sources (web, fanbooks, volks news, SD owners, etc), in addition to all the regular production items. Busy, busy people! So, putting in your order and then hearing nothing until it's time to pick up is par for the course. Maybe knowing that it's expected helps? -Sitting on the money until Volks wants it should be a plus, I would think. You can keep it in your savings account and earn interest or in your brokerage account and earn dividends. Heck, with the online banks (like Ally or CapOne360), you can open up a new savings account with a few clicks and name it Xenosaga Dolls, so that your money isn't even conflated with your regular monthly cash flow if you want. -Volks is actually really understanding when it comes to payment and shipping challenges. As long as you're trying to follow through on your commitments to purchase, they'll work with you to get the job done however is necessary. This applies to both VolksUSA and Volks Japan in my experience. So, if there are card processing problems, this can and will be resolved between you and the company. I don't speak directly for Volks, but I can say that I've had nothing but good experiences with them (aside from losing on lotteries sometimes, that is ). SisterKyoya Posted October 20, 2013 For me my growing frustration is not because I'm worried about the girls somehow vanishing, but having to remember that it's one more thing to take care of at least three or four times a day is like mentally hitting myself in the head with a rubber mallet. After a while it's just really frustrating and irritating as anything. It was a lot better when everything was more pending, before we reached what seemed like the Fall 2013 deadline, before wondering what's going on and when everything is due. As I've said before, I'm not very good at waiting and I never have been. I used to drive my family totally nuts before my birthday and Christmas because I'd get so excited that I couldn't contain it. They would have shoved me in a tin can and kept me there if they could have. I've hardly been on the forums because I'm working really hard on some DD projects and have been putting in long hours again. I'm really proud of what I'm accomplishing but it's going slower than I'd like, making me feel a bit stuck in more of my personal life. I just really want Kos-Mos and Momo to get here so I feel like I can actually have some kind of reward for the months of work I've been putting towards the different things it takes to get my DD store set up. If there is another preorder girl later that I want I'm sure I'll have no problem jumping in right away with both feet, it's just at the moment I'm feeling frustrated. I just kinda wish Volks Int. had the option to pay anytime between 'Fall 2013' and the ship by date. Without this thread I'd be going crazy that somehow I missed the email and somehow screwed up my preorder. ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram

SisterKyoya Posted October 22, 2013 I have a question for those who know something about Xenosaga (I've only seen the anime)... In the Volks version of Momo's tights they are black and red, but I've found some other images that have the pattern being gray, or gray with a very mild red color cast to it. Could someone give me a clue as the 'most accurate' version? Even in the 3 pics I found the pattern itself is distinctly different between all of them so I'm even confused over if it should be simple or a highly detailed picture. (Personally I'd go for the higher detail just because I can.) I've never even played the games so I'm feeling as if I'm flying blind on this one and I don't want to rely just on what Volks has done if I'm going to attempt to do my own version. Another thing I've been wondering is the tights themselves. Would people prefer thigh high stockings, or full tights that go to the waist? Some pics would be highly helpful because I stink at keyword searches... ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram

Volks choose the original art version because its much more lively. it pops out. even her butterfly stockings pop out. they could have used a darker red like burgundy but then it wouldnt grab attention like it does now making my triumphant return
