My MOMO arrived yesterday and I got her all dressed up, but I don't have enough posts to share her with you guys yet. ;(

Kosmos' head is a 21.5cm and Momo's is 22.5cm measured at the rim.

 

 

But the head sizing difference is pretty crazy irl...

 

 

I just received my Kos-Mos today. Talk about an Ikea-type project! I'm concerned because I've looked everywhere and the black connectors that are supposed to connect her hip pauldrons to her hips are nowhere to be found.

 

I also took the lower arm pieces out of the box and they had already snapped off in-transit. :\ Is anyone else experiencing these issues? I was really psyched for KOS, but now I'm not sure.

I didn't get a shipping notice (only a payment confirmation), but KOS-MOS + 2 guns showed up at my door yesterday.

 

One of her glove hands has the same "cut" on it that I saw earlier. I think it's just a relatively sloppy seam line. There did not appear to be any damage to the parts. The two gatling guns are as large as KOS-MOS's box! I didn't have time to inspect those yet.

So others have this weird seam line on a black hand, too? I think it's weird that one hand is like that but the others aren't.

whoa those are some pretty long nails. they look thin too. how do you prevent them from breaking off?

I dunno, I just don't cut them. They only break when the seasons change. I've had them this way since elementary school, so I'm used to having them as extra tools. Without them I find it harder, not easier, to do things.

Not sure how you can see nails in that pic. The only nail I see is the thumb and it seems not too long to me.

Finally got a shipping update so out girls should be here tomorrow. I'd be disappointed but I'm just way too tired and I'm glad for the heads up so I can get a few things done. I was definitely planning on checking the girl's joints for cracks and all that when they get here. With preorder girls it just seems like a good idea.

No shipment confirmation or change in status on volksJP. Got home from work today and a pick up slip was on my door. Headed to the post office and brought her home.

 

Forgive me for the newbie question, but in my resin dolls from volks I normally used a hair drier to remove the hot glued in eyes. I'm afraid this may affect the vinyl however. How the heck do I get out these eyes without damaging both them and the doll?

I do the same thing, hair dryer. The nice part is that since vinyl is soft, you can squeeze it a bit and the glue will pop right out without needing to heat up very much.

 

With resin, I don't always get a clean break so I sometimes end up scraping off the residue.

For the glue I use both a bit of strenght and/or a small drop of color thinner

Also I think the decal sheet that comes with her is a spare? I was dreading having to apply all those decals.

Ah okay thank you. I was worried about taking the hairdrier to her so early. Didn't want to melt her. (I wish Volks would stop gluing in the eyes...)

The connectors are attached to the pauldrons in the box already and need to be pulled off(or they should be anyway). Hard to say much about the lower arm pieces without a pic except its not a part I'd expect people would have trouble with, but i could be misunderstanding which part you mean.

Yeah you really have to be careful while trying to figure out the armor. The black connectors are attached to the parts themselves.

 

I think you're talking about the bracers? The gold parts of her bracers, which are attached at the wrists broke off in shipping for me too. I just glued them back on tho.

For those who got their girls already, did you track the shipping through the Japan Post only? Raven and I have used EMS for other things and found out when we stop getting updates from the Japan Post website to check our order number with US Postal Service website.

 

Just curious if anyone else tracked their shipping differently.

I live in Canada and I usually check my tracking from Canada Post from the start... It always gives updates up to delivery. It seemed simpler than trying to figure out where to plug in tracking numbers from various countries.

Just a thought about the US shipping updates and lack there of.

I was never given a notice, she just showed up at the door. I just kinda guess cuz I get alota things EMS and it just takes a few days for me.

 

Once it leaves Japan you should be able to track it with US Post.

Was anyone else's doll like really loose? All I did was pick Momo up out of the box and her feet fell off! Like they came loose during shipping and weren't even attached... '___'; Good thing she wasn't my first DD or that would have really freaked me out lol!

I've put her in shoes and socks for the meantime, but is there any easy way to perhaps coat her foot-pegs in something with a bit of grip, to stop them from falling off again? ^^;;

Woaa!! Momo is sooo cute!! I can't wait for mine to arrive, and I'm afraid she's stuck in customs....

It appears to be an issue with some new bodies, I've heard some of the new iMAS girls are the same. One way to deal with it is to wrap some tape around the peg and then insert it. I've had to do that with a body before. Volks QC is a bit... iffy at times.
