Also... I had no idea there were so many Obitsu... I love Ai-Chan!!!

Thanks! Ai-chan is one of the newest head molds and a pre-painted, open eyed version is available. It is probably the closest to a DD head they make (Parabox).

 

My Obitu pics are better organized than my DDs, so maybe I can get those together and better contribute on that end soon, too.

thanks! yea the stock photo for that head has an almost demonic smile faceup - but it does have nice narrowed eyes and a smile so it works will for characters with confidence and sass I think ;D

so just a noob qustion here im seeing some people have sqlab heads on DD/MDD bodies, is that easy to put on? or do you need to know how to mod in order to hybrid them?

The only difference is, the head is hard resin.

So it has very little more "play" on the neck bolt than vinyl head, because in other case it won't go on.

(otoh, some DD heads crack in this area from the stress).

I suggest fixing it on the neck bolt using something. Maybe drilled plastic bottle cap, or even eye putty.

I've never had a problem of head flopping with my Hibiki.

 

... that being said, the peg was a very tight to fit on so I had to sand it a bit!

 

 

Her head is prone to rotate left/right though; but generally it stays in place.

The idea to use putty is a good one. I might try it!

I can only attest to my Kirie on the DDS, but she's very secure on there with no bolts or putty or anything... and, unfortunately, she's taken quite a tumble probably b/c of her head being that much heavier than a normal vinyl head. So I'd mak sure even if your girl can stand without support for a few hours, gravity and general house settling might give just enough oomph to send her a tumble... o___o

I did notice though when I put her head on there the first time I had to gently force it *all* the way onto the neck piece. you can kinda tell if you don't have it on there 100% if too much of the curve from the top of the neck piece is showing. Granted with the SQ lab head on there it's going to show a little bit I think, but it was enough to notice it had one more 'rung' or 'spindle' or whatever for it to go down before it was secure : )

 

but mine might have not needed extra sanding to put it on there.. we'll see when I get my Haruka head : )
