Galvatim Posted February 28 MPG-09 Super Ginrai. Base cab Ginrai is the same size as the vintage. Pretty much a Missing Link Ginrai. I have the new Takara IDW Rodimus on the way, so I won't say for certain that MPG-09 is TF of the year. I got the Yolopark Last Knight Optimus recently, and ended up with this display. Yolopark Rise of the Beasts display. I'll definitely be adding Mirage, not sure about Bumblebee and Primal. Yolopark G1 and SXS Hot Flame. And my TF comics trade paperback collection, for that matter.

Galvatim Posted March 8 I got AMT-01 Rodimus recently. This is a full converting toy, based on Flame Toys' non-transforming action figure, which itself is based on the IDW Comics design for Rodimus, specifically the More Than Meets the Eye series. Packed in alt mode. Alt mode is decent, not as accurate as the third party offerings, but good enough. Robot mode is where it's at! Roddy is slathered in paint. This figure feels premium, with diecast parts, great metallic and glossy paint, and even some orange chrome hidden in the shoulders. The only thing missing is an alternate smirking head... SXS Hot Flame is still more accurate to MTMTE, although lacks the polish and build quality of Takara's. MMC might want to follow up their Reformatted Megatron 2.0 with a new Rodimus, he's looking dated next to AMT-01. MMC Optus Pexus (Optimus Prime) looks good with AMT-01. Rodimus ties with Jazz for my favorite Transformers character (closely followed by Galvatron), so I had high hopes for AMT-01, and Takara-Tomy didn't disappoint. I'd go as far as to say AMT-01 ties with MPG-09 Super Ginrai for TF of the year. Maybe some third party release will surprise me, but I haven't seen any announcements from Hasbro/Takara that look like competition here.
