I agree Aoko looks much cuter then she did in the official photos she is actually quite diffrent from 07 head after all. I can't say the same for KOS-MOS though, she is just not my type. I really can't go along with her nose and her sad expression. I guess I don't like mature looking dolls XD

Now when we have much more photos from different angles, she really is.

I think it's the mouth. And she looks a bit younger perhaps.

But 07 is not bad either, as we can see in the DDH-07 thread

I admittedly enough never thought she looked like 07 really. ^^; To me all she is is better than I already thought she was.

As someone who was at the Dolpa, Melty and Aoko look even better in person. Those pics don't do 'em justice. But Volks did have some terrible yellow bulbed lighting on them, IMO. So it was practically impossible for anyone to get really good pics.

aah when will they learn to use neutral lighting?

Hmmm, those close ups of MOMO make her mouth look odd. It seems like the paint that makes it look like she's smiling rather than having a neutral line doesn't quite line up with the corners of her mouth. I wonder if they'll change that at all before release? Oh well, I personally didn't plan on getting her anyway.

those new pictures of KOS-MOS in the link make me not want her. I think the eyes really throw it off, cause I really like her in one of Volks' picture where she had the blue eyes.

Anyone in Dolpa who got Melty? Been waiting for someone to finally open her Melty xD but sad to say that i've been seeing people in YJA who just sells Melty away T^T

I left the Limited Items Waiting Area once they announced that all the DD items were sold out, so I'm not sure what order Creamy Mami and the little SDs sold out in. Lottery numbers 1-3000+ were issued; this time the last DD thing (Aoko) ran out as only #401-500 were shopping (and #501-600 were getting into sorted order). This is way earlier than reports I've heard from previous Dolpas, so they must not have had very much. I was expecting to bring home two dolls when I drew #671, but nope, I got nuthin' here and have to wait for the After Event.

When archangeli and I went to Dolpa 27 in May the best number we had was #611 and all the DD stuff had sold out while #401-500 were shopping and I was lining up. So this seems to fall in line with our experience.

 

People who had a "gold pass" got to skip the line and go before even #1 could go. There were maybe 6 people with such a pass. I must find out what this is.

The gold tickets are special items that people can win. At the end of Dolpa 27 during bingo a few people won gold tickets for the next hometown dolpa, so I imagine at the last hometown dolpa some people won tickets for the Tokyo one.

 

Anyway, for me the dealer section was a huge disappointment because I didn't get to buy a single thing there either.

We found a lot of fun goodies in the dealer section. You have to look around but there are lots of booths that had all sorts of great things for decent prices. We got some dresses and some accessories, there was a lot of pretty DD jewellery, and there were lots of nice eyes and wigs! KuroKami has a booth with tons of nice eyes, and Miruya has a nice booth with a nice selection of wigs. ^_^

 

The Dolls Party had various events going on throughout the day, from a "winter" beauty contest for dolls, to charity auctions, to SD one-off auctions, and a Y500 lottery wheel to name a few. The only event that interested me enough to really participate personally was the Dolpa Bingo Game (with prizes, of course). We finished doing the shopping stuff a lot earlier than expected, so the game wouldn't occur until 5 hours later and we didn't have the motivation left to wait for it. We left Dolpa a little before lunchtime.

That lotto wheel was fun! We got all sorts of neat little bits and bobs~ Dolpa Bingo was also a lot of fun, the prizes they award are fantastic! I can't believe you were done shopping before lunchtime, there was SO much there! It took us forever to get through the dealer room and I still feel like we missed stuff.

 

 

I find it a shame that you didn't enjoy dolpa as much as you thought you would. I really loved it and hope to do it again in the future with archangeli!

The Volks USA lottery is still open, but I believe it is not open to Japan.

 

The After Party on the Volks International site hasn't happened yet, but I believe anyone can enter that one.

Put in my order for the school uniform set. So stoked for this
