R - "Why are you ignoring her so much? Why will you not acknowledge her? It is tearing her up inside."

"Do you have any idea what you mean to this family? You are THE main girl here, we all know this. So for you to just ignore one of your sisters is pretty cruel of you. Poor Reiko only wants to be friends with you and spend some time with you and you have been avoiding her since she arrived."

"Well, I guess I kinda HAVE been staying clear of her but it's only because I have no idea how to deal with her Rei. She's a clone of YOU. What am I supposed to think of her? It's like having two of you around judging me and watching my every move. But I didn't think she was taking it personally."

R - "Of course she is taking it personally you dolt! She is still a girl and she has feelings! For her Onee-san to ignore her causes her great pain. How you did not see this is beyond me. You normally play your games but always make sure the other girls are happy and well cared for."

 

M - "It's like I said Rei, I had no idea how to deal with her so I kind of just steered clear of her. I guess that was the wrong approach. I'm sorry that happened because I'd never want to hurt her. You know that right?"

 

R - "*I* know that but she does not. You need to talk to her because she has strong ties to you."

M - "Strong ties? What's that mean?"

 

R - *SIGH* "I suppose I should have told you this earlier but there is no hiding it now. When you hear this, do NOT play stupid because I know you know what I mean when I say this."

 

M - "Alright now you're scaring me Rei."

R - "Remember when I was in the process of making Reiko? You entered the lab area and somehow got your DNA mixed in with mine."

 

M - "I do recall going in the computer room and seeing a bunch of stuff in there...."

 

R - "Exactly. I knew you had been in there due to how Reiko came out of her pod. She had larger breasts, your eyes and also your love of beer."

 

M - "So that means that my DNA is now a part of Reiko? And so is yours?"

R - "Yes , in a way. She has traits of both of us. But since you only got a tiny bit of your DNA in the mix and at a late stage of the development, Reiko is about 70% like me and 30% like you."

 

M - "Where... where is she now? We need to go talk."

 

R - "I agree but we do NOT need to tell her this just yet. I am not sure how she will take talking to you and then learning that all at once. We should go slow."

 

M - "Alright... I agree. Let's go find her tho."

Well I guess the final frame takes care of any nature vs nurture issues in this case.

Awesome little story. It's nice to see Manami not hiding from Reiko anymore, and that it didn't take Rei any real trouble to fix the problem. The "PARENTS?" part is hilarious, although being a clone, there's not nearly all the awkwardness of actually being the parents.

This made me laugh pretty hard. Manami must really be feeling the whole "parent" thing, what with resisting the chance at a breast massage and all.

Well I guess the final frame takes care of any nature vs nurture issues in this case.

 

I think more cloning projects are needed to strengthen statistical power of the study. I hope what Rei was working on is an even better cloning protocol.

I very much agree with this. Also, in order to to be sure it's not just some characteristic of this particular doll's dna (or whatever it is that carries their genes), the experiment needs to be carried out on a wide variety of girls, including multiple body types (especially MDD, as I'm sure they have a number of very unique factors).

Thank you! I needed to clear things up with these two in order for other things to proceed so this was the best way I could think of. And yeah, the clone bit is helpful for the most part.... but I'm sure Manami won't keep too quiet about her role as "Momma" so I have no clue how that will play out.

Oh really? So Rei needs more funding for cloning projects when she's already expressed that she doesn't want to continue them? If outside investors want to contribute then by ALL MEANS please send your donations of cash to Rei's paypal addy ReiRulez@bellsouth.com Then MAYBE we can move forward with more tests and cloning procedures.

HA! I dunno about maternal instincts but Manami does feel bad about how she treated Reiko and knowing she had something to do with her "birth" has sparked up SOMETHING in her. I just hope she doesn't go all super protective or something on poor Reiko. And I'm glad you like their banter at the end, typical for my silly bunch.

Well, yes and no. Manami hasn't seen the MDD girls yet. Yoko has met them ( story to come ) and I know a few of the others have met them as well. But since this whole "parent" bit, Manami has been glued to Reiko. So I'm not sure how soon she will get to meet the little ones but I know when she does, something big will no doubt happen.

Ever noticed, that some pictures "talk to You" much more than others?

Sometimes the only difference is a slight change of camera position.

I think, that some pictures are just much more filled with emotions.

Probably some of our emotions, conveyed through our girls. The girls are part of us.

I actually couldn't agree more. I know that Tamayuki is highly expressive, sometime just how his head is tilted or where his wig line sits can make him look kinda sad to very surprised. Sure some could say they are just a mirror of our own emotions, but you could also say that sentiments have no real value because it's not a tangible (aka solid) commodity. I've been surprised at how much personality and visual emotions that DD express, just as much as our two very opinionated and animated cats.

I just meant that they can't convey emotions in real life like you or I can. I know for a fact that photos of DD's CAN indeed convey emotions quite easily. All the things you listed above are quite true. But it's mainly the person looking at the photo who "sees" these emotions. I know I put a lot of thought into my pics and how my girls are posed and knowing that the feelings I'm trying to portray are seen by readers and viewers makes all the work worth it. But I find this bit especially true to me:
