Yay, Bikini and Wedding sets!

 

Too many wonderful choices of clothing to pick from. I'll never narrow down my choices to a more reasonable selection.

 

Why oh why Volks did you have to do all those bikini sets at once, all those cute dresses, and doing re-releases of the bra and panty sets??? You are so cruel Volks!!!!

 

 

And darn scripple's enabling power of adding that Violet Striped Dress set to my list. =3

I hope I'm lucky with KL this time. I don't want to go through the click war for two pairs of shoes. I'm just not that good.

As much as I adore these outfits.. My eye is on the prize! If I want to add Melty to my family I can't buy any more clothes right now! >_<

I actually have lab for my Japanese class (5 hours left to get) that day that I can't miss since the semester is almost over so I won't be attending this event. The only thing I missed out the first time was the Yellow Bikini w/ Hoodie Set, but I decided I'll be passing on it. Good luck to everyone who tries for something this event!

I can tell you from experience, that yellow bikini set is AWESOME. I'm super into denim shorts ofr my girls and these are so well made! They're also lined inside so your girls won't get stained. I had my set on Miyuki for 2 weeks and she never had any problems. And the yellow bikini is really nice too. It's got cute details on it and it fits really nicely.

 

So if you're not sure on how nice it is, don't be.... it rocks!

I decided to go for the yellow bikini set, mostly for the shorts once I saw that they were lined. If I'm super lucky and end up getting it, maybe I'll find a more appreciative home for the swimsuit part

I really like the bikini set for the dynamite and the undies set and everything but i can't afford to get anything seeing as I am still saving for Miko when she is released at volks usa...so sad day for me

awesome I was on the fence about getting a kimono too... but i'm not a fan of the color choices this go around.. they're all so somber and the plum one has that lining that is on most of the other kimonos they make and bleccch I just hate it. the black kimono (dont have) and the vivid pink mdd kimono (do have), have a much much better lining in terms of the colors matching well. not sure why they don't try to do a younger woman's furisode - clearly they had the cute fabric for those maid outfits for the last dolpa.

 

esp with winter coming they could have done a really nice fancy furisode and even had the little cute fur collar add on.

 

but I ramble.... lol so yes yes yes getting that bikini set (hopefully) and maaaaaybe some shoes... those red stripey ones would look cute with that set.

Are you talking about the "sappanwood red" one? It looks much, much better in person than on those Volks pictures. I have both of the girl kimonos that VolksUSA will be selling as part of this, and they look great, IMO.

The umemurasaki one is the black kimono; it just has a purple underslip to it. You don't have to wear the obi in front as the picture shows - it can be worn in the same look as the suou one's photo, and vice versa. In fact, the umemurasaki, the suou, and the usuzakura from a few months back have all their parts interchangeable so you could make different color combos if you wanted.

 

I'm wondering if I should get the SD Boy kimono/haori combo to add to the collection this time out. Anybody get this one the last time these kimono were offered? If I remember, the SDB are a little taller than SDG, so I wonder how this outfit's length compares to the three girls' kimono we've had recently.

Just got a reply from KL that I won the SD SAPPANWOOD KIMONO (Yay!) but she's charging $20 for shipping.

 

Honestly, it can be shipped within USA for $10 or less including mailer.... can't help but think there's something seriously wrong with this picture. If there is a commission rate, should have said so earlier?

I think it might be because the kimono is quite large and much heavier than normal Volks outfits. KL never charges commission for Volks items.

I'm not sure what to think of this...

I just shipped my TV last week for $17. How can a doll's kimono cost more than that...?

Well, you can always email and ask. Shipping also depends on your destination and shipping method. From what I noticed, KL always uses PO provided packing supplies to ship Volks outfits, and shipping are charged higher for those than the Flat Rates or the normal envelope/ boxes.

Probably should ask since we're both making assumptions here.

Oh! She replied saying it was a typo! The shipping is actually only $10. Yay!
