goharago Posted October 24, 2012 well i think this will be seperate from the doll. hence the topic acessories on the page. cause if it is in the set then she will be way expensive I definitely want this gun for my Saber >< And I think it will be separate from the doll, just like the original Saber's Avalon scabbard with Excalibur
Gunter Posted October 24, 2012 That I know, I mean, Volks clearly stated they were going to be separated from the get-go. I'm saying that I fear its individual price, because it is a very big item.
shinegamix Posted October 24, 2012 ow that yea think it be in the 10-15k range making my triumphant return
Gunter Posted October 24, 2012 Though I'm wondering if they'll make it so you HAVE to order her to get her weapon. I mean, that makes sense? They've done things like that before, haven't they? Got to get the specific doll to get the other limited item/outfit as well? Unfortunately, I'm half asleep so my memory is failing me. In the end, I will take EVERYTHING. Now to wait on pictures of her! D:
shinegamix Posted October 24, 2012 maybe there are people that want the doll but not the optionparts. then they might make a deal. but yea i have heard that as well. buthavent been in the hobby long enough to see it myself making my triumphant return
goharago Posted October 24, 2012 (edited) ow that yea think it be in the 10-15k range That's a fair price considering how much Saber's swords go for but i'm sure Volks will fairly price it. And since it's a pre-order item, there is far less worry of the item sky-rocketing in both rarity and price in the secondary market. Mmm I'm thinking if it's bundled together her price might just pass the 100k mark $_$ Edited October 24, 2012 by Guest

And since it's a pre-order item, there is far less worry of the item sky-rocketing in both rarity and price in the secondary market. I wouldn't actually be surprised if it does just that. Just cause it is a pre-order doesn't mean the price won't bounce up a lot. All you need is a good demand that stays consistent as less appears on the market. It'll be easier to pick it up though if you do so from the very beginning of them shipping, rather then later. But who knows, for all I know it could just bounce up a $100 more and then be done. That's pretty far in the future to be predicting after all. xD And she'll easily pass that mark. I'm pretty darn sure they have done that a few times around. goharago Posted October 24, 2012 This is kind of irrelevant but for some scaled figures, people have been buying them in multiples in hopes of re-selling just because of past trends. Motor Saber (awesome figure) is a good example because so many people ordered her and haven't been able to resell at a profit so her price has been dropping since release. I'm predicting Ultimate Madoka will be in the same boat soon. What i'm saying is even non dollfie collectors might hop on and pre-order either the whole bundle or the weapon just for re-selling purposes. So because of this the extra supply, there may be enough of them to keep it near its original MSRP or even lower. Edit: I know some people in that type of business were skepticle of ordering the Saber bundle last year worrying that the aftermarket price might not hold up just b/c it was a made-to-order release...but look at the prices now? Both Extra and Alter can easily fetch for 1-1.2k+ on Ebay.
Kumi Posted October 24, 2012 Heh, my predictions so far are good. The Gatling is just the same version Volks already made in their 1/4 figure. There's high probability that Kosuke Kitahara will sculpt the DD version as well

Bellatrix Posted October 24, 2012 I don't really like weapons, so I don't think I'll order them. For this, I'm safe! If it's Kosuke Kitahara sculpting her, then I'm done. I love his work on figures and dolls! ✩ 𝓥𝓲𝓬𝓽𝓲𝓶 𝓸𝓯 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓑𝓮𝓵𝓵𝓪𝓭𝓸𝔁 ✩
Gunter Posted October 24, 2012 (edited) @goharago This is true, though I'm one of the few who still managed to pull a big profit off the selling of their Motor Saber. The "Free Shipping" tag is such a trick, especially when your buyer is in the same state. :P You always have peeps who buy to sell, that is a given, but how many non-collectors will be up to spending upwards of 100k~120k JPY (I always overestimate. No surprises) on a somewhat popularity? She ain't a Saber, no previous history to know what you could be making later. It can be a touchy area. I am in the mindset that everything Volks touches goes only one way: up. @Kumi Yessssssssss. Volks, you can do this. WE HAVE FAITH IN YOU. DJStarstryker Posted October 24, 2012 @Gunter: KOS-MOS is still a very popular character though. The original Xenosaga came out in 2002. Here it is 10 years later, and they still release figures of her. That rarely happens for characters, unless you're Asuka or Rei from Evangelion. So who knows how popular this DD might be? I think it largely depends on how good the doll looks though. Part of the reason the Saber DDs are so popular are not just because the character is. It's because the Sabers are some of the best looking DDs out there. Period. That's why they can keep making different Sabers and people still buy it. Poor molds can really hurt a DD's popularity. The most popular character from The Idolm@ster is Haruka. Yet the Miki DD is so much more popular. Why? Because the doll version of her looks so good. The Haruka doll looks, frankly, terrible. And this is me speaking as a fan of that series. If KOS-MOS is a Saber-quality doll, she'll do extremely well. If she's a Haruka, people will quickly forget about her. Are you ready to rock? ^_^
Kumi Posted October 24, 2012 DD Haruka has big open smile. I think, that in the "doll's world" this contribute to the "creepy factor" much more than in real world And generally it was a very bad idea.
Gunter Posted October 24, 2012 (edited) @DJStarstryker Believe me, I know KOS-MOS is popular, but I was just pointing out that Saber still outranks her. xD Just sayin' that that does help one a lot, but of course looks will play a huge part. Unfortunately, without images of her everything is up in the air. My entire point is: There isn't a previous mold to back up people wanting to go out of their way to purchase something with a currently undetermined secondhand value. It makes a lot of sense to go out of your way to purchase one for sale when you can see how well it did before, and there are always folks who suffer from bad timing. I just think that a lot of people will back out when it is a first time release, plus naturally high price. *Shrugs* Just to clear up: I wasn't doubting her prices to go up, I was doubting that she'd have the vast numbers like Sabers + non-collector buyers who bought with the intention of selling. I actually think her price will really just go up. I worried that maybe that got lost that I was actually aiming for the idea that her value would go up and thus she wouldn't stay a reasonableish price. For all we know she could become a crazy wildcard like the White Album girls. From my understanding they weren't the most popular pre-order and yet look at their prices now? O.o @Kumi No lie, I actually think Haruka is creepy as can be and her big smile is just that reason. She is like a bad SQ-Lab mold, not something I expected from Volks. Kumi Posted October 24, 2012 Since the White Album preorder time the whole DD market changed a lot. You could buy Rina and Yuki for some sane prices for a long time after their release. And then at some point DDs gained high popularity and the prices went up for most models, and for some even skyrocketed. We were laughing many times, that Danny Choo and his website were behind this
Gunter Posted October 24, 2012 Is that what happened? I just remember someone mentioning their prices were like okay one day and then suddenly... I've been around for a while, but I didn't start buying till a bit after them, so that is one of those areas I kinda know about but I've never gotten clarified. Though, I can say Danny Choo actually didn't come into my radar till way later. I just couldn't say no to buying after Yoko's release. XD
Bellatrix Posted October 24, 2012 It's all Danny's and Chun's fault if Yuki is so popular XD ✩ 𝓥𝓲𝓬𝓽𝓲𝓶 𝓸𝓯 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓑𝓮𝓵𝓵𝓪𝓭𝓸𝔁 ✩

We were laughing many times, that Danny Choo and his website were behind this Well, it kinda is. I've been into DDs since 2009, since Rin came out in the US. How did I even find out about Rin? Danny Choo. He had posted about her. It was love at first sight, and knowing nothing about Fate/Stay Night or dolls or DDs, I had to have her. He posted early enough that I could get into the lottery for the US release and I won her. There's been plenty of people who have gotten into DDs after me that I'm sure have partly thanks to Danny Choo. I still read Danny's blog but it's less interesting now. Before, he was just more of a fan of Japanese culture. Now that he has his own business and is heavily promoting everything Mirai branded, he has too few good articles about Japan and Japanese pop culture, and too many advertising his company or his sponsors (mainly Goodsmile and Bushiroad). Are you ready to rock? ^_^
