Obiwanivan Posted November 20, 2012 Does anyone know where to get the best Dollfie Dream pictures. Something like the (best of/top 100) of Flickr? There's a special at Shutterfly for a Personalized 12-Month Calendar for $6. Thanks,
Ara Posted November 20, 2012 I (personally) think this guy is REALLY good. However, as far as I know he also sells books and such with his photos, I don't really know if he'd agreed to a calendar made of his pictures http://blog.livedoor.jp/azure_toy_box/

Wow, really? I browsed through his blog and was not absolutely sure if he only sells books or calendars too, but that's nice to hear...not so nice that they are hard to get though, I love his photography
Yukamina Posted November 21, 2012 I just browse the Dollfie Dream group on Flickr and visit the user pages of the best pictures (my favorites, anyway). My Etsy Shop ~~~ My DeviantArt

SisterKyoya Posted November 21, 2012 I would make sure you contact every person who's photos you intend to use for the calendar to make sure it's ok. I know that Baldylox is very protective of his girls, just as Raven and I are of ours. I can imagine that this could be very true for many DD owners and it is best to ask first. Also, you may not have the rights to use just anyone's pictures of Flicker (or anywhere else) so make sure to check the Creative Commons rights for the pics you are considering. ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram
Ara Posted November 21, 2012 I second what Sister Kyoya says. Even though it might be completely for your own private calendar, you should still ask people about it. I'm fairly sure most people won't say no to this (at least I wouldn't as long as I know you are not uploading the photos to a site that says that after making your calendar they have the rights on the photos + you won't sell the calendar), but people also just like to know what happens to their photos. It's a nice compliment too, but you still should be fair and ask people.
SisterKyoya Posted November 21, 2012 Also, you never know what they may intend to do with their photos. It's a nice feeling having someone appreciate your work so much, but sometimes a person just wants to show off their work. My Photoshop teacher yesterday asked me if she could use my assignments that I've turned in for project references in future classes (many of them have Tamayuki as the subject). I told her that it was fine that she did, except for the faux book covers I made because I was somewhat considering making them into real books someday. [soapbox]I've been an artist my whole life so when the internet and usage rights comes up I get a bit prickly. It bothers me that there are individuals out there that seem to have no regard for the time and skill it takes to draw something well, or to set up a photo just right and think that since it's on the internet that it's all free game. I'm not saying that you are one of those people, but it's why I felt the need to so say something about asking first.[/soapbox] ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram
Ravendruid Posted November 22, 2012 Also, many pro or semi-pro photographers use flickr to either show off some of the pics they are especially proud of, or to advertise themselves. However, if they later choose to sell some of the rights to a certain image it can muddy things up if somebody else is using that picture.
