Cool cat Questions

So in an effort to prepare for my girl and at some observed satisfaction with their things, I have decided to order eyes, reinforcements, a body suit and brushes from cool cat. (am gonna try my own hand at clothes) I am getting a body from mitsuki (am really am greatful haha) and until my layway is completed i wanted to get my girls starter stuff here.

 

So how is cool cat with shipping speeds and cost?

Is the quality of there stuff good?

Has anyone bought a wig from them, am into styling my bjd wigs and a heat resistant one is ideal, so are they really good also some good recommendations are appreciated.

has anyone ever bought the brushes are they of good quality, or should i just buy them from volks? i cant find quality grade brushed here in the bahamas and too lazy to try arder haha.

i am not a silicone head cap lover since i rip mines apart every time, but i saw the cotton caps cost a little more, do they hold the hair just as well, i am assuming they go one easier and i KNOW they wont tear!

I have decided to mod a DDII large bust or DDIII bust ( does the model type matter) to give my girl some natural and lower boobs. I love the the curviness and thickness of the DDdy body but those breasts..............^.^ I know am asking alot, please dont find it too annoying but i would like to get the very best for my girl. thanks for understanding.

So how is cool cat with shipping speeds and cost?

- airmail (no tracking) is very cheap - $3-$8 an takes around 2 weeks to Canada. EMS is around $25, is tracking and insured and will arrive in about 5-7 days. CoolCat will write whatever customs value you like on the form, just leave a note in the "comment" box when you check out.

 

Is the quality of there stuff good?

Yes. Don't let the inexpensive prices fool you. Their stuff is really nice.

I only have one wig from CoolCat. I admit that I bought it because it was a nice colour and was inexpensive! LOL Compared to other wigs I have from Leeke, Luts and Volks the fibre is a bit "dry" and not as nice and shiny when I handle it, but the style is nice and the colour is true to the website photos. If you're curious it's this wig -

I found that it does seem to shed loose hairs more than some of my other wigs.

Can I also suggest you get this wig brush from CoolCat?

It's only $2.50 but it's my favourite thing ever!! It's really great for detangling wigs and since it's not plastic it doesn't generate static.

- I don't do faceups, but juu-yuki has ordered some coolcat paint brushes and quite liked them.

But if you hate them, that's ok. Coolcat always includes a free gift with every order, and 99% of the time it's a silicone wig cap, so even if you don't order one you may end up getting one

Their cloth ones fit DD heads very nicely, are a good thickness so that dark coloured wig-caps don't stain. It's actually a better fit than the Volks wig cap, which I find slides around on the head. They do cost a little bit more, but they are worth the money (and are still cheaper than Volks! ^__~")

- their eyes are nice. they are nice and durable, the colours are sharp and the quality is good. The 22mm size should look nicely in the 06 head so it's just a matter of choosing a style you like!

I'll answer the questions which I have personal experience with.

 

So how is cool cat with shipping speeds and cost: I did a Cool Cat order recently. I used the airmail option. It cost just $6 and it arrived to the UK where I live within 9 days. Cool cat orders are always handled promptly and are well packed.

 

Is the quality of there stuff good: I have never been disappointed with anything I've ordered from cool cat. I've had clothes, shoes, wig caps, magic sponges, stringing elastic and more. Not once have I been disappointed.

 

has anyone ever bought the brushes are they of good quality: I brought the cool cat metal toothed wig comb and it is very nice. It's solid, well made, looks good and works well. I haven't had a brush from them as I use a tooth brush and a small handbag hairbrush I had from before my doll days. But I should think their brushes are well worth the money too, they definitely look good.

 

I am not a silicone head cap lover since I rip mines apart every time, but i saw the cotton caps cost a little more, do they hold the hair just as well: I don't know how you've managed to rip them, maybe you've had poor quality silicone caps before. The cool cat silicone caps are really good. I'll be honest I've played with them alot and I've never ripped one. My cat chewed one once, it got a couple little holes but is still usable. The cloth caps are also very good, but are more for preventing staining, not so much for holding a wig in place. I usually use both a silicone and a cloth cap on all my girls.

 

I love using cool cat, I would recommend them to anyone without doubt and I always go back to their page again and again. I would buy ANYTHING from cool cat because it is all of such a good standard.

Ah-ha. Since I made an order with Cool Cat yesterday, it's reassuring to hear you've had such good experiences with them. I really had no idea how their items were but they looked good so I decided to order them.

 

I'm now waiting for them to get back to me with how much the shipping will be. I'm so excited to get more items for Miki. ^^

Definitely true. At my house we've ordered from Coolcat twice. The first time we got 2 pairs of socks for free. In a package we just got today (second order ever), we got 4 pairs of eyes and 5 hair bands for free. So it certainly seems very random in what you get!

I received a reply the same day that it was no problem and I shortly thereafter got a new order confirmation e-mail. My order was also shipped out that very same day so I was very lucky to catch my mistake before it was shipped off.

I order from Cool Cat all the time and the shipping prices and times listed so far have been spot on. I am in the USA.

 

Quality is top notch on everything. Shoes are amazing. Best bodystockings around. Awesome clothing.

 

Wigs are silky and beautiful (heat resistant type) though they do shed a bit and they tell you in advance that they will.

 

Silicone caps are the best I have seen and I have yet to tear one. I an not sure it is possible under normal cirbleepstances and I have ripped almost all other brands. They now have nude color caps which are great.

 

Eyes are great. Made by Leeke for Cool Cat if anyone didn't know that already. You probably did and I was the last one on the boat. edit - Nevermind - my mistake.

 

I have always gotten free goodies with my orders.

I think the eyes are made by Glib, actually. Junkyspot sells them in smaller sizes. But they are good quality

Oh, okay. Sorry about that. I read the other day that it was Leeke. No biggie & my apologies. Good eyes, either way.

So my order (with EMS shipping) was placed on the 9th, shipped out on the 10th, and arrived here on the 13th. Super fast handling and shipping.

 

Everything was packed in small box and padded with crumpled newspaper pages. I got these eyes as a gift. They might not be a colour I'd have picked myself but I am still happy with them and will probably try them out at some point.

 

I'm still trying to bleach out some stains on Miki's thighs so she has yet to try anything on. However, I will have her do so later this week.

 

There are still a whole bunch of things I'm interested in getting from Cool Cat so I will most likely order more from them. ^^

and i dont really have answeres for the other ones, but for brushes I'd honestly just go to your local hobby shop I get brushes for doing bjd faceups at hobby lobby and micheals here in colorado and i can make the best lines everrrrrr.

- I've only ever used EMS shipping, which as mentioned before is super fast.

Yes. Nearly all of my 18 girls' underwear is from Coolcat, although it's a little expensive, you'll never find better fitting undergarments for DDs. I've also never found undergarments for any BJD from anywhere else that is made as well. All of the Coolcat clothing I have for my girls are well made: sweater dresses, some fancier dresses, punk clothes, pants, stockings, swimsuits, and the aforementioned undergarments.

Coolcat also happens to be one of the best places to find clothes of many types made to fit Dynamite girls.

I have somewhere between 6 and 8 of their wigs, the colors of which are all accurate to the site. Some of the wigs are a little stiffer than others with regards to styling, but all of the longer ones are soft and silky, with the black ones being softer and silkier to the touch than any of the Volks or Leeke wigs that I have. They also hold their style pretty well, the shorter haired ones can be a pain to try to restyle due to being so stubborn. As said previously, they do shed some.

Question has anyone ever bought there scissors and thinning scissors? How do you use those thing anyway? I would like to style the wig am getting.

 

I've both of those sets of scissors from them and they're nicely made. I can't seem to find my thinning ones though and I need them to finish trimming Millefeuille's bangs. lol

You can use white tack for eye putty, no need to order something online.

Mack's soft ear plugs in your local pharmacy department Easiest thing to deal with for eyes and least expensive. Works like a charm, reusable and not user sticky like putty. But holds eyes well and doesn't over-harden.

 

You get like 6 pairs in a little case for around 3 bucks.

So I got my order, and everything is of excellent quality, the hair is soo soft and the body suit feels trustworthy but, I ordered some eyes in grey and got a mis matched pair

It sounds like she is going to give you another eye for each of your mismatched eyes to make 2 complete sets.
