Sailor Mars

As the title states, I have decided to move ahead with an idea I had. I want to get my fiance something special this year for Christmas and I think a custom DD Mars would be the perfect gift. I'm have no skills in costume making, but I figure if I at least give her the doll, she can make the outfit. Heck she made one for herself years ago for Cosplay. XD What head would be the best option to go with?

 

I'm going to make Sailor jupiter and I'm going to use a Neris.

I've also noticed Kotori has a good mold for a Sailor Scout as well.

As far a standard head (so you don't have to spend a ton only to wipe the face) prob 04 or 06

I think head 03 or head 06. But I like head 03 most because is more mature looking and if I remember correctly sailor Mars was the one who behave more mature of all of them.

I'll have to agree with the HDD-03 part of this, as Mars is generally the more serious/mature acting of the bunch.

DDH-03 is too melancholic to be Sailor Mars. Rei was bright and energetic.

I'd wait for 05 or 07. Probably 07 should be the best for her character.

I agree with 07 she has the right eyes for Rei , but didn't suggest coz who knows if you can get her ready in time for a christmas present

Right now it's limited. You can only get it through buying the Dollfie Dream Fanbook 2 and then entering for her after. VolksUSA is actually offering the chance to get it.

 

It'll be a standard head eventually, we just don't know when yet.

For the suit, someone here on the forum is realizing Madoka dresses, and he/she is pretty talented. I don't remember the nickname, but the posts aren't that old so you can easily find them. Try asking him/her to make the Sailor uniform, eventually :3

I'm not worried about the outfit. My girlfriend used to cosplay as her with a costume she made herself. It was really well done. I'm sure if I had one made, she'd criticize it to no end and make one for herself in time anyway. So I plan on just getting a generic school uniform and let her make the Mars outfit. I'm thinking for the body, going with an M bust with a standard body. A DDS would be too small I think.

Most everything is coming together for her. I even found a decent handmade Miko outfit on ebay. The only thing left to do is to get the head. I'm still thinking of going with a 02. I'm hoping I can get the order for it placed before Christmas. Kinda rude to give a doll with no head. XD
