Actually. they picture you see there is a closed eye head with painted on eyes. There's a tutorial in the book to show you how they did it! Maybe that's why it seems smaller.

Yeah, the Volks News 50 Magical Ruby actually comes with those red eyes. That's why (yen rate-wise) she was 1000 yen more than the pre-painted head rate.

 

Volks News 50 just shows how to paint it yourself if you want to buy your own blank closed eye head DDH-06 and try making one that looks like it.

Was so excited for this book. Got paid today and went to order and it was sold out. I really wanted the book itself more than for the lottery but oh well. such is life. haha.

No, not the 07. That was for the DD Fanbook 2.

 

Volks News 50 has the ticket for a pre-painted 05 and a new pre-painted 06 that comes with special red eyes, that they're calling the "Magical Ruby" pre-paint version of 06.

DD Blog has some new pictures for the limited DDH-05 and DDH-06 editions

Was so excited for this book. Got paid today and went to order and it was sold out.

Yeah I was surprised how fast it sold out. I figured there would be a few copies at the store when I went on Saturday, but they were cleaned out. Jane said that after they were put up on the website all Volks News 50 copies were gone in a few days and she said they had gotten a good amount of them too.

 

Ah well, I might've been tempted to enter for the 05 head so it was probably best I didn't get a copy ^^;;

Yeah I kept checking it for like 3 days and I was like oh its still here, it won't sell out. I go a few more days later and its gone. lol But someone saw my comment and offered me the book for the same price. Super happy. Cause like I said, I wanted the book more than the heads so happy day. lol

Gah, that 05 picture is making her hard to resist. Gotta wait and see what the new character dolls are like though.

I want to see the 05 with better eyes in it. Every time Volks shows off this 05 head, IMO they keep putting weird eyes in it. Kinda makes it hard to tell if it's an interesting head or not.

Look instead for Sirius/Yumi/Kyoko heads and customs. There's probably lot of this.

I'd offer to look for one for you in the Japanese stores, but I don't think I saw them last time I was there. Volks News 51 is out this week in Japan, so the 50's getting a bit old (it came out in Japan beginning of September).
