Keats Posted October 22, 2012 Hey guys, I just got my first Saber recently, and I'm still quite new to dollfies. Don't have too many items and accessories yet. So this is what happened last night: For the past couple of days, I'd dress Saber up in the morning every day. I'm really afraid of staining, and have no bodystockings yet, so for the clothes that I think might stain her, I use Glad plastic wrap around her bodyparts. Anyway, at night, I undress her (again, staining), and lay her out flat on a folded up blanket with her head sticking out. I have a small studio and the table is close to my bed. Yesterday, I didn't come around to dressing her, so she laid there all day. When I went to bed, after showering etc etc, I was about to get into bed, I turn around one last time, and there she was, looking straight at me. She was still lying straight on the blanket, but her head was turned towards me. There were multiple lightsources in the room, but there were no reflections in her eyes. So I looked in her eyes, completely shocked. I put her head back straight, and just couldn't figure out how it was possible that her head was turned (~about 30 degrees), even though I was absolutely certain that I'd left it straight. So I was completely creeped out, and put her back in her box, because I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep like this. I was even tempted to put the box on the balcony for the night, but I was afraid she'd get cold. As I was lying in bed, I started going over the past ~36 hours. I'm sure I put her on the blanket straight, because I always do, and I always leave stuff straight and neat. There's no practical function for leaving her head at an angle (I'm male). I didn't leave my desk or my house at all yesterday, nobody could have gotten in. She's still new, so I don't think the head could have turned on its own. I was running out of options and really scaring myself, and then something flew past my window, blocking the streetlight for a second. Damn! Next I thought, she's gonna come crawl on me and tear up my face. So anyway I disabled my emotions and fell asleep. Slept like a baby I still have no idea what happened though. I'm now not sure if I want to continue with this 'hobby'. Might sell everything. I have plenty of anime figures, but nothing ever happened with those.. Any other creepy stories? Kumi Posted October 22, 2012 Nice story But I personally never, ever heard of a DD who has ill intentions. They're in general a friendly bunch, even if some do not look that way. And some of us, I bet, would be VERY glad if one of their DDs start to move and talk
Crystaltiger Posted October 22, 2012 XD Nice. If my Saber Nero came to life I'd be happy. But she'd probably be pissed that I leave her at home all the time because of school and work. The head probably did move by itself. When I lay my Saber straight on her back her head is being supported by the bun of her hair. Its not the best support so maybe it just moved? But in one of your previous posts didn't you say something about wishing that your doll would be animated and come to life. You got your wish.

Hahaha indeed I kind of got my wish, but I'm an angsty guy so things moving on their own are kinda scary!

katnaper Posted October 22, 2012 XD Nice. If my Saber Nero came to life I'd be happy. LOL. I probably would be too, but having so many demanding girls in the house aside from my hyper kid might be a little too much We have our own BLOG. Please visit us at the House of Nyan by clicking this link or our sig above. See you there. Heidi Posted October 22, 2012 Hee hee! That's a funny story. My girls are all too cute to me to look creepy...although they have bothered people who aren't into collecting them. Handmade Clothing for Dollfie Dreams

DJStarstryker Posted October 23, 2012 so is this forreal or a halloween thing It's probably for real. I've seen quite a few people even on Den of Angels say they put their dolls away at night because it creeps them out to have the dolls "staring at them" while they sleep. It doesn't really bother me at all. But that's because I kinda see DDs as like big, more customizable figures in a way. And I've been into figures and have had them sitting around since I was young. Doesn't bother me to have a doll or a figure in the same room as me when I'm sleeping. I don't see it as any different from pictures or posters. It's an inanimate object, no matter how many feelings we may have for it. Are you ready to rock? ^_^
Kumi Posted October 23, 2012 Good thing You don't have a resin bjd. They can move a lot, like fold their arms or even kick You back Especially when they're tightly strung and at some point the tension is bigger than friction. It's nothing supernatural, just physics. But it can scare a lot of people

But it can scare a lot of people I imagine so. I was talking more about the eyes thing though. People think doll eyes (regardless of resin or vinyl like DDs or any other kind) just have this kind of staring quality. Probably why Jonathan Coulton wrote this song. RedLion Posted October 23, 2012 Never had a creepy moment with Kihona unless it was as a joke. When I moved into my apartment in California, I was pretty nervous sleeping alone in a brand new place. The only one that was able to watch over me was Kihona, I slept more soundly with her around. Nendo Girls attack~! by Knifapalooza, on Flickr

XD I can't have my resin and Hujoo girls looking at me when I'm sleeping. Their eyes kinda creep me out a bit. It's much easier with Mina since she's not as realistic as the other. Or well, at least not eye-wise. And I do know quite a few people who aren't to keen on my dolls. It's mostly because of the eyes. Keats Posted October 23, 2012 so is this forreal or a halloween thing Yes, it was for real. I've been sleeping with figures in my room for years, no problem. Figures just don't move, although I've had a couple with pieces falling off for no reason. This was different, it was just the whole atmosphere. I took her out of the box the next morning, and left her on her blanket, and she hasn't moved since. I haven't touched her again.

baldylox Posted October 23, 2012 So far I haven't had any of my girls move on their own or wind up in positions I didn't leave them in. I *have* had them fall before because I wasn't using a stand on them tho. But that was all balance and gravity moving them, not themselves. My bedroom is where my girls stay so I sleep there with all of them standing guard over me. I've never felt creeped out with them in there at all. In fact, I like having them in there with me, makes me feel more relaxed. But I think it would be super fun if one or all of them came alive. If they had the same personalities I gave them in my stories, it would be such fun to just sit back and watch them! Altho, this would also mean my food bill would skyrocket and I'd never have cookies again due to certain little cookie monsters here. LOL I've seen other dolls out there that I would definitely NOT like in the same room while I sleep. But since I'd never own those types of dolls, I have nothing to worry about. Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.
tubatime1010 Posted October 23, 2012 I personally cannot sleep with my dolls staring at me at night. I know I'm silly for even thinking that the dolls are scary...because I know they're not...and in my waking hours I love having them out. There's just something about their unending, blank stare that really gets to me at night... It's like they're saying "Hello from the uncanny valley...JOIN US" I think it might also depend on eye color. Take a look at Miu in my avatar, for instance. Her eyes have a very emotionless...maybe even forlorn quality to them....and to me that is a little creepy.

juu-yuki Posted October 24, 2012 I am one of those people who are scared of dolls, but for some reason my DD girls doesn't scared me. I can have them staring at me while I sleep with no problems. Now, SDs are a whole different story. The reason my girls doesn't scare me might have something to do with their personalities: Sakura: Sweetest and the most well behaved little girl I have. She is so harmless Airi: Well... she can be a little spoiled and have an attitude sometimes but she doesn't have that souless killer aura. Lily: Bad ass mature girl holding a big sword right now. She is like my body guard at night LOLL I think the longer you are with a doll, the less scary and more life-like they become to you. However, I did get a scare because of Airi. It was dark and the only light coming into the room was from a small crack from my half closed door. It was mainly her silhouette that surprised me. It was almost like she was alive and walking over to me since I couldn't make out her joints. I can have them staring at me while I sleep with no problems. Now, SDs are a whole different story. Is it the eyes thing? SDs look slightly creepy to me, but DDs don't. I wonder if that's because people tend to put glass eyes in resins? I'm putting acryllic circular, more realistic looking eyes in a doll (waiting for them to arrive) instead of the usual DD animetics, because I couldn't find animetic eyes in the precise green shade and size (Twin Snow makes the right color, but the eyes are too big - I need 20mm) I wanted them to be. I hope it doesn't make my DD seem creepy to me all of a sudden! Are you ready to rock? ^_^
