October DD Gathering

Thought I'd start a thread about this since we're just slightly more than a month out from this event. So far, Volks has confirmed that these things are going to be at the gathering...

 

Edit: D'oh, pictures not working. Please see the first post on the second page. The items are the new standard MDD, the new standard DDS, the new standard DDDy, and a new stand.

 

There's also the Xenosaga III DD(s) that may be also getting released at the DD Gathering, but we don't know for sure yet.

I'm glad all these new standards are getting released. It's great to see more 04 and 01 head girls out there as I like both those heads a lot.

 

And I will want to try for one of those stands! I only have 4 stands for all my girls so I'm seriously lacking in that department. This one looks really neat and I'd like to give it a try.

 

Oh, I can't see any of the pics you have in the above post, they are all little red "X"s.

I need some stands here as well. My collection is finally growing!

I'm also oggling those stands. I think I may get one of the new Volks stands, and later get one of the Obitsu ones so I can compare.

 

It is pretty neat to see the other heads finally getting some standard love, but I'm more excited about the *two* new blank heads. I love it when new option heads come out! I think it's totally cool to see how many things people can do with the same blank slate.

I'll have to look once I'm on my computer at home. Pics aren't showing up for some reason.

 

I have 2 of the Obitsu stands though and they've worked really well for me so far.

The blog service Volks use for their DD blog doesn't support direct linking of photos, hence why they don't show up.

 

About the Obitsu stands, I've heard of them breaking so I'm a bit wary of plastic stands even if it's by Volks.

I'm one of those unlucky people. I bought the Obitsu stand before Momoko arrived. Actually had to buy some screws since mine was missing 3 (which was no big deal). I put everything together and tightened everything as tightly as it needed to be without damaging the screws. I used the stand once to hold her while in my apartment for 5 mins tops. After that I was moving it and the bottom screw that holds the arm to the base came off :/ And because the plastic pieces are so tight once you put them together I couldn't take it apart to reattach it to the base thus making my stand useless XD I can't see myself buying another plastic stand after that

Awww that stinks. I've had no issues with mine.

Yeah it seems like I was just unlucky per usual ^^;; It'll be interesting to see more shots of Volks take on multi-stand though :3

Ok, so total noob question in relation to this event . I really like the 06 standard girl. I know that eventually she and the others will be available for purchase on the site with the two current models.

 

However, when do they go up on the store? What is DD Gathering and how does it work? I'm also interested in the limited 05 head, is she part of this event as well? (total noob, sorry!)

You can go to any Volks store in Japan on October 20th and you are able to buy both new limited items and new regular items (such as the new standard dolls) for the first time. It's sort of like a mini-Dolpa, but at the Volks stores instead of at a big convention center.

 

The standard dolls will be available for regular order after that, as long as they're in stock.

Thanks for the explanation Going to Japan isn't an option for me though lol (I wish!) I guess I'll have to wait until they hit the web. Does it take much longer for them to hit the US web store?

I'm in Osaka & Tokyo between 29th Nov to 12 Dec, so I'm hoping to be able to get my hands on the new Miko.

May look at DDS Mayu, but it doesn't grab me in anyway, for as I look at her face I see my Tomomi who is a DDH 04 head.
