Silica Project (Sword Art Online) - Clothes WIP! -

Done the black clothing parts!, now the red coat is next, followed by the armour parts, belts and dagger etc

 

 

I'm a bit annoyed that photobucket tipped the pics sideways instead of letting them stand as they are supposed to ><

Photobucket does have manipulation tools. Granted I personally find Flickr to be more user friendly and better sizing options to post on the forums, but I still occasionally use Photobucket as well.

 

Your girl is looking really good though. Her outfit is very cute. Although I couldn't see the full pics until I scrolled down to the message history when writing this message.

She is looking pretty good. Can't wait to see her finished.

The red bits about done. now to add a belt bag, chest plate and ring around her foot joint. and of course lastly, her dagger with scabbard. i'm going to try make Pina (her dragon) at some point but it'll wait for now

 

 

i'm not entirely pleased with the gold trim, i would have wanted it applied a bit more smoothly and flawless, so i might redo it someday but it'll do more than enough for now. but do note that i'm a bit of a perfectionist and self-critical at times

I think the outfit looks great! Doing trim like that isn't easy. Did you use just strips of fabric or bias tape? I've done trim like that before (but not covering so many edges!) and it always takes a lot of patience because even pinning it goofs it up. If that caused some of the issue and you choose to redo it later, I'd suggest doing basting stitches before sewing to make it easier.

That's amazing from what you did so far.

I was planning to make my own Silica too soon (was gonna use a DDH-04 head too).

Hope we can share tips soon once I start working on mine. (busy at work all the time)

Gonna learn how to make cloths too...I work as designer for underwear & socks but only design...the making is another story.
