I'm sad to hear people are having difficulties... >__<

Was anyone else's doll like really loose? All I did was pick Momo up out of the box and her feet fell off! Like they came loose during shipping and weren't even attached... '___'; Good thing she wasn't my first DD or that would have really freaked me out lol!

I've put her in shoes and socks for the meantime, but is there any easy way to perhaps coat her foot-pegs in something with a bit of grip, to stop them from falling off again? ^^;;

Wanted to add to the Momo spams~ She's so cute and smiley! >w<

My Kos Mos is a weird combination of tight and loose. Her hips and shoulders are quite tight (and so I immediately installed Coolcats parts) but her ankles and elbows are a bit loose. They're not so loose I'd return her though; they don't fall out, they just spin around more easily than they should.

I'm really worried in case I don't receive a shipping notice, my status in the volks website hasn't updated nor have I received any emails... ;;-;; Our customs tend to keep parcels up to two weeks and I need to leave in two weeks from today (from which point I'll be gone for another two weeks extra...) and no one else in my household can go pick up the slip from customs so I can send them money so they can pay in my place. If I know she's coming I can probably delay leaving so to do everything myself but otherwise... I really don't know what to do... u-u;;; I don't want our post to just ship the parcel back if I'm not there to pick it up.

Email Volks and tell them about that you will be out of town for a month. Hopefully they can either update you or delay shipping your order.

Why can't a relative go? Can't you write a letter authorising them? Call your customs office and ask them what to do in this case. Maybe they will keep the parcel longer for you. Or you may need to pay a customs broker to handle it for you.

I had issues with loose feet on a DDdyIII and loose forearms on a DDIII. It turned out that while it appeared to "fit" fine on the outside, the holes and pegs of the skeleton were not in fact properly joined. There is more hollow space than in the DDII's so they were actually in the gap between the skeleton and the vinyl shell.

I took more time and squeezed the skeleton to be sure of its location and reset the joints. Now they hold up wonderfully. They still come loose more easily than the DDII, but I consider that a more of feature (easier posing), at least unless they become completely slack.

That's what I'll most likely be doing... >< I'm going to wait it out just in case something changes until I have to go and move from there. If Volks has sent her out by the time I mail them they can give me the tracking number and I can call the post to settle it with them (even have them redirect it to the place where I'll be staying maybe), if they haven't yet then that's just dandy. It most likely won't arrive before I'm back as well.

The only relative that can pick it up for me is my mother but she works late every day (the others either live far away or work late as well) and she doesn't drive so it'll be quite hard for her to go back and forth in the evening (if we're lucky enough and it stays at the courier depot and not the post office that closes at 2pm). But yeah... as said I'll just mail volks so I can have my number if they never updated my order status and just talk it with the P.O. afterwards.

Kosmos' head is a 21.5cm and Momo's is 22.5cm measured at the rim.

But the head sizing difference is pretty crazy irl...

Man, Momo is so cute. Interesting thing I noticed is that Kos Mos' head silhouette actually resembles the very distinctive shape of their resin doll head silhouettes. The way that it's flat near the back is something you see in a lot of Volks resin sculpts because the headplate goes there. Plus, the head is smaller than a DD head-- it makes me wonder if perhaps the initial sculpt for Kos Mos was modified from a Volks resin-doll base. Most of the vinyl Volks heads I have encountered have the same roundness of Momo.

Also, having very short forehead areas is very distinctive of Volks resin dolls-- a lot of their dolls have the headcap lip right where the hairline would start. You can sort of see the two things I mentioned here in this photo of a Volks doll by an artist I admire. Here's a recent sculpt by Volks too that has a similar head silhouette to Kos Mos when it comes to the headcap area, and one more that reminded me of Kos Mos.

My Momo showed up tonight! So happy! I am one of what seems to be many that did not receive any notice... Package slip just showed up in my mail box.

Super happy with her She is adorable! She is my first full set doll, so dressing her all up took a while lol. I did manage to get her entire outfit on over a Coolcat stocking for anyone wondering (I was worried about her tights).

My Momo seems to be pretty loose as well, mostly in the feet and knees. Not to the point of falling off, but looser then my other dolls.

I'm super happy to finally have her! Pictures soon

Hmm now that you mention it, she does look very resin like in more ways than one. I don't really mind the resin proportions, except that the overall head size is way to small to find proper wigs for her. Even my unoa zero wigs (which are made for smaller 8/9 head) manages to partially envelop Kosmos' ears on both sides. Sure, I can stretch the wig less to try fit it better, but there just isn't enough contact and grip at the wig base to hold it down securely(Yes I had a silicon wigcap on her too)

I actually found a 'fix' to it though. That is to replace her flattish back cap to a more standard sized one taken from another basic head. I'll post my result when I get back from work later tonight.

One thing I do have to agree on is that Kos-Mos' head is TINY! I thought Lucas' 05 head was small, but it looks normal compared to Kos-Mos'! Going to try her head on an MDD or Obitsu 45cm body later, MDD has a boy bust and the 45cm has the MDD S bust. Raven is already insisting that I get another Kos-Mos head to do a boy. Full endorsement by the Mr., who can argue with that? Plenty of other projects come first though.

Kos' faceup is really pretty and I love how delicately her cheeks are blushed, but mine is still getting wiped because it's not what I wanted. Even so, I keep staring at her. Its definitely different finally seeing her after all this time and getting used to having a new DD of my own in the house who doesn't share a body. Last time that happened was when Dakota was finished in February! I am so very, very glad that I took the time to make Naiomi's Halloween dress, because none of the clothing styles we already have are working on Miss Lottie. Once I can make up my mind on a fabric from my stash I can sew together a temp dress for her. Yay more petticoats!

OMG I just realized that her sculpt would nearly be perfect for a DD version of Belle from Disney's Beauty & the Beast! She would need to be downgraded to an M bust, but it would be so very, very close! No, I'm not planning on doing this but it would be awesome if someone did! I could never figure out why I fell in love with her sculpt, but now I realize its because it is a 'princess' sculpt to me and the SWS only further emphasizes it. Now if I can just get Bree not refer to Lottie as 'big nose', since she insists on having her own names for everyone.

Momo is adorable! If I could give a name to the color of her hair it would be lavender cotton candy because it is a cotton candy pink with just the slightest purple tint to it. Definitely unique. She has already glommed onto Rainie & Yuriko. It never occurred to me that Sohi (Momo) and Rainie would have similar personality types until Raven mentioned it. More liveliness added to the household. Just for clarification, her name is pronounced sew-he, not sew-high like it might look like. It's going to be a bit of a running gag in our house that everyone thinks she's saying Sophie, not Sohi.

And now for the new love in my life:

10977654103_4bb666ed72_z.jpg

10977334986_e8fda67a0e_z.jpg

Lottie is using Bree's wig temporarily until I can get her own. I can't say it was a bad thing because Lottie looks simply adorable in pastels. I really need to work on my lighting but it sure helped with the overall softness of the picture.

I am also one who hadn't received any status update.

But after seeing how people get their stuff without shipping confirmation, I had shot them an email requesting a status update to know if it is shipped or still in their warehouse

Today they told me it is send out and fair enough, I got the shipping confirmation automated mail right after they send the support email.

So you need to shoot them an email because apparently they are still swarmed with orders and will tend to forget yours, as stated by the support from VOLKS

As SK has mentioned, my MOMO finally arrived, and we are renaming her Sohi, mostly to differentiate her from the multitude of MOMOs out there, but also to help with the bonding and integration into our family.

She is absolutely gorgeous! I may just love her sculpt even more than the 01. For now, I'm leaving her tights off, at least until I can wash them a bit, in order to reduce the chance of staining. I did try them on her right away, and they didn't appear to stain in the few minutes she had them on at first, so at the very least it's better than some outfits I've heard about. It took me a while to get her dressed, and I was pretty exhausted from having worked all night before and it being a couple hours past my bedtime, so her clothes still look a bit disheveled. I'll have to re-dress her after I get a full days sleep before I do any real photos. Still, I love her default outfit, the skirt and blouse, especially. In fact, those could easily be worn without all the rest and she would still look great. The only thing I don't like about the outfit is that Volks often uses "hook and eye" fasteners, but just uses a bit of string instead of proper metal eyes. The string is kind of a pain to hook, and tends to wear out rather quickly, as I discovered with Yuriko's bra.

I just love her wig. The color is nice and vibrant, and the styling is super cute. I may need to use just a bit of water wax to give her a proper ahoge, however. Volks gave her the beginnings of one, but it's just not quite stiff enough to stick up quite right. I also love her almost-but-not-quite drills.

Her eyes are the part that really blows me away. They are SO much brighter than they looked in the Volks pictures. Very unique, but a great color.

My only real complaint is that her ankles and lower legs are a bit looser than I'd like. All of her other joints are at just the right stiffness, but I'll probably have to add some nail polish to her legs, and try to figure out what to do with her ankles.

Overall, I'm extremely happy with her and look forward to getting to know her and seeing her interact with the rest of the family. I'm still debating occasionally sticking her head on an MDD body though.

My Momo arrived yesterday without any prior notice. They probably found that sending out shipping notices was slowing down how quickly they could ship them.

I picked up her box today at the post office and there were no customs charges >_> Haven't opened her up yet but her box is huge compared to my other DDs. I'm guessing it makes shipping easier since Kos mos needs a big box for her armour.

melady arrived today after the customs ransom, and have to say the hand vulcan seems rather hilariously huge up close and personal.

Did a quick check of the partsbin, and looks like some minor gluework is ahead due to the already mentioned hand armor pieces coming apart during shippage.

Also the finish on some parts was a little dissapointing, whith one of the arm armor bits having a noticable gap in it.

I suppose this is what the decal sheet is for, that if your not happy with the end result you have atleast the chance to redo it yourself if you can do better.

But couldnt resist taking a few shots with the lady herself in ... more or less appropreate wake up decor:

Another friendly reminder: I have a slot of order for Kos-mos and Momo. If you are interested in Momo, then you have to find someone for Kosmos.

On another note, is there anyone here who experience slow shipping from Japan recently?

My order is stuck at "Posting/Collection" status for quite some time. Normally they are fast
