browsing through momo and kosmos photos, both are indeed beautiful.. and if volks were to make them very accurate,, i have to rip off my bank to get kos mos..

I don't think it's more complicated than, say, dress of Saber Extra.

And probably many parts may be made from plastic and that's significantly cheaper and faster than sewing a dress with gold embroidery, epaulets and such.

 

Embroydery is mostly done with machines I think, even with volks (for instance the hakuryu patch on my muv-luv seifuku seems to be machine done, and that was from 2007-ish).

 

Plastics can be more expensive than first imagined, making molds and whatnots that can handle injection forming dont came cheap. For instance Cirno's party trick was just a pair of wings, and loads of little ice beads, but she wound up as the most expensive MDD to date. (Granted the dress is very detailed too)

 

But its the little details that are the killer, you have a lot more of them than on extra, or even the first two sabers.

 

Belts, buckles, and braces more than you could count for starters. and then you get to the android bits.

 

But my guess is definately 80+k yen price tag, would not be surprised at a 100k with options.

saw pne of thos lego dobleepentaries the other day. first is the mould itself cost 4000 usd. then comes the human hand finesanding and shiet another 1000. and then finally 500 to hook it up to the machine. thats for the mould itself. before that there is r&d and lotsa testingwhich can easily be as much as a couple a gran

But Volks has own design studios and own casting factory, and that's totally different cost than outsourcing these things.

Kosuke Kitahara already sculpted a big 1/4 (~43cm) KOS-MOS figure long ago.

Volks casted it from resin and sold painted for ~60k JPY.

There's definitely more complexity to the outfit than any of the Sabers. I wonder how much the separate weapons will affect the price.

I just hope that the real pictures doesn't take long to appear. The Sakura Taisen DD took too much time IMO.

They are from the best video game ever made IMHO.

They'll probably reveal them fairly soon, since they've been hyping them on the Japanese blog so much lately.

So, how soon are we talking? Also, do we pre order the dolls on the Japanese website?
