Air shipping from Japan is available again!

I think this is about the best place to put this but feel free to move it if it needs to be elsewhere.

 

I don't know if many people knew about this before but it seems that with a recent bomb scare the US had, they made some rather silly demands from countries that ship by air to the US often. And when these demands were given to Japan, the Japanese post just said fine, if yall want to be silly, we will too. They basically said that no packages that weigh over 1 pound would be able to be shipped by air to the US by anyone who did not have a business class licence to ship.

 

This happened about 2 weeks ago and if you normally purchase thru retailers in Japan, it would not affect you at all. But for those of us who are lucky enuff to know someone who lives in Japan and is willing to bid on Yahoo Japan auctions and such for us, it totally sucked since they couldn't mail us anything anymore unless it went by ship which meant a wait of a month or more!

 

Anyways, yesterday I read that this ridiculous new mandate has now been repealed. Japan said that everything is now back to normal and shipments can continue as before.

 

Now if I can just get in touch with my super busy friend, I may be able to get my grubby paws on something I have been eyeing for quite a long time!

 

I just figured I'd let people know if they didn't already. Mainly, I am just at work with nothing to do except play online.....

The item your trying to get sounds intriguing!

Well, the girl I adopted Manami from found a listing on a manufacturers website that showed a certain item I have been drooling over for a long time now as actually in stock. It's a limited quantity item that they didn't give a number on and when it was initially released, it was in short supply. So for them to have it showing as in stock was odd.

 

The main problem is that this item is listed as available for purchase in Japan only. So when I tried to see if I could see how many were available or put it in my shopping cart, it stated I was not in Japan so I could not access it. That's why I am trying to see if my friend in Osaka can order it for me and then ship it to me afterwards.

 

What rocks about this is that this item regularly comes up on Ebay in the US and on Yahoo Japan for $250 USD or thereabouts and it is available on this site for it's original cost of right at $100 USD! So I really want to grab it while I can to save some serious dough. But since I can't tell how many they have and my friend has not gotten back to me, I have no clue if I will be able to actually get it or not. Here's to hoping.
