Zero Posted November 22, 2012 Here is the first doll house that I made. This doll house has two floors. But as you can see there is not alot of room with this many girls. So I rediid the house and here is what it is now. And here is what it looks like all together. And here is a way to see how big it is.

Traveller Posted November 23, 2012 That is some layout you have there and must have taken sometime to build, and you did a grand job But playing eye-spy with my eyes, i seem to reconize some of these girls, espeically one of the sofa that looks like "May", who was owned by someone long gone from here called emil

SisterKyoya Posted November 24, 2012 This is really awesome! Something very similar is what I've been planning to do for a long time for our dolls because we had American Girls long before DD. With my mom & sister moving out by the first of Dec. I can finally have the space to do it. What did you like and dislike about the first version you did and the second? I've been thinking about having each room be an individual box that interlock (pegs and holes maybe) so I could shift them around if I wanted to. Your woodworking skills far exceed mine and the house looks wonderful! I love that you even have a toilet and sink! ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram

Your woodworking skills far exceed mine and the house looks wonderful! I love that you even have a toilet and sink! ~Sister Kyoya There was not to much I did not like about the first doll house. That house was made for 2 or 3 dolls a best. I have 9 dolls so there was not much room if I wanted to do a story with it. You have to move the girls somewhere else. To tell the truth I only made the larger one just to have something to do. I like to make things. I dont care if I keep them most the time. It is the fun of just makeing them. Now one of the downfalls to making this house is its size. One room is 30 inches by 30 inches by 24 inches deep. That gives you space to make a room with things in it. You also have to keep in mind of what thicknest the wood is. (exp. if you make the box out of 3/4 inch plywood it is going to be about 30 pounds. but if you make it out of 1/2 inch plywood it is about 20 - 25 pounds.) A peg system to hold them together sounds like a good idea as long as you know that it is going to sit on the floor. My doll house has a base that it sits on. So I can have storage and it makes shoting ez. I like my doll house but it is just to big for the room I have. I may brake it down and make a new one half its size. That is so i can get a sewing space back. But if I had the room I would make it bigger.

atrika Posted November 24, 2012 Wow.... I wish I had the space for something like this, but something big enough for more than 18 girls to fit/live in. Ditto. this is really awesome :3 i recently want to look for miniature wallpaper, it got me to this website that's dedicated to everything miniature for wall paper to flooring and fabric for curtains, but its UK. the dollhouse i have in mind actually is a closet with doors, probably something from Ikea. so it would be camouflaged with the rest of the furniture and no unwanted touching from dollfie intolerant people lol. but when open, voila! a whole new world.
