Innocentsake Posted November 4, 2012 So yesterday I got to attend the BJD meet they were having in San Diego. Couldn't find anyone to come with me so my husband agreed to go with me I had a really good time, though it was a bit lonely since there was nobody there that I really knew. Everyone sat with their own group of friends and the only people that sat at the table with me & my husband were people who couldn't find a seat anywhere else or arrived late It was really well organized and a ton of people attended. There was a costume contest (theme was The Wicked Wild West) which I put Saber in, but she sadly won no awards. Haha which I expected because her outfit was just barely western ^^;;; It was $10 admission, but they provided lots of drinks & snacks along with a lunch of vegetarian chili & hot dogs (delicious!). Not to mention we got goodie bags with poker chips, cards, and dice that were just the right size for my girls. And of course there were many many vendors so everyone was busy shopping. I only brought a set amount of cash with me so once that was gone I had to be content with what I had. Which was too bad because there was a table that brought out some Volks loafers after I had gone by their table and when I came back I saw them there for $20 and weeped a bit wishing I had known XD;;; I couldn't help but roll my eyes & laugh inside my head when I was trying on a shirt on Momoko that I ended up buying for her. Of course one of the vendor ladies had to say "My that's a busty girl!" and the vendor I was purchasing from asked if she was a Dollfie Dream and I said yes and she said, "Yeah when I hear busty I think of Dollfie Dreams. That's what Volks is known for." I mean she wasn't saying it in a bad way, but it still sounded silly~ Poor Momoko is just trying to shop for clothes hehe. I'll never understand what's so scary about DD busts ^^;; But Saber & Momoko did get positive remarks as well and at the end of the event there was a woman who was saying she used to have a 03 Dollfie Dream and wished she hadn't sold her. So I was trying to persuade her to buy another They had a raffle that I had no luck in. Those numbers needed to be mixed in a bigger bowl since they were only pulling out the biggest numbers which of course were the ones the vendors had been given since they got their raffle tickets last XD;;; And the auction for props from the photo sets was pretty fun to watch since there were some people really going at it for some of the items (picture in the bar, the bed, & the wagon mainly). All in all I had a really good time and hope to attend again. scripple Posted November 4, 2012 Looks like a pretty big gathering. That bar set is pretty cool and it's neat that they gave out DD sized gambling supplies to everyone. Like dolls in general don't have ways to get you to lose money, now they're encouraging them to become gambling addicts. Congrats on the loot, looks good. Check out my new DollFun website. I like the loot you got, very nice shirt and stockings. But when and where did you get that wig Saber is wearing in the last photos? That wig looks awesome on her! Oh yes the little photo areas were really nicely done and I wish I couldn't gotten more pictures of Saber & Momoko in them, but there were many people there using them. I have a feeling the two of them would try to get good at card games just to hustle me out of more of my paycheck. And yeah there are resin girls who also have large busts though I've noticed that it isn't many of them, a lot of them have smaller busts from what I've seen thus far. And unfortunately Saber & Momoko were the only DDs in attendance this time around. But I kind of figured that would be the case when I knew that none of the people I knew were going ^^;; But yes yes there were people who thought they were very pretty and liked them so that made me happy! Loots is always good Hehe the wig Saber is wearing is the one she wore to the meet (Leekeworld), but when I got home I put Momoko's twintail extensions in her hair and just mixed the hair from that wig into the twintails to get that awesome braid going My husband says it's weird, but I say it's awesome and I now have you to back me up! brucedabold Posted November 9, 2013 Thank you for a fantastic write-up of your visit to our 4th San Diego BJD Con. I hope you can attend this year's con on November 16, 2013 from 11 to 4. Once again it will be at the Marina Village, but in the Starboard room. Still $10 at the door and this year's theme is Naughty Nauticals! There will be a costume contests for best Undersea, Pirate, and Beach. Sorry you didn't win last year.
