I'm not familiar with this series, but what beautiful character designs! Gosh, Kos-Mos looks like she'd be an expensive DD. Considering how much the original Saber and Saber Lily cost, plus the recent Volks USA price increase . . . ouch! Shion and Momo look quite cute though, I'd love to see one of them too. ^^

 

Sheesh, I haven't even gotten my Saber Extra yet, I must be a glutton for punishment! Hopefully, for the sake of my wallet, it will just be a $1000+ DD Kos-Mos and I can save my money for Aoko.

I'm assuming, seeing as this has perfect timing, that this will play out just like the Sabers did.

Yeah because I think the market is being diluted with Sabers now (can see it happening everywhere! Mandarake, Ebay, Figure.fm etc). There's increasing supply which will drive the prices down. Good for people who are after her on the 2nd hand market =)

Yes, I would like that part of the Saber Pre-Order not to be repeated. A limit would be wonderful. There was a high demand in the first place, and then add people who are buying multiple of each DD just for resale, and it gets messy fast.

I am hoping even though KOS-MOS is popular that she'll be no where near their demand because A) True accessories will make her price very high (I mean I'm storing away $1200+ just for her...I'm expecting a price higher than Lily's here.), and that scares off a lot of folks usually. Even if Volks offered the layaway option again on VolksUSA that price could keep some folks away. B) She isn't a re-release of a mold that already had a giant demand due to huge fanbase and years in between releases, and last but not least C) She isn't a Saber. XD

I agree, limiting the preorder doll(s) and outfit(s) to one per person would make a lot of sense and would cut down on the orders from resellers. I was really surprised that Volks didn't limit the Saber preorders at all! Making the order period a little shorter would probably help too.

 

And Gunter, that is a good point about popularity and price of Kos-Mos vs. Saber. And goodness knows that a lot of people wanted a Saber!

 

I'm sure the 11 month wait for my Saber Extra will be worth it, but I'd rather not repeat it, y'know? If I take place in this preorder, you'd better believe I won't be waiting as long to order this time.

I actually would expect KOS-MOS to be more popular than Saber overall. Kos figures still sell out all the time.

Hmmm...okay. It is just that the Fate series is still ongoing and has several incarnations. Xenosaga was quite limited; EU did not even get all of the games. It has been a long time since Xenosaga III (I don't count Nintendo..lol). Yet the characters are still popular and beloved.

 

No biggie either way. This is a win for all the fans, just as Saber is.

It would take a very long time for Monolith Soft to build KOS-MOS' reputation to the level that TYPE-MOON has for that single character, our dear "King of Knights."

I won't go into details because I realized every time I do it becomes quite the wall of text.

...Anyone else wondering when they'll throw up the site? It has been about a week since the blog post about it. *is being impatient* I really want to know if we are gonna get an actual KOS-MOS and if she'll come with her true accessories or if they'll cop-out and do something else...like what they did with Saber Alter...

The Volks store had the very same Xenosaga "coming soon" ad displayed as a B2 size poster near the DD section. Alas, no further information was available in-person yet either from displays or the shop clerk. At least it didn't hurt to ask ^_^.

I'd say something around the price of Saber Extra - additional boots and some armor...

Her weapons are listed under additional "DD accessories" so the "basic fullset" shouldn't be very expensive.
