SisterKyoya Posted October 21, 2012 First off, nothing is wrong. I didn't want anyone to think anything bad has happened to him, so no worries. Tama-chan has had quite an exhausting month or so, but he's finally feeling like himself again and almost everyone is happy. Just to prove it here he is hugging his new surprise shirt from Katnaper and his buddies in the Boy's Club: Other pics of the shirt and his other Halloween pics will be up later, but that's not what this is about. My poor little guy, by his own choice, has put himself through the ringer in a dedicated search for a proper boy figure. After many long debates and endless bouts of measuring I finally ordered him the Obitsu 45cm boy body. Knowing it was close to his MDD body I really wanted to know if body parts could be swapped between them. When it arrived I moved his head onto the new body. It was really cool to see him finally look like a real boy instead of a sanded S bust. A few weeks went on and I knew Tama was very happy, not needing to worry about someone thinking he was a girl if he had his shirt off. Even so he would complain about growing pains (there is about a 1" height difference between the bodies), that his shirts had shrunk, his pajama bottoms were too short as well. He was especially heartbroken that his fleece elf shoes no longer fit because his toes would get smashed when they stretched the shoes. As I was working on some Obitsu/MDD height comparison photos today, Rainie was not happy that Tama-chan was taller than she is, and the pics almost make them look more like they are dating rather than being siblings. After the required pictures were taken, Tama quietly said "Mommy, can I be little again? This body just feels funny and I don't like it." Since we had been with the "growth spurt" Tama long enough, partally dismantling the Obitsu body wasn't as frightening of a prospect as it originally seemed. I had intended to do this when it first came, bit I looked at the two bust pieces and the Obitsu looked like it would leave an ugly gap, so I didn't attempt it then. With nothing left to lose and knowing that Tama might end up with the girl MDD S bust, I swapped the needed piece onto the MDD body. Tamayuki: "Hey Mommy, do I look like Kaylus does in his photos? He doesn't wear a shirt either!" I can say that much to both of our delight, the bust piece works great. The piece in the middle (going straight across) is from the MDDII internal frame. Even with that showing it doesn't look horrible to me, and there is no gap between the bust and torso pieces. I plan on eventually seeing how the boy chest piece looks on the MDDIII once I can get a hold of one. Here are the front and back nude pics: It took no modding whatsoever to make the chest piece work on the MDD body. At first the shoulders seemed a tiny bit wide but after I put his arms back in, the little extra pushed in the space between his shoulder blades, but even so it really isn't noticeable. Tama-chan is so happy to have an almost purely Volks MDD boy body and I'm happy to have my Tama looking like his adorable pipsqueak self again. Rainie however still wants use of the MDD body back. ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram
DJStarstryker Posted October 21, 2012 I think it looks pretty good. That body seems to fit Tamayuki well. It's closer to the body he's always had, but at the same time, he looks more like the boy he is. Are you ready to rock? ^_^

Bellatrix Posted October 21, 2012 I think he is really cute. Modding is nice, too. I'd choose another wig, more masculine, but it's just my taste! ✩ 𝓥𝓲𝓬𝓽𝓲𝓶 𝓸𝓯 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓑𝓮𝓵𝓵𝓪𝓭𝓸𝔁 ✩
SisterKyoya Posted October 21, 2012 I think it looks pretty good. That body seems to fit Tamayuki well. It's closer to the body he's always had, but at the same time, he looks more like the boy he is. I really did try to like the Obitsu body, but it just wasn't him. I think it is really cool that with a shirt on he looks exactly like he used to but I don't have to worry about his tops being tight. I have yet to put his normal green pants on and see how they look (since the waist is really bulky) but I am very happy that the Obitsu bust eliminates the skinny girl waist even though he still has the MDD torso. He even has his chubby feet and hands back, the fingers on the Obitsu hands are very long and skinny and didn't look right at all on a boy. You scared me with this title !He looks good Yeah that was scary... glad Tamayuki is okay. His new body looks pretty good . nice to see him back to his old self I wasn't trying to scare people but I was trying to catch the attention of anyone who cared. I'm just happy to have him looking like himself again instead of trying to alter my perception of him to fit the Obitsu body. I know of someone who was rather outspoken about keeping the MDD body who wasn't Dolly. Dolly was strangely quiet over Tama's Obitsu body and spent more time away from Tama than at any other point since he came. After I was done with the day's photos Tama started hugging Dolly and hasn't quit. I think he is really cute. Modding is nice, too. I'd choose another wig, more masculine, but it's just my taste! Being masculine has never been Tama-chan's strong point. Dolly is loads more masculine than Tama. Raven started laughing when he tried to think about little Tama making an attempt to be masculine and just not getting it at all. One thing I do like about his hair is it makes him look like he has perpetual bedhead. Somewhere in the future I might do another MDD boy but he might end up with an Obitsu or SQ labs head, but he would most definitely have more masculine hair. I think Tama has forever been somewhat tainted by girly genetics because he had the sanded S bust for so long. No matter how "old" he would get, I think the proverbial apron strings will always remain intact. ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram

Bellatrix Posted October 22, 2012 Ooooh I see :3 but, just for my curiosity, have you modded anything down there, too? ✩ 𝓥𝓲𝓬𝓽𝓲𝓶 𝓸𝓯 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓑𝓮𝓵𝓵𝓪𝓭𝓸𝔁 ✩
SisterKyoya Posted October 22, 2012 He looks amazing! So cute! Thank you! I'm so happy with how he looks now, just like I originally wanted him to. A small bonus of the Obitsu chest is the neck is more flexible and makes his head easier to pose ant tilt to the side, making him even more expressive. Ooooh I see :3 but, just for my curiosity, have you modded anything down there, too? No extra modding was done except to switch the chest piece. The sensor bar is there because it does look a little girly, but if it really bothered me a lot I could probably sand it. Tamayuki is just not the kind to be going around naked (that's Dolly's forte) and I don't ever expect to see him in speedos. If for some reason I needed him to look more male that way, I could stuff some cotton in his underwear. ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram
Innocentsake Posted October 22, 2012 Tamayuki is looking great with his new Obitsu male bust on his MDD body! Did you happen to take any pictures of him while he was on the Obitsu body? I'm kind of curious how different he looked on it
SisterKyoya Posted October 22, 2012 I have a few but not many. After the fact I realized that it was somewhat to do with me not being happy with him being bigger (even though it was only an inch). The metal plate for the magnet feet is hidden under the fabric. The chest and torso pieces actually do look really nice, but the 1 inch in height pretty much comes from the lower torso. Even his pants came out looking a little too short as well. Because of how the shoulder joints stick out, his Volks shirt looks like it shrunk. The spot on his pants that sticks out (left side of pic) is where the bottom of the shirt would be if it was on the MDD body, so with him trying to wear his former clothes the new height was very noticeable. Here is the approximate height difference. (Tama has an MDD head and Rainie has a DD head) As for the hip joint between the Obitsu and the MDD, they are almost the same exact height. I would have taken more comprehensive pics like I normally do but I've had a fever all weekend and should have stayed in bed instead of doing the photos I did. Here is the last one with Tama in the Obitsu body. after trying to pose him for this shot I had had enough of the Obitsu joints. The elbows are so tight that it causes me trouble trying to get them to pose, the wrist joints are nice and steady, but the bit that holds the hand on is the exact wrong orientation to the shape of the hand. Think of the internal hand piece to the DD and turn it 90 degrees. This makes the wrist often look broken and is a total pain in the rear to get it to look natural. If someone is considering an Obitsu MDD hybrid, I would really recommend seeing if the MDDIII arm pegs would fit in the Obitsu shoulder joint. The MDDII arm peg has 1/8" to 1/4" gap in size that would make modding mandatory to work, but the DDS arm peg could easily be sanded down to fit the Obitsu joint (the arms are longer though.) On the plus side though if the MDD arm pegs are modded to fit properly in the joint, it doesn't look like there is the huge round joint sticking out at the shoulder making it look more natural. As for the knee and ankle joints, I really have no problem with them (although the MDD knees are cuter) and I still think the magnet feet are awesome, it just wasn't enough to compensate for everything else. And for a last point of information, the MDD S bust will not fit on the Obitsu internal frame. A DDS M bust does but the shoulders look weird (a gap between the upper part of the bust shoulder and the top of the Obitsu arm) and Rainie is complaining loudly that she wants the MDD body back. When Rainie isn't happy, she lets everyone know. ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram
