Last movie you watched

The last movie I watched was Pontypool on TV. Since I love horror movies, I watch them all the time really, but this one actually creeped me out! That rarely happens to me now.

I'm looking forward to Wreck It Ralph and The Man With the Iron Fists next weekend. Those two should be fun.

Skyfall. I enjoyed it a lot

Skyfall isn't out here until next week... my boyfriend looked it up last night and was like, "Already out in Europe, WTF?!"

To which I said, "They probably mean the UK... where I would expect a Bond movie to come out first" LOL.

Skyfall premiered here on the 26th, so I guess its a europe thing... not that it means much to me, since I'll have to wait for it to come out on disc before seeing it myself... oh well, just got some bond-mood by watching Casino royale, and Quantum of solace back to back last weekend.

A bunch of my friends are going to the opening day of Skyfall on the 9th, I'll have to see what they say about it. I'm sure it'll be freaking amazing!

I decided to see the Silent Hill: Revelation movie today. It was a nice Halloween treat, I wish more people would go see it, however even if it isn't a classic. At this rate, I don't think we'll ever see another sequel.

...I can't believe I just saw a positive on Silent Hill: Revelation. I won't go into that rant though. I won't, I promised no ranting!

So, I see pretty much everything, or around that, but I won't bother talking about films when they are already out, instead I'll comment whenever I see something before release. Oh, also, I'm not a fan of today's movie industry. Do not be surprised if I seem overly harsh whenever I make a review.

Today's feature was "Wreck-It Ralph"

I admit, I was not excited for this movie. I had a sneaking feeling that the awesome video game cameos would only last so long, and I was in fact right as they ended after about the first 15 mins. Unfortunate, seeing I was looking forward to it. I hoped they'd manage to really mix them in. Now, as a whole? The film was okay, not great, not horrible, just okay. That's a pretty good rating for something with Sarah Silverman ( Honestly, I can't stand that woman ). Idea was cute, but I found myself getting kinda bored about 30 mins in and suffered from some slow times. Animation was good at least, and characters were okay. I liked the moral and the climax got my attention back. I'm really into the whole "sympathize for the bad guy" kinda idea, and I liked how they took this.

My favorite part: Sonic gives a safety tip (only real cameo of him other then in a crowd, and credits).

I admit though, there is a short animation called "Paperman" (If I remember the title right) that was positively adorable, and unlike Wreck-It Ralph...that actually left an impression on me. It was short and very sweet. The animation was really nice, and the silent factor of it allowed the animation to bring out the charm all on its own. I won't go into details cause I feel it is better seen than told. ^^

I'm watching stuff on DVD lately.. today saw Treasure Planet

Kinda funny how much of the movie screams 90s (yes its release date is 2002, but the development process of the 90s still shows), and kinda sad how badly it fails... Dammit Disney, stop with the wrecking good original with your set formula. It doesn't always need to happen

hmm... personally didnt mind the dizzy 90's approach, though my only irk with this was that it felt like a half-rushed-rehash to counter Fox'es Titan AE from 2000, which hardly would win a beauty contest between the two, but still seemed to feel a bit more substatial.

I guess its the big "why" that keeps hanging over the movie. The steampunk minus steam-boilers look was really neat! Especially Silver's "pegleg" and all!

but then... why Treasure Island in space? Why not just do a classic high-seas adventure? Or if they wanna shove off to space so badly (ain't nothin wrong with that), why not wrap the story around it better? The aliens designs were all over the map w/out much tying them together, but then main kid is human anyway?

I'm a fan of the video games so naturally I wanted to see the film. No, it wasn't perfect but I certainly don't believe it deserves such a low score on some of these review sites.

I'm not trying to provoke you or anyone else, but I think most people judge video game adaptations much too harshly.

I'm not trying to provoke you either, I'm just amazed by the comment is all. Just as a note, I almost WALKED out of this film. Even for me that is a very rare occurrence (I didn't cause I felt the need to torture myself apparently.)

And honestly speaking, even when removed from the adaption context it is horrible. Also, why wouldn't you judge something harshly? I feel no need to lower my standards just cause the film industry as a whole has done that. If they have something perfectly fit there to adapt then why not properly adapt it? I truly hope it doesn't get a sequel, because they'd have to go to Homecoming next to properly make another film and that would mean going into the "eh" Silent Hill games. I'm not looking forward to what they do there if they are incapable of making one of the good ones actually into a decent film. I'm a fan of the series, I don't need to see this butchery of it, and I would honestly prefer if it didn't exist.

Luckily: I see movies for free so at least I know I didn't fund box office sales. I was thrilled when I heard it totally bombed!

I've watched many movies based on games and they are never really perfect. I think Revelations could've followed the story line better and had more developed characters though. It wasn't all I was expecting but I knew ahead of time it wouldn't be winning any Oscars. With all these bad reviews you'd think it was a SyFy original movie! Anyways, if there is a sequel it'll probably be based off Downpour.

Eh, I didn't think it was going to be great either. I had zero expectations, but it proved to me that that was apparently even too high for it. The movie itself was a waste of time and effort, and clearly money. It is one of those films that when I see it I suddenly have a wish they had just donated every cent they used on it to something more useful, like cancer research or something.

I did click that, but I always figured Homecoming would be where you would properly go next. Especially cause though it was small, Douglas is MENTIONED within that game, but seeing as they didn't even bother following that part of the game right no one would know it unless they played the games. The issue with this is of course that no, they hinted toward Downpour, which is great. Go toward the Silent Hill game that wasn't scary at all...and didn't even bother trying to be. You'll have to go back to playing shock value with guys hanging around in bondage-ish ways, and pop tarts.

But honestly speaking. I'm a fan of the game. I'm going to butcher this movie apart and rip it a new one and that is how it is going to be. This movie is utter trash, and given the opportunity I'd happily take us all in the fun step by step adventure of what is wrong with this film not only from a fan of Silent Hill 3, but a fan of good films prospective as well. If you haven't figured it out, this brings out every bit of nerdrage in me.

Iron Monkey, a Donnie Yen starred kung-fu film from the 90s. Sort of a Chinese Robin Hood if you will, and actually a funny movie if you have a weird sense of humor. And not that crap Tarentino version they put out with edits and cuts in it.

A Fantastic Fear of Everything is... have no idea what I just watched, but Simon Pegg can make anything and I'm guaranteed to watch it. Also laundromats will never look the same ever again (not like they did look 'same' before... those things are hell and everyone knows it!)

Recently I watched Cloud Atlas in theaters and thought it was fantastic experience! But can definitely see why many people don't like it. Since then I've watched Westworld and Frida at home while working and really enjoyed them as well! Next I'd like to go see Wreck-It Raph, just need to convince people to go with me.

After Westworld, a good recommend is the Itchy and Scratchy world episode of the Simpsons!

It just makes a great followup, you know?
