DefectiveAngel Posted October 15, 2012 That's just pure craziness! It's kinda like why even bother to do this pre-order if they are restricting the US to just one girl and not allowing both to be released here. They might as well made these girls lottery items, then restricted the lottery to Volks Japan like they did with the Idol Master girls and so on. The only thing I can think of is this is Volks way of buffering down the pre-orders for these girls. They have assumed less interest on Momo so better for a US release. Less US orders to fill, the better for Volks. Which in reality is really lame, instead of having that no limit on pre-orders like they did with the Sabers, they need to put a quanity limit. If they did that I think overall it would be best for everyone. That way everyone would then have a fair chance of getting either girls from Volks Japan or Volks US. scripple Posted October 15, 2012 Out of curiosity has anyone asked Volks USA about this? DId they feel the Saber preorders were too much for their staff to handle inspection, packing, and shipping wise? It did take them a long time to get them all shipped after they arrived in the USA. I suspect it's a Volks JP decision, but it just seems an odd one given everyone can still order, they just have to order from Japan. I wonder if the big and heavy box KOS MOS will no doubt have is considered to be too expensive to eat the shipping on between Japan and USA. Who knows. I don't really see this as a major crisis though. As long as people in USA can still order it from Japan it's not a tragedy. Yeah, the shipping and price will be a bit more, but it's not that huge given Volks USA recently adjusted their prices and Volks USA is not legendary for their affordable shipping fees. Misheru Posted October 15, 2012 That doesn't even make sense. Either you have the license or you don't. DJStarstryker Posted October 15, 2012 0_O seriously? That's a huge shot in the foot... Was shipping lolis cheaper or something? There is a possibility that KOS-MOS is just harder to make, and they wanted to reduce the number they have to make. But I don't see why they'd have to do it this way. They could always just do no pre-orders for US store and instead ship a limited number to VolksUSA, running it like a usual sort of lottery. I don't really believe that post though. Generally the only reason they don't release outside of Japan is for licensing reasons. And they'd probably get either both dolls or none. Not just one. I guess we'll see for sure once Volks themselves announces it in a place we can all see (like on a web page). Are you ready to rock? ^_^
Ultimaknight Posted October 15, 2012 Interesting. But I'll wait for official word. I've emailed Volks JP and USA before about stuff and get cryptic responses that usually don't answer my question. I mean if they were gonna release that information in an email why not just make it official on their website? Plus what about Volks Korea. No mention of what they will be going regarding their ordering. jadepixel Posted October 15, 2012 I suspect it's that the US staff was a bit overwhelmed by Saber preorders. Those also had a lot of issues with broken torso parts, and I can only imagine how many tiny plastic pieces they'd have to check over for a KOSMOS DD ^_^;; By limiting it to Japan's site, they'll have a bigger staff handy and better access to replacement parts if needed. And they haven't blocked US residents from applying, like the Touhou and other preorders, so it should still be easy to acquire KOSMOS. jadepixel doll lab jadepixel eye shop

RaveOfNightmares Posted October 15, 2012 I'd like to see the official news or a screen shot of this email first... Until then, I call BS =| I'll second this. Besides, it's not like they'd be blocking us out if they did that anyway, since we could just do the pre-order through the Japan/International site. I order/enter lotteries through the Japan site all the time anyway as I prefer their shopping cart over VolksUSA's cart any day. In my opinion, VolksUSA needs to step their shopping cart game up. 21 DD girls: Mio, Marina, Yui, Yoko, Nia, Lily, Arisu, Akina, Momo, Arisa, Yukina, Ayaka, Niimi, Eri, Millefeuille, Ekisu, Chitose, Miyabi, KOS-MOS v.4, Hatsune Miku and God Eater Alisa. 2B in a hopeful future. Mahoro Posted October 15, 2012 I don't understand the big fushaw over this presumed news even if it is true, its not like they're blocking anyone anyway. Volks is just another company we are not to understand its modus operandi, just like how none of us can figure out Nikon and Canon for their unfathomably bad business choices sometimes either. The prolem is mostly that they accepted orders for the Sabers, and they both were often shipped for lower price in the same carton box within US, while it's not possible if Momo is from USA and Kos Mos in Japan. You'll be charged of 2 (expensive) shipping costs. ✩ 𝓥𝓲𝓬𝓽𝓲𝓶 𝓸𝓯 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓑𝓮𝓵𝓵𝓪𝓭𝓸𝔁 ✩

Unless I understood this wrong and Momo is only avaliable in the USA and Kosmos only from International (though that would just be a "....")? Also, I'm not from the USA, but how much is shipping for a DD in the states from VolksUSA compared to International anyway? Being from Canada, it actually makes no difference at all really, since VolksUSA inflates their price to Canada as far as I know, so the shipping is pretty well the same. Misheru Posted October 16, 2012 (edited) I have been thinking about it and I wonder if they will be limiting KOSMOS to perhaps one doll for each person. If they keep all orders in house, they can control it better. People won't be able to buy from one Volks Japan and then again from Volks USA this way. I don't know. Just trying to work it out. I will post if I get any further info. Misheru Posted October 16, 2012 Well...possibly a license issue? Response (very quick, I might add): "Regarding the licenses for our products, unfortunately we are not able to provide you any information regarding the details of license. We are truly very sorry for the inconveniences caused to our customers living in other countries, but we would be most grateful for your understanding." Maybe another company has an agreement for KOSMOS figure distribution in the USA. No clue. At least we can pre-order and KOSMOS will ship to the USA. I am going to take the positive. ~ ❥ Misheru...the *M* in H&M House of Vinyl ❥ ~ ℒℴѵℯ❤ ( ͒ ु•·̫• ू ͒) ˚₊✩‧ All your dolliehs are belong to us! ✩‧₊˚ ( ͒ ु•·̫• ू ͒)
Gunter Posted October 16, 2012 Huh, that is interesting. I just figured it was Volks being Volks and they had some sort of reason that we would never truly understand. As long as we are allowed to order her I don't care. xD I just like asking questions. Thank you for taking the time to poke them about it. ^^
Misheru Posted October 16, 2012 No problem. I am like you, just curious. I had planned to order her from Japan anyway (break my own rule...lol) because KOSMOS would be the one doll I could not be patient enough to wait on for Volks USA. But I cannot stand unanswered puzzles. I claim being part feline or something . I am just happy that we can order. They did mention in their first mail to me that if people plan on purchasing both KOSMOS and M.O.M.O. that they should get them both from Volks Japan. Perhaps they are going to be closely limiting them. Not sure. Just a tidbit to pass on. Fun to speculate while we wait. ~ ❥ Misheru...the *M* in H&M House of Vinyl ❥ ~ ℒℴѵℯ❤ ( ͒ ु•·̫• ू ͒) ˚₊✩‧ All your dolliehs are belong to us! ✩‧₊˚ ( ͒ ु•·̫• ू ͒)
DJStarstryker Posted October 16, 2012 Interesting. Thanks for asking them Misheru. They'll probably have them up on the international site if they don't have them on VolksUSA. The chances of them doing Japan only are low. And if they do... well, if they don't limit it to 1 doll per person, I may be able to help *some* people get KOS-MOS. (BTW people, don't PM me yet. We don't know what's going on.) Are you ready to rock? ^_^
Misheru Posted October 16, 2012 Thanks. They clearly told me that they will be available to international customers and that they will ship to the US, but it will have to go through the Volks Japan website. For KOSMOS anyway. M.O.M.O. will be available via Volks USA as well as Volks Japan. KOSMOS - Volks Japan only, but will sell/ship to international customers. So, still good news for everyone. With the exchange rate and Volks USA's price increases, it doesn't make that much difference anyway. I am still happy.
