laces Posted September 30, 2012 I haven't been able to display my girl I am lacking the funds to buy a stand and to be honest do not have a space to put her other than my bedside table, where she is currently sitting down leaning against the wall with her legs along the table, wrapped in a single sheet of bubble wrap to stop dust settling on her. I feel like an awful DD parent having her like this but I don't know how else to keep her from harm. How do you stop dust settling on your DD? How do you prevent sun damage? (At the moment I keep my bedroom blinds fully closed to prevent any direct sunlight getting on Mirai) Many thanks if you can help! ^_^
Jezrah Posted September 30, 2012 My girls sit on a scale couch in my sewing room. There are curtains to keep the light off of them. But as for dust, I don't keep it off of them. I just make sure to clean them periodically so that it doesn't affect them. I try not to worry too much about little things, or I wouldn't get full enjoyment out of them. Even if they stain a bit, I know I can fix it
Guest Posted September 30, 2012 Candie *sleeps* in her carrying case when I'm not actively doing anything with her. That keeps her clean and free from dust.
baldylox Posted September 30, 2012 All my girls are out on top of my dressers in my bedroom. They are either using doll stands or sitting on furniture. I keep my blinds and curtains closed at all times as well. But dust never has time to collect on them due to me changing their clothing and doing photos with them all the time. Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.
archangeli Posted September 30, 2012 All my girls are out on top of my dressers in my bedroom. They are either using doll stands or sitting on furniture. I keep my blinds and curtains closed at all times as well. But dust never has time to collect on them due to me changing their clothing and doing photos with them all the time. Billy I've pretty much got the same idea going on as Billy. My girls are either supported by doll stands, or sitting on a couch or a huge plastic display riser. The curtains in my room are closed 95% percent of the time - and dust never has a chance to settle I also vacuum several times a week since I have cats and the carpet gets gross otherwise >__<" That also helps with keeping dust at bay. I have one doll display case that could fit a DD, but it's actually one of my resin MSD girls that's in there for the time being. I think I could take her out now though, there's no real reason for her to be in there anymore Archangeli.net | Twitter: @MsArchangeli | YouTube: Archangeli
Saba Posted October 1, 2012 I just keep my girls out of direct sunlight and I don't worry about dust on them- like Billy and archangeli I am always re-posing/dressing them, so dust doesn't stand a chance. If my girl is sitting on the dresser, I put some white cloth under her so she isn't putting her weight on any dark specs- I've had a tiny black spec stain her collarbone from resting there for a few hours . If they're being stored, they lie in my dresser drawer on white cushioned fabric^^

Ravendruid Posted October 2, 2012 Like others, here, Yuriko sits out all the time, usually on my bedside table. Since we live in the basement, sunlight isn't an issue, and since I play with her pretty much every day, dust really isn't a problem. So far, I've seen no ill effects. Taidai Posted October 2, 2012 I have a tiered shelf on my computer desk (which is really deep so dust rarely gets in there) where Mikoto sits/stands/does whatever the hell she feels like doing. Always watching... staring... judging.... Or just keeping it awesome Be sure to check out my misadventures in the Dollfie Dream world: I have NO idea what I'm doing and my Flickr
Orchid Posted October 3, 2012 My Millhie usually stands up in my Detolf cabinet from Ikea (using two floors) so dust is not a big problem. She has no stand for now (I have to but one) but she holds standing easily and if she falls she stays in the cabinet. Here you have a photo of her sitting on the floor ^^ DSC00416 por _OrchidCat, en Flickr
DarkAvenger696 Posted October 12, 2012 Like most people I sit mine on a dresser or the couch etc I tend to move them to wherever I am in my apartment XD as for dust I don't really need to worry since I dont have lots of girls yet haha so my two go pretty much everywhere with me so I haven't really given dust a chance to settle, I'd say if your real worried you can always just give your girl a brush off every now and again hope this helps ease some of your worries
