MrFjmg03 Posted October 1, 2012 I saw some cool heat resistant wigs on cool cat. I just want to ask if you know if you can use a curling iron and hair iron in a heat resistant wigs? Or you can only use the hair dryer? The reason I'm asking is because I want to update Panchita wig so I can change her hair style often and if I can use a curling iron in those kind of wigs I might do it Unfortunately finding a brownish red color heat resistant wig like the one my girl have now is almost impossible. So I think I will buy her a brown wig instead http://us.sk-coolcat.com/front/bin/ptdetail.phtml?Part=02CSD-
juu-yuki Posted October 1, 2012 If it says heat resistant is should be okay to use a curling iron on it. My wigs from leekeworld and Volks (depends on which ones) are just fine, even on my iron's hottest setting. Not too sure about coolcat's, test on a strand before doing anything crazy. http://juu-yuki.com Dolly Shop: http://www.lizanna.com
archangeli Posted October 1, 2012 You can safely use a straightening iron, curling iron and other heated hair styling implements on heat-resistant fibre wigs. That's what they are designed for. If your tool has a temperature selection I'd suggest choosing the lowest setting, since that is usually enough to style a wig. DarkAvenger696 Posted October 3, 2012 Hey, I actually have one of the heat resistant wigs for Yoko, I was playing around with putting curls into the clip ons and a normal curling iron (with the heat setting cool cat recommends) works just fine with no problems... my problem is I can't get the curls to look right >___
Nekopon Posted October 3, 2012 Curling hair can be a toughie. It takes a lot of practice. I still have trouble curling my own hair sometimes. It's probably easier if you have a curling iron but I use a straightener which can take a lot of patience. If it's not heat-resistant, the fiber will get ruined pretty quickly so be careful. >___< I lost a wig that way cause I was still new to hair styling at the time... Can't wait to see your hairstyles. ;D
