Syaorandc Posted December 20, 2012 This is my first doll event in Japan. Purchased the plane ticket in October, and have been excited for months until it finally happens. Asked one of my doll friends who is studying in Tokyo to buy me the catalog so I can enter the limited item drawing prior to the actual opening at 10AM. I know how hard it is to be able to win the lottery these days, you pretty much have to have a number inside the 400s just to have a chance to buy anything. So I really wasn't planning to buy any big ticket items at DP28, just thought it would be nice if I get to grab some kinky outfits and flashy eyes for my little friends at home. Then maybe pick up a new daughter in mint condition from one of the doll stores. Took a little while for my friend and I to finally meet, so by the time I get to the drawing box, it was around 8:30AM already (The drawing event starts around 7:30 and close at 9:00). When I see the number 270 I was overjoyed. I firmly believe my decision to bring Tosaka for this trip played a hand for me to be this lucky that day, and I am sure Aoko and Rin will get along just fine. But then I realized that I barely have enough money to bring Aoko and Melty both home, because I wasn't planned on winning, I only brought 13.5W Yen with me for the entire trip, thought it should be more than enough, and I was dumb enough to leave the credit card at home. So I ended up with only two more meals for the next 2 days (my friend treated me to one of those two meals too), and didn't do anything in Tokyo since I can't even afford the train ride. By the time I reached the door at home, I only had 260 Yen with me, and nothing else in my wallet. I wasn't able to do any more sight seeing in Tokyo for the remaining two days of my trip after DP28, and I wasn't able to buy anything more after I put Aoko and Melty in my luggage. This trip was still a rousing success, of course^^ On the Saturday morning before I leave for Tokyo, I grab additional 160 USD and put it in my wallet, I dunno why, but my instinct told me I should put that money in the wallet so I did. And that money ended to be the difference for me to be able to bring them both home. It was meant to be, otherwise how do you explain that!? You are lucky. I've done Dolpa 4 times now and never won once. This was the closest I've got (Number 464). Still I didn't come away empty handed. My wife was so pissed at Volks not having enough Melty on hand that she went and bought her on YJA for me ^o^v After TWO HOURS of putting on her ridiculously hard outfit I got her into the pose I wanted and put her in her own dust free doll display ^^ (I loathe dust so ALL my daughters are kept in dust free displays which are very inexpensive.) Her arm and leg stockings are a serious pain to put on. Oh and her dress likes to slowly creep down and reveal her breasts

Gunter Posted December 21, 2012 Did anyone else's charges from VolksUSA drop by chance? I feel it is too early for us to be getting results, so I am just trying to determine if I lost Aoko or if my bank let go of the charge because it was on hold for too long (which has never happened, but is a possibility). If I lost then DEALERS COME GIVE ME THE AOKO GOODNESS!
Nekopon Posted December 21, 2012 The charges is an authorization and is meant to be dropped within a few days. It's the way their merchant works, it seems. If you win, they will let you know when they will actually charge you when they send you the email. At least... this is usually how it goes!
Gunter Posted December 21, 2012 I figured as much, but I've actually never had a charge drop TILL I lost (or never did because I won XD). So, I was confused as to what was going on.
Nekopon Posted December 21, 2012 Each bank responds to their merchant differently, some holds it longer than others. Some does not hold the authorization at all. Some learns it's just a temp and realizes that... it all just depends, it seems.
Gunter Posted December 21, 2012 Guess my bank just decided to change things up. I've had them for years without a change. Either way, ty for the answer. I just wanted to make sure they weren't being weird and giving out results already. Volks can be straaaange sometimes.
shinegamix Posted December 21, 2012 what about yourlottery confirmation page if you lost it will say cancelled no? making my triumphant return
Gunter Posted December 21, 2012 what about your lottery confirmation page if you lost it will say cancelled no? That's technically true too, I assume. I've actually never had to check because I knew I lost because the charge was dropped. I was just simply thrown off by how early it was dropped this time, and admittedly it simply skipped my mind to bother checking that.

Gunter Posted December 28, 2012 Won Aoko through WLD. That's a first for me. I've always seemed to have luck with KL. Neat.

misskale Posted December 28, 2012 Just wondering, for the people who won through WLD, how quick were they in replying? I replied to them, but didn't get the original confirmation message until closer to 3 hours after it was sent out. I hate not knowing on this sort of thing... gaiaswill Posted December 28, 2012 When I replied, it was 10 min to receive confirmation, but it was only 7 pm Wisconsin time then.
Gunter Posted December 28, 2012 I'm in the same position as you. Waiting on confirmation that they got my confirmation so I can pay deposit. It is cause they are now out of business hours. I assume we'll be waiting till tomorrow to hear from them.
Cauldroness Posted December 28, 2012 Debra (WLD) is in the middle of doing her end-of-the-year inventory, and she told me that I wouldn't be receiving my invoice until 1/1/2013.
