Asuna's Sword 3D Rendering

I've never watched SAO, I actually don't have much interest in doing so either. BUT, I did make this from a few googled images, all from scratch in 3DS Max. Its the first time I tried modelling something just by eyeballing it, but I think it came out pretty well. If anyone has any questions about it, I'm happy to answer them if I can :3

I didn't like the one class I took on it at school tbh, but that was also cause I taught myself by that point in Maya using internet....'resources' if you will. Its more motivating when you have ideas and stuff rather than being told to make something with it. Which is also why I would never aim to do it professionally someday.

 

The materials have already been added to it, I dunno what textures and whatnot you'd want added xD Unless you mean the scenery, that was kind of a learning thing for me as well actually, I'm aware the grass could probably look better. ^^;

Very nice! Did you box or strip model it? And, out of curiosity, have you considered getting this sucker 3D printed? I bet there's quite a few people who would love to get a physical version for their DDs.

The sword is actually made of several pieces, and yes, I plan on getting this 3D printed after I fix it up and whatnot to make it a little more structurally plausible (which it really isn't right now). I won't outright offer it up to other people if they want one from me as I still have to make sure this works nicely. not to mention it would still need a bit of painting and whatnot.

I think your sword looks great! I have also taught myself 3D modeling but not in Maya (I made some Sims 2 objects). Having a 3D printed version that could be painted would be awesome and make it really customizable. I'm interested to see what this looks like printed out if you decide to do it!
