Well, if you brought a dashing James Bond and had him distract the shop clerk ladies who work in the Sumika section of the store, you could probably take all the pictures you wanted even with a regular camera.

 

All the Volks stores have no-photo policies except in specific designated photospaces (that you bring your own doll to). For the most part the Dreamy DD Blog will take pictures of the most interesting displays inside the various Japanese stores for you anyway, so that is a good place to watch.

Yeah. He's not as famous here. But they know of him. Most Hollywood movies are released here, actually. I was surprised at how big the sections were in the DVD/BluRay stores for foreign (aka non-Japanese) movies were. And all of the movie theaters have a lot of foreign movies. Either dubbed in Japanese or subtitled in Japanese.

I like the wedding dress version (although not much of a fan of the dress...) but I still like her with the red eyes. Could be because really good brown eyes are hard to find and the darker red just seems to be a variation on that? Dang it, I gotta write down her body type somewhere because I keep forgetting.

 

Man, this is going to be a very long wait until Autumn. I think about Kos-Mos at least once a day, often more. Gives me plenty of time to decide if I want her to be a vampire or not... Actually, she doesn't have a choice. I finally realized why the DD looks so familiar. It's the same face as one of my vampire's vampire mother in one of my stories. She is just so pretty. I'll probably just sit and stare at her face for days. This is going to be the best box opening for me ever!

The latest photos of Kos-Mos in the short blonde wig look wonderful.

I've been wondering about something. For those doing splits for either Kos-Mos or Momo, how do you plan to go about it? Highest bid wins? First come first serve? Or does it matter more to you where the items end up?

 

Personally for me I'd much rather see the extras from my Kos-Mos go to someone who really wants it for their girls and could appreciate it. I'm the type who really likes to see the underdog win. Granted I'm not going to shortchange myself either. But the total price I'm paying to get her in the first place, in my mind, is the price of the doll, not the stuff she comes with, that's just a bonus. I don't see selling the extras as a huge opportunity to make money. That's just not what makes me happy.

 

So, what are anyone else's thoughts on the subject? I'd like to hear thoughts from potential sellers as well as buyers on the issue if anyone has input.

Please, can anyone tell me how the preorder works? From reading the site I got the impression that we preorder her first and only pay her in fall as soon as they're ready to be shipped. Is this true? Do they require us to leave a deposit on her?

 

And I do have another question: as I understand it she will be released in a new skin tone. Will Volks release this skin tone regularly afterwards? I'm asking, because I'm worrying how to get replacement or extra parts in case I needed them eventually.

Yeah, the semi-white skin is going to be a regular skin color. Volks hasn't announced when those body pieces will be released yet though.

 

If you're pre-ordering from Volks International (which you'd have to do for KOS-MOS), then, yes. That's how the process works.

It's reassuring to know that they plan on releasing this as a regular skin tone afterwards. Well, then I'll have one more week to decide whether to really preorder her or not.

But I don't think the face matches the illustration very well? Maybe a bit too mature + nose too big.

Congrats! I still really love Momo's sculpt. I can't wait to see what people do with her!

 

Speaking of, the wait for my Kos-Mos is gonna MURDER me. I find that if I end up waiting too long for my dolls to arrive I get impatient for dolly arrivals so I end up buying second-hand dolls just to fill the void, waaah.

Even I had the "holy crud what did I just do???" feeling after putting our order in too, and I had been thinking about it for a month already! It's a big commitment, but such wonderful girls!

I took a look at Momo's pictures again and then pushed the pre-order button just now.

Agreed, the hardest part is not finding more things to spend the money on in the meantime. Especially when it's "So far off".

The way I see it though, is that you aren't really losing the money you spend. I find it more of an investment.

 

Most of these dolls are going to be worth more to resell (given that you keep them in good condition).

 

So if you ever need your money back you can just auction her.
