jadepixel Posted November 5, 2012 This weeked I customized Asuka’s makeup a bit – re-did the lips, thinned and darkened the eyebrows, and add a bit more blush here and there. It was helpful to find out that I could mod the eyebrows without removing them, saving me some time and aggravation in getting them symmetrical. jadepixel doll lab jadepixel eye shop

scripple Posted November 5, 2012 This is the best use of Volks Asuka I've seen. She makes a great elf. Great work on the face and the choice of eyes and wig. Check out my new DollFun website. Share your own doll photos with free image hosting.
jadepixel Posted November 5, 2012 Thanks! I really like her as an elf, her face is naturally a bit puckish. Next I want to come up with a name and story for her new character :3 jadepixel doll lab jadepixel eye shop

Kumi Posted November 5, 2012 (edited) She's awesome Parabox ears, I presume? May I ask for "seam" details? Edited April 24, 2016 by Guest
jadepixel Posted November 6, 2012 She's awesome Parabox ears, I presume? May I ask for "seam" details? Yup, they are a bit paler than DD normal and there's a noticable seam hidden by hair. I could cut them down and blush them to match better, but I think a bit of trickery is always going to be need to hide the edge. I may work on making some custom ears later jadepixel doll lab jadepixel eye shop
Amara77 Posted November 6, 2012 Elf Asuka!! How cute she does look very eleven, I never really noticed til now. She's simply adorable! The simple touch ups to her face up look great! How did you attach the ears? I also have them and I'm waiting for my head. I wish I had SOME sculpting ability LOL. Luckily the character they are for has her hair covering that pesky little spot! http://amara77.wordpress.com blog and shop Spoke too soon....
jadepixel Posted November 7, 2012 Thanks! The ears stay on with a bit of silicone earplugs, same stuff I use for the eyes. Eye putty would work too jadepixel doll lab jadepixel eye shop
SisterKyoya Posted November 7, 2012 I may work on making some custom ears later Any suggestion as to materials for custom ears? My first thought would be baked Fimo, but I'm afraid it might damage the head somehow from chemical differences. Is there something better to use? ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram
Kumi Posted November 7, 2012 Epoxy putty, once cured shouldn't have any chemical problems. Like Apoxie Sculpt, Tamiya Epoxy or other similar products. Also The ears are made from a polymer clay called Sculpey III in "Beige" mixed with a little "Dusty Rose" and "White." viewtopic.php?f=31&t=4999

littlebearries Posted November 7, 2012 wow... she is just adorable... you're face up modifications are perfect. Your girls are always so cute. Where can I buy the elf ears at? I went to junkyspot... but I swear I'm blind, I don't know what section to find the ears under (and I'm sure you'll say it, and then I'll just be like, DOH! *forehead smack* )
jadepixel Posted November 7, 2012 Thanks guys! I picked up some La Doll paper clay to try making ears, whenever I have time. It's air dry and carvable, so I'm hoping I can sand/smooth off fingerprints and such. The ears on junkyspot are under obitsu > 60cm heads http://junkyspot.com/60femalehead.html They ship UPS so it's a bit pricey, better pick up a couple more things to justify the cost jadepixel doll lab jadepixel eye shop
SisterKyoya Posted November 7, 2012 Or you can get the ears off of Parabox's website (almost at the bottom of the page) but I'm not sure if there is a cost difference. ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram
