[Updated March 1] SAO Kirito- Male DD Project

Update: June 2, 2013

Sorry for the lack of updates. The Kirito Project was on hold while I was finishing up exams, assignments and now internship.

 

 

 

Project will resume shortly, after I wrap up a couple faceups. That sword needs some loving. I have been playing with the Obitsu body lately and it can hold up a fair amount of weight. Here he is carrying Asuna. She weights the same as a regular DD3 (M Bust if that makes any difference). The joins are very tight.

 

I will be customizing another wig for him soon because this one seems a bit short and too poofy sometimes. I still need to figure out what I am going to do with the one he has on now.

 

Also, ASUNA GOT HER ENGAGEMENT RING (awhile ago ^^").

Kirito has one too but you can't see it.

Still playing with the 65cm body. There are a few pros and cons. Don't have enough time to go through the details right now, but here is a teaser photo.

Something came in the mail today~

OBITSU 65cm! The box is HUGE!

*An hour later*

 

Been playing with him for about an hour. All I can say is that the 65cm body makes him VERY tall. They are both not wearing any shoes. Asuna is on a DDS body and Kirito is on the 65cm body (modded it a lot). He is hunching over Asuna here, but if standing straight, he can easily be 3/4 of a head taller or maybe even a whole head taller. Time to upgrade Asuna to a DD3 body......

 

 

 

I will strip Kirito and show off his SUPER fit body later. He is not super macho but does have abs.

Oh wow, did this arrive quick. I wasn't really expecting it until later this week or early next week.

Hey there gorgeous

Lets looks at some of the details.

 

I LOVE the metal detailing. Originally, I was planning on making them myself. YAY! Now I don't need to bother with it. Lucky!

 

The strap that is around him can be removed. I use it hold up his scabbard so he can carry his sword on his back. The inside of the jacket is lined in a silky material. Everything feels very high quality and I am very happy with it.

 

Outfit comes with a belt. Very well done, the ends are clean and finished nicely.

I do have a slight problem with the pants it comes with though. They are too loose on him. The pair that he is wearing in the photos are from his suit set, which were tailored to fit him. XD

 

How the back looks.

 

 

The strap around his waist is attached to the coat so they can't be removed. But they can bend with the coat. The photo above is with the coat open.

 

Love the V cut at the bottom of the coat.

 

Kirito, lets show them what the inside looks like.

 

It's so adorable! All the details are there, down to the little drawstring ends. LOVE IT!

The outfit also came with gloves and the metal guards for the shoes. He probably won't be wearing the gloves because they look like they will stain instantly on contact.

 

That is it for today. My SAO Kirito project is almost complete, I just need to finish painting Elucidator. ALMOST THERE!!!~

SWORD IS HERE!!!!! It looks super badass

It will take a lot of work before I can get it looking like Kirito's sword in the anime. Slowly but surely. Now, I have to run and get black paint.

I hope I can get this done before March with all the school work I have. March or not, Elucidator project START!

 

My two knights! Here is a shot to see how big the sword actually is with Kirito holding it. It's very light and about as tall as Lily's Caliburn. This is also a comparison show between Lily and Kirito. They are both using a Saber Lily mold but with different faceups. It's very interesting seeing them beside each other. Both Lily and Kirito are on DD3 bodies and comes up to about the same height. Kirito looks taller here because he is wearing shoes and on a stand.

 

I will put Asuna's update here too: All payment have cleared and I am expecting her home next week or early the week after. Her wig is here in Canada and is with customs. I have also picked out some eyes for her but those won't arrive until late Fab. AHH I AM SO EXCITED! My SAO Project is coming along to well.

Update: January 17, 2013

Still waiting for a few pieces, Sword and outfit. The good news is my tailor started on the outfit today and is currently in the making. I think she was on Christmas break. I will update as soon as I get progress shots. Here is a clear look at his faceup.

 

I tried to make his liner as close to the anime as I can. Kirito has a few lashes in the anime. I might fix the outer liner by bring it lower. I am just scared it will make him look more girly, he is using a Lily head after all . In terms of blush, I didn't use too much, just enough to make him look more alive. My post processing completely wipes it out sometimes, but that is okay. I might get him some new eyes, but I will figure that out later.

 

My dolly closet is full of boy clothes now. He finally got his boxers. Maybe I should do a boxer photoshoot with him (Just kidding Kirito )

Update: January 10, 2013

 

Been busy getting ready for school tomorrow. Organizing my notes and filing some of my older course materials. Finally had a few minutes to dress Kirito and take a quick photo. Got him some new clothes so he didn't have to keep borrowing his sister's.

 

Still waiting for a few things. I think the sword is shipped and his outfit is still on hold. But I messaged the tailor and she said I am next in line. The wait for that outfit is killing me!

HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE!

They were so cute, all dressed up and ready to go. I just HAD TO TAKE A PHOTO!!!!!! I finished Kirito's faceup awhile ago but I didn't have time to put him back together. Main part done! Now to wait for his outfit and sword.

Update Dec 30, 2012:

Elucidator printed!

 

It arrived at a friends house awhile ago. BIG thank you to Bobu for your help, you are the BEST!. UPS would have killed me in brokerage fees if they were to ship directly to Canada. I was told it doesn't fit into the scabbard because of the cross on the end. -sigh- I Have some major modding to do when I finally get my hands on it. . But all this work will be well worth it when I am done with it!.

 

I have also finished Kirito's faceup. Now he reminds me a lot of the original Saber DD. That was very unintentional, it just worked out that way for some reason . Photos after I finish up the rest of my work.

 

 

Update Dec 4, 2012:

Sorry for all the updates guys. Progress on the sword is going faster than I would like LOL

This is not the best time, since I have exams. BUT OH MY GOD ITS SO AWESOME!. Most likely the final edit on Elucidator. Added the symbol on the blade and fixed up the handle part (it was missing a spike before).

 

 

 

ITS A SEXY BEAST OF A SWORD!!!!!!!!

Can't wait to get my hands on it so I can paint it. OvO mmmmm, shiny metallic paint. -grabby hands-

 

Update Dec 3, 2012 (Part 2):

Elucidator detailing progress added. Makes me want to make his second sword, Dark Repulser, too. But I don't have the funds right now to make two sword.

Poor Kirito will just have to dual wield with Lily's Caliburn. Must get that missing spike FIXED!

 

 

Got the body and modded it today. I am suppose to be studying for an exam tomorrow. But I couldn't help myself lllllOrz

Update Dec 3, 2012:

Working on the sword now with a modeler. Base model is done, I just need to fix some things and add in the details. Have to do some more research on paint and putty.

The handle need to be slimmed down too.

 

 

 

Outfit has also been paid for and measurements were sent. Yay~ More waiting game.

 

Good news is that I got him his alternative wig, which I will be trimming after all my commissions

I might end up selling the one he has on right now. Still deciding.

Update November 22:

 

Ordered him 2 backup custom wigs from a friend in Toronto. Should be here in 10 days if she works fast.

 

I've also contacted a tailor to see if she is willing to work on his black battle outfit from season 1. Hopefully she will take the job >~< I kind of want his white KoB outfit also.... but we will see how the first one turns out.

 

I am organizing a CoolCat group order over on the slip section to get him a body stocking since he will be wearing a lot of black. Don't want him to stain

 

Body has been shipped and is on it's way. Ahhh so excited. It will require some blushing.... still have to research on how to blush a boy body.

Original Post On November 20

Since Volks is releasing an Asuna DD, my project for a custom Asuna have been cancelled. Being the crazy fangirl that I am for Sword Art Online I wanted to make a custom Kirito DD also. He can wait for Asuna to come home.

 

This is how Kirito looks from Sword Art Online:

 

 

 

 

 

 

I find Kirito's character a bit on the feminine male side so turning him into a DD wouldn't be too much of a problem. If anything, I can just make a GGO Kirito XD (thanks Initial for the suggestion).

 

This project have started and I will be updating this forum as I continue working on him.

 

 

Head:

I will be using a Saber Lily head for this as I find her sculpt somewhat masculine. If it doesn't work out I will just give her a custom girl faceup.

 

Eyes

Not finalized but I will probably be using Twin-Snow eyes in gray/ black.

 

 

Outfit

I just need a black t-shirt and jeans really LOL.

 

 

Sword

Wig

 

So I bought a cheap wig from e-bay a few weeks ago. This is how it looked:

 

I should just leave the bob cut on Kirito XD Looks hilariously horrible.

Anyways, time to get the scissors out >_<

 

It was a pain layering the hair with just a pair of scissors. I can't find my razor comb from my last wig cutting tutorial . The wig can still use a bit of work. No heating tools were used on it yet and it still needs a good wash. Will do that after all my commissions.

It's a trap, he is still on a DD3 L bust body.

 

Ordered the body already so it should be here in 2 weeks. Will keep you guys updated. I will be repainting Kirito after all my commissions so he will get his new faceup around New Year (I work slow).

I think it's because it's so clean and simple with almost no eyelashes XD. She has a very cool look to her which fits her image well. A composed yet beautifully mature white knight in shining amour.

No, I won't dare to mess with something I have no confidence in fixing. The sword that I am getting from the Lily split will be for Lily only and not Kirito. The sword will be made from scratch and painted by hand.

What Obitsu body will you be using? I've been waiting for the 65 cm but I'm not sure that's out yet. He's looking pretty good. See, I always knew Saber looked good as a boy (I made Leo, my Lily's little bro - actually Lily head on an Obitsu 55cm body ). But yours is so much more awesome!!! Can't wait to see how he turns out.

 

Oh yeah and does your friend take commissions? I really want an Eva suit made since I'm such a newb at sewing and am thinking of just commissioning someone to do it.

It's always awesome to see more DD boys around here. The wig/styling job looks fantastic. I think you've really nailed it. Can't wait to see him on his new body!
