I fall squarely into the "loves everything about KOS-MOS, and never really cared about MOMO before or after photo releases" group. I think I might be alone in here.

I dare say Momo is Amano Hakase's best mold so far. At least she has some life to her unlike his other molds that always rubbed me as rather dull, or at least that's my opinion. To each their own.

 

I may still end up pre-ordering KOS-MOS cause I actually think I may want to customize her. I can't help, but overly criticize her when she's in the roll of KOS-MOS because she isn't KOS-MOS. I really wish they had stuck with the 2D art, but it seems they really focused on the 3D rendering. How unfortunate. Volks should have done something like their 1/4 figure (This is the visual I was hoping for), but nonetheless I believe it is a waste to turn down such an opportunity, so I may just end up with her pre-ordered. Momo, well, if anyone decides they don't want her stockings let me know. I'd like them quite a bit, and maybe her hat too...

well i wouldve preferred the ep 1 kos and momo they looked more humanlike

Just remember that you can cancel before the 20th 15th. One would think they took into account how easy it is.

im mostly in that group i guess lol, momo's face is jsut too wonky for me, i think its her eyes, theyre a bit too close together, but she has a very cute mouth and super cute outfit. but oh lordeh, kos mos HNNNNNG.

I'm still checking my wallet... maybe I should pass on MOMO?

I have Beato (and Mariko, hoping the seller will give her to me) on order, I'll try for Aozaki and Melty (but I don't know if I win them, I'll try 1 time for them both), and if I win both I can't pay at the same time 5 DDs...

Momo is cute, but not really a must-have... I love her default gear, though, and I don't want her being the new Yuki Morikawa...

But Momo is adorable! I'm going to wait until after Christmas to make a choice on pre-ordering her though.

i wonder if and when they will be posting more photos of kosmos momo and the gun accessory...

need to see more closeups before i decide on forking out nearly $2000 on everything >< eep.

I love Mio as well XD especially when repainted! A lot of under estimated molds look very cute after re-faceups anyways ^__^ sometimes they just need a little love.

I love Mio's default faceup, and the small handful of re-faceups I've seen. But she's always been my favorite.

I think I'll order KOS-MOS on the very last day. I've got quite a while, and I think I'd rather wait for more pictures before I decide to go for her. I have an idea though if I do customize so, hmm, I'll see what'll happen.

One of the reasons doll collecting (hobby collecting in general) is so much fun is the variety. We all have our own tastes and opinions. Volks makes so many different types of DDs - different sculpts, originals, game/anime characters, blanks for customs...so much variety.

 

If we all liked the same dolls, I think we might be bored. One of the best things is seeing what each one of us will do for his/her own doll to make her unique.

 

Respecting and honoring our differences in taste is what keeps everything interesting (and safe, I might add).

 

I have been on other collection boards and people can be vicious if you don't like the exact same doll they do. It can be a hostile atmosphere and can affect the hobby itself.

 

Thankfully, we have variety within DDs and we have a great family of collectors here who can enjoy each others opinions, tastes and dolls.

Of course someone may not like some DDs but it doesn't mean that Amano is a bad sculptor.

Hmmm... I'm really torn about KOS MOS. I never expected to like her, and that's thrown a wrench in things. Maybe it sounds weird, but she reminds me of me if I were an anime character. Not that she looks exactly like me or anything, just that even though she's smiling she looks a little sad, too. All my life I've had people telling me I need to smile more, even when I had been smiling... I guess I still look a bit sad. It's kind of a pet peeve of mine at this point. But if I order her, I would be on the boat that wanted the doll but not the armor. So I'm trying to think if I could justify ordering her and risk not being able to sell the extras off later if everyone who only wanted her armor orders her too.

I think there are a lot of people who want just the outfit/wig--some people expected anime style KOS and I think they'd rather get their own head for her. Shouldn't be too difficult to find someone at all!
